So I guess we are ignoring that PlayStation has been hit with more layoffs from its Visual Arts studio, that supported first party games, (frankly probably did more work than the studio Xbox closed) as well as a lot of Bungie staff being laid off and their game being put on hold

Also as a side note those calling for Xbox to fail really don't have much in the way of intelligence, a monopoly is NEVER good no company should have zero competition as it always leads to greed and walking over customers, think prices are bad now just wait until Sony don't have to keep them low for competition

@PuppetMaster but this started before Microsoft took over... This happened as soon as Fortnite took over, PUBG, CoD, Halo, Rainbow 6 siege and many more games started adding more and more ridiculous skins than to Fortnite

If Microsoft allows you to upgrade you system then that will be a game changer the simple plug and play of a console but with the option to upgrade if needed

@Medic_alert the thing is Xbox doesn't need to make money from the console/pc thats the whole point and how they can keep in the competition, Sony rely on making profits from their games to cover costs (this is why they release them on PC now to keep covering costs) Xbox on the other hand make more money than Sony just with Activision/blizzard/King, this acquisition keeps Microsoft afloat easily, then you have gamepass, and then Xbox/Microsoft being the biggest publisher on Playstations platform

Xbox may have lost in the console war part of things but they are dominating the actual game space thanks to the companies they own

@Bez87 perhaps just Dona quick Google search, insomniac even did a public apology due to the amount of bugs in the game the biggest being one that corrupted the save data... I too had no issues but we are rare cases, this game was notorious when it launched due to the amount of bugs

@Pranwell well I don't see the point of wasting money on a console that will only be used for a bunch of remasters and maybe one or two first party titles, I also don't agree with Sony's pricing and I know if this console sells well the next console will have a price increase, I have played all the games they are remastering so that isn't worth me buying the PS5 Pro for, the only upcoming game from Sony I care about is the Wolverine game

To be honest I've not even been able to justify my base PS5 purchase, only played about 4 exclusives on it and non of them really pushed the console to its limits

It really was a mistake for these people to cave into FOMO because now Sony know that people will pay this price and we know that the PS6 will be £700 or possibly higher as seems to be the case with each new generation and probably with no disk drive

And now that Microsoft are not really focused on console wars this means Sony has a monopoly on the console market which means everything will get more expensive with them being unchecked

Nah I'm sick of Sony's greed this generation almost £800 for a console that has maybe 2 years service life and a bunch of remasters is a joke, it's clear as well that Sony is pushing to digital games as a way to take even more money from consumers without the option to sell like you can with physical,

Before with like the PS4 pro it made sense as it was a pretty decent leap between the two consoles as the PS4 was underpowered but the difference between the PS5 and Pro is so small and I would bet the difference between the PS5 Pro and PS6 will also be fairly small, to be honest this last year or two my PS5 has been gathering dust due to the lack of 1st party titles, which is even more evident by the onslaught of remasters Sony is doing

This just makes the PS5 Pro even less worth it, we will probably get the PS6 in 2027, the PS5 has still barely been squeezed for its power the only games that run badly are the ones badly made, and heck the Last of us 2, God of war and Red dead redemption 2 are the best looking next gen games and they are last gen games... If the PS5 game developer can't deliver graphics better than a bunch of 2018 games what's going on?

I mean consoles used to be the cheap and easy option, however modern PCs are pretty much plug and play and for £700+ you can get a PC that matches the PS5 Pro specs and these days all the good PS and Xbox games to PC anyway plus all the PC exclusives

If this is the price turned going forwards can we expect the PS6 and the next Xbox to cost £700/800 as a base? Plus paying for an online subscription and the increase in digital game prices a PS6 or new Xbox could be let's say £800, plus maybe 2 new digital games due to no disc drive that's £70 each so £140 and then £60 for the most basic PS+ subscription that's £1000 that is absurd and with most of the western worlds experiencing financial issues this won't go well down well

Oh and are we forgetting the greedy $ony just switch the currency symbols for countries in Europe compared to USA, that is Apple level of greed

On a similar subject this will play into Microsofts hands nicely, Sony can't afford to take hits to lower the cost on consoles but Microsoft who have pretty much unlimited money can easily come in and severely undercut the PS5 Pro, similar to the Xbox 360 undercutting the PS3

I just don't think Sony can do decent multiplayer stuff these days, Concord failed hard, cancelled the multiplayer last of us and since Sony brought Bungie Destiny 2 has been losing money, players and getting worse reviews

Really don't understand why SW Outlaws is being attacked for this pricing? It is the same as other AAA studios have been doing for decades, it's very common to bundle a season/expansion pass into a games pre order as a special edition... I brought games back on PS3 that did this

I don't think "consoles" will die however I am almost certain that dedicated consoles will be gone in a decade or two, we are already seeing Sony and Microsoft bringing their games to PC and in some cases other platforms, I think we will get to a point where consoles are too expensive to make Vs sale price we already know Sony take a rather big loss on console sales so once prices keep going up I think we will see a somewhat joint operation between Xbox and PlayStation I think this will need to happen for PlayStation to actually survive

I can see it now in 10 years let's say the price to make consoles goes up double if Sony sticks to the same £500 price point that is already losing them money with double the cost on their end it would bankrupt them, and if they tried to increase the consoles prices to like £750/800 they would also loose many sales, this is where Microsoft would come it due to that company having pretty much unlimited money they could undercut Sony by a lot and effectively push them out of the market, it may be hypothetical but it's based on stats and figures we have currently

We will see an end to a dedicated console, we will get something like "Playstation powered by Xbox" it sounds crazy I know but it's happened in other industries when times were tough/end of life phase

Interesting I remember both Sony and Bungie promising that this would not happen and the studio would stay independent, no doubt they will end up gutting the company and taking employees for their own studios

It was done as a counter to Microsoft buying Activision/Blizzard, the difference is Activision/Blizzard is a money printing machines whereas Bungie has been in a pretty bad place for a while they have had seemingly a fair few issues with money, seems like Sony panic brought Bungie and seems to be regretting it

@PuppetMaster it's looking like Helldivers might have been better off putting on Gamepass anyway as the game is on life support at the moment thanks to most PC players leaving

You have had to visit businesses manually for the past like 6 years... This isn't Rockstar locking a previous feature behind a paywall, this is them adding a new feature that gives it's subscribers an extra benefit 90% of players won't care as they are so used to collecting them in person

Well I was called a hater when I said this would happen months ago, I told people it would be exactly like the PSVR 1 and PS Portal, lots of promises, turned to lies, turned to ripping the customers off once again

I guess it doesn't help when most of the games were old PC VR titles

Really can't believe that the Xbox showcase got me so excited, only thing I liked from ours was Astrobot but I don't class that as a heavy hitting AAA title really

@AllStarGamer that's the whole point of them bringing the games to Playstation, we have to pay full price but the Xbox players get them free, I really wish Sony did this to be honest, it would feel like I was being rewarded for being a lifelong fan but I'm glad I have Gamepass on PC so I don't get shafted by the PS Store prices

@Jamesblob yep the people here don't seem to realise that this is actually an insanely good move by Microsoft they are able to take over the Playstation from the inside, they will be getting loads more income with their games on the PS platform plus Xbox gamers get the games on game pass, and with all this new income they will be able to buy more studios and I would imagine eventually they will be the most dominant company on the playstation itself

Xbox nailed it. Fable, Perfect Dark, Doom and Gears it felt like an Xbox 360 era type showcase, which frankly Xbox needed, I am glad I already own a gaming PC as I would have seriously considered grabbing a Series X

I mean I hate to say it but that was one of the best game console events I've seen for a good few years, IF and it's a big IF Microsoft can maintain this level of quality games and 1st party titles they may be coming for a comeback, I guess similar to what we saw during the 360 era when Sony missed the mark, it seems history may be repeating itself

And? It's no different than the touch pad, haptics etc all being ignored by most AAA studios due to PC, Xbox and Switch, if you make a controller full of gimmicks you can't expect a game developer to cater specifically to said gimmicks when they develop for PC and Xbox too

It's like the switch most cross platform games on switch don't use all the joycon features because Xbox and PS5 don't use them

It should really only be the exclusives for each console that use the gimmicky features

This was clearly some under the table deal or pay off, the excuse of Microsoft effecting the cloud market is laughable and clearly a paid for result because the UK has no cloud gaming market as on average our WiFi is not good enough

Microsoft will just go to another country and get this approved which then means they can't trade in the UK that's what will happen so the UK has ruined things for gamers as when this deal does go through UK won't get the games

Unpopular opinion but love service is not the future and people are already sick of it, Destinys constant loot, level and then have it reset in a seasons time is pointless and gets to a point where it's a chore god knows why Sony is trying to push it so hard (other than the vast money they can milk from it )

I think I might prefer this I loved quidditch world cup on PS2 so if it's that but more in depth and multiplayer then yeah I'm board IF it is that then I will let them off, if it sucks then I'll be made it was left out although from the start I said quidditch was too big of a thing to show horn into an already packed game

@CRASH64 I assume not many people are covering it because it isn't anything special all these games are just ports from the PC VR I'm sure if one day the PSVR is to get a game as highly regarded as Half Life Alyx for example it would get a lot of people talking about it

They need to change it back to being hard, the amount of relief and joy I felt after learning the timings, precision and moveset was a fantastic high that boss fight also serves as a great learning step because after that boss I really had no trouble with any other boss except for the final boss

@Bleachedsmiles I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Sony tries to use it for their laughable accusations (even though the performance is awful on Xbox too) and to be honest with the recent lies Sony has been saying and the down right hilarious accusations towards Microsoft I really wouldn't be surprised if it was don't on purpose they seem to be getting desperate and childish enough to do that

@naruball well they brought Bungie which is worth 3.6 billion actually this is a great comparison as Sony did what Microsoft wants they brought Bungie kept destiny multiple platform and then have Bungie make exclusives separately, Microsoft want to buy Activision keep Cod multiple platform and then have them make exclusives separately

They brought insomniac games, they are currently working on buying capcom and square enix

You are deluded if you think Sony wouldn't of brought Activision if they could, Microsoft has more money that is the only thing stopping Sony going after huge targets on the scale Microsoft did

Sony historically have brought a load of studios and now going after buggers ones

@Jaz007 sorry but I have to disagree with the comment that Sony are innovating, that simply isn't true, their haptic feedback and adjustable triggers have been a thing on controllers for year just third party controllers so nothing new there, their pro controller is just their take on the Xbox elite controller (which is just a copy of a third party controller) their VR2 isn't particularly innovative, at least not compared to PCVR like the Steam one, the current PSVR2 lineup is one or two first party games and then a bunch of old PC ports

@ItsBritneyB_tch not fully true, Sony spent the PS2 and early PS3 era buying studios it took them a fair few years to start producing good games perhaps you were too young to remember at that time but what Microsoft is doing now is what Sony did,

Also to those who think Microsoft are some big bad guys wanting to take Cod from Sony you are very very wrong, they want to keep it on PlayStation and bring it to Nintendo as they want more money simple as that, they also dont really care about Cod or Sony, they want the mobile giant King Activision/Blizzard is a small part of the deal King is their main target as that company takes in money like there's no tomorrow

She is a bit deluded in her thinking but I guess we have to remember that Sony really are not innocent in this, Sony brought loads of big studios during the PS3 era we all loved this but many of us knew one day it would come back and bite us in the a**, this is just Microsoft playing catch up the only difference is Microsoft has way more money

Also in regards to this deal I think Microsoft will succeed as Sony has ***** themselves in the foot, Sony have been lying "Sony is briefing people in Brussels claiming Microsoft is unwilling to offer them parity for Call of Duty if it acquires Activision." Which isn't true as Microsoft offered them a 10 year deal, they have also said they will bring the cod games to Nintendo, so with Sony lying and the fact if the deal doesn't go through Nintendo won't get the games I don't think Sony will win this because essentially if MS wins Sony get the game AND Nintendo

Don't worry Xbox gamers you don't need to be upset the game is pretty *****, it's basically anthem and destiny with a marvel skin

I guess that's why no Xbox report sites are complaining as they only complain about exclusives when the game is actually good
