As an older guy, I'm struggling to comprehend why is it so hard for younger gamers to accept the concept of exclusivity. All they do is demand games to be on the only platform that they parents bought them, be it, a traditional console like playstation, a pc, or a smartphone.

My generation fully understand that if Nintendo pays to develop a mario game, then it will be on a Nintendo console.

iOS is on apple devices, McDonald's fries is on McDonald's, and iVTEC engines are on Honda cars. You cannot go to Popeyes and demands the Colonel's Original Recipe to be available there.

KFC has bought that recipe from Sanders, and they're the one who have the rights to sell them.

Imma safely assume that it won't be the case for some potato $700 PC.

Wukong is a really good game, but tbh if people want to know why it didn't win, they need to look no further than Swen's speech: "a game that hasn't been made before."

3D action adventure isn't really something new. Nor is Sun Wu Kong. Black Myth just happened to be made by the right people, at the right time, that it made so many gamers happy.

Astro Bot, on the other hand -although 3D platformer is also one of the oldest genre in gaming, but the way they incorporate nostalgia and easter eggs into the game is definitely something that many people hasn't seen before. It's kinda similar to Avengers Endgame that rewards people who followed MCU movies for 10 years, Astro Bot rewards people who followed PlayStation history for 30 years. It's a unique feeling of satisfaction that not many devs has tapped into.

Anyway, review bombing a game. Because the head of company that made the game. Said something in an award show. Where your favorite game happened to lose... Goodamn, these losers are really desperate. It's like kicking a dog, because the owner of the dog, is the father of a kid, who is the brother of another kid, that's a friend of another kid, who said something mean to you.

Just like most other generations, this gen started with a rocky start. I don't want to remind people who bought 7th gen consoles about doa ylod and rrod units, but they didn't even get to play on their shiny new consoles.

This is why we leave day one products for reviewers who can afford to get screwed up. The rest of us should spend our hard earned cash when the products are optimized and stabilized.

I'm from south east asia. Of course i can play ps4 games from any region, but i always bought the asian versions because the "yes" button will be O instead of X. I'm always annoyed when playing NA versions because i always accidentally hit "no" instead of "yes".

I'm not stupid. Of course in the end i always adapted to each games. But it's over 20 years of muscle memory, man... I will screw up every now and then.

Both games have very specific markets and i think that's why the rest of ps+ subscribers who are not happen to be part of those markets can be easily irritated.

Unlike when you put more broadly accepted games, like... say, horizon zero dawn, god of war, or spider-man. Those games can be easily accepted by more people, and less people will get irritated by those awesome titles.
Don't get me wrong, some people will always get irritated (WE ALREADY HAVE THOSE GAME WTF SONY), that's just the way our world works now, but i imagine the numbers would be way less.

I would still pay just for the cloud storage and free games IF they make it INCREDIBLY CHEAP.

I buy PlayStation for its great single-player exclusives, so even if online multiplayer are free elsewhere, it doesn't affect me much.

With that said, i can kinda see why xbox might profit by making it free: They already lost the single-player exclusives battle, why not try winning the online multiplatforms?

I swear everytime i see an article that says "SECRET TRICKS YOU DIDN'T KNOW FOR YOUR PS4" i already know about everything. But i actually don't know about this. So props.

As we all know the ds4's battery is not the greatest whatsoever, so i often turn it off to change to my second controller, or when I'm watching something.

At this point I'm probably faster with the quick menus. But still, nice to know.

It's exactly what i expected it would be:

Typical cerny presentation -stuff that technically amusing, but would make close to zero sense for the masses watching it.

People outrage because no product reveal. although it's pretty obvious that they're not going to do it.

People disappointed because of the numbers, although numbers never mattered in every generations ever.

Websites and youtubers making huge fuss about these stuff. Cuz they gotta eat.

So yeah, everything are as expected.

Never get consoles day one.

At least if you're broke like me.

Let them deal with the bugs and errors. If you're THAT patient, wait for price drop on slim models.
More games would've been launched, os more stable and possibly more features.

SCPH-1000's (ps1) lens was in the wrong position, which cause it to overheat, and we all had to tilt the console horizontally.
ps3 had everything wrong with its first models. Tbh it's only start being good when the slim rolled out.
CUH-1000 (ps4) have BLOD and auto eject.

Other console manufacturers are just as guilty. MS had million models of 360 until they got it right. Nintendo as always releases their hardware revisions quietly while hoping people won't notice.

@Alteffo actually i didn't know that. Me and many others still think that we're gonna have to pay for the subscription fee on top of buying our games, even for the base service. I just realized it's going to be free after googling about it 5 seconds ago.

This just shows how bad google are on formulating and marketing their products. If it's going to be free at some point, THAT'S what they should be advertising like crazy. Instead, they're shoving us images of limited blue controllers and different kind of price plans. Those are what stuck on my mind after seeing their presentation. I didn't even realize it'll be free in the future.

You know in gaming, everything needs to be crystal clear. Wiiu bombed because of bad naming, steam machines bombed because they're confusing, i still remember the whole fiasco when ps4pro got released people was confused as hell. People still can't decide getting a switch or a switch lite to this day.

If the service itself is really free, i could see some ways that it might work. Buying just the games is indeed cheaper than buying the games and a console. But google have a lot of campaigning to do to make it happen.

Console games are about ease of use.
Last couple of PlayStation's games that comes to my mind are came fully finished and polished games: horizon, god of war, spiderman..
We didn't even have to pay upfront. We just buy the finished products in all its glory.

And i sure hope that trend continues.
I don't need to be bothered beta testing every games that're coming out.
