To me SM2 is a safe, run off the mill crowd pleaser that didn’t take any risks whatsoever and had little to no innovation. I enjoyed the first game way more.

Yes it was a vote, but maybe it shouldn’t have been, since people will probably always vote for their console of choice exclusives. (see Starfield).

I personally hold a review website to a higher standard than just counting votes.

Still not as bad as Starfield, at least Spidey is a decent game.

I mean it is ridiculous and it discredits this whole website, but its not as bad!

@UltimateOtaku91 Thats actually a really good point, i cant think of many popular turn based rpgs that came out on consoles.

Thank you for a well constructed comment. I do admit i mightve let my personal dislike of the new spidey cloud my view of how popular the game actually is.

@UltimateOtaku91 I personally believe and please take it as constructive criticism framed in the most respectful way possible, that exclusivity shouldnt matter.

Playstation site goty should mean the best games available for the console. In my opinion.

Edit - i would argue that superhero themed, combo based fighting game is way more niche than RPG these days.

There were more changes in RE4 remake over the original and that was a remake, not a full fledged sequel.

Alan Wake 2 had way better story and presentation while also being more technologically impressive.

I personally believe both of those games should be higher.

Constructive criticism - I dont think something being an exclusive should matter, i think you should be objective when chosing a GOtY.

Weird how many people had AW2 as GOtY and then it ends up 4th :/

@Gremio108 the first one is recommended. You will probably be absolutelly fine playing the second one, if a little bit confused.
But they overall did a good job with introducing new players.

I personally played the remaster before playing AW2, but i dont think its necessary.

Putting call of the mountain and half life alyx in the same sentence should be a capital offence. Especially since theres games like RE4

Didnt play the weeb dragon game, but i personally enjoyed AW2 story way more than BG3 which, in my opinion, was way too safe.

@Flippygruffle I, for one, think that Alan Wake 2 is extremely underrated.

Edit- Altho i also prefer Sagas gameplay, I think Alans parts are brilliant too, the instant rewriting of scenes is breathtaking. And the fact that you never know which shadows are real or not keeps you uneasy for the entire game.

Alan Wake 2 completely took over my life. Its breathtaking! I cant believe it didnt win GoTY, and im saying that as a huge BG fan.

@themightyant how was Bg3 a console exclusive? It was on PC three years prior.

Edit - i realized you probably ment PS5 exclusive in relation to xbox, nvm.

I guess everyone expected the Goty to go to BG3.

What pleasantly surprised me is that Alan Wake 2 got so many awards, well deserved tbh.

As if we didnt have enough of twerking influencers on yachts in real life, we have to have them in our games as well.

If theyre aiming for this Bonnie&Clyde style of a story i dont know why not set it in the past.

@GamingFan4Lyf I know exactly what you talking about. I still enjoyed GTAV, but already noticed it. Couldnt finish RDR2 for that reason.

@milonorth Its definetly playable. Act 1 is flawless, there are some texture popins in the main camp of Act 2.
Act 3 is where the problems are, big popin and fps drops. Act 3 is basiclaly a huuuge city that is cpu heavy, consoles arent very happy with it.

Wonder if the analog sticks still drift.

Not great, I mean lego 2k is decent, but i cant shake the feeling theyre only doing it to sell more ingame currency over the christmas.

Looking at the sale of hardware, one could say the market is well in Sonys favor right now.

Altho the argument of optimalisation surely only applies to the first party titles, definetly not baldurs gate in this instance, a game that was developed for PC first and foremost.

Im back to Baldurs gate 3.

This game gave me nightmare in my teen years. Couldnt sleep right for a week after shodan reveal.

Would definetly give it a shot from the comfiness of my couch if the controls are done well.

Im probably going to be the odd one here, but while it looks flashy it seems like underneath is the very similar game to what we already got twice before.

Not necessarily a bad thing, just expected more innovation :/

Playing beta had me cancel my preoder. They really dropped the ball with this one. Bought Diablo2 instead, pretty good on console!

The major problem here is that people still think that Acti-blizz is some major player. Just look at the state of diablo4/immortal/wow/overwatch.

I was massively disappointed, i loved ZD, but FW was weird. While the combat was absolutelly amazing i didnt like the story one bit.
Everyone treats aloy like a second coming of jesus and it gets boring real fast :/
There is no character arc for aloy whatsoever.

Halfway thru act2, no problems whatsoever!

The game looks absolutelly stunning.
Moreover the controls are smooth and intuitive.

Never thought id be playing a crpg on a console, but im having an absolute blast.

Definetly one of the best games ive ever played.

Im not surprised, “get majority hold of a market and then increase prices” is a badic business tactic.

I absolutelly agree tho, ive played all the diablo games, but giving 4 a pass. It doesnt need to be open world, nor a live service.
Im glad i did tho, it seems horrible from an outside view xD

@themcnoisy i think youre wrong, i dont like diablo as much as next guy, but from what i hear its more tuned to the casual player.
To the point that medium-to-hardcore players are complaining that theres no content.

As i said, i dont like diablo for multiple reasons, im just getting alergic to the argument “if you like X, you clearly have no job/wife/family”
