Re: Reaction: The PS5 Discourse Around State of Plays Is Becoming Draining

cali_kush70

So for me personally, Sony has done an awful job during this PS5 generation. We've gotten enough remasters and remakes to last a lifetime lol (although certain games like The Last of Us Part 1 deserved a remake imo). I also feel like we're still feeling the fallout from Sony's failed live service pivot. We have a cancellation of God of War Live Service, Last of Us LS, Spiderman LS, Concord LS and whatever Bend Studio was working on. I feel like that's a lot of resources (time, Money, and effort) down the drain.

Making a successful live service game is tough. It takes great gameplay, an active community, regular updates, and a smart way to make money. I think that Sony might not have realized how hard this is. Even world class studios like Naughty Dog had to throw in the towel and say, "hey this isn't for us, this isn't what we as a studio do."

I also think PlayStation may have misread the Market and the appetite PlayStation owners have for live service games. Sony is known for its single-player games, with them diverting resources they may have overestimated how many of Us PlayStation owners actually wanted live service games, especially if it meant fewer of the story-driven games that people like myself purchased a PS5 for in the 1st place.

Moving forward my hope is Sony starts to really drop the hammer with what they do best, making phenomenal blockbuster single player games. I'm not saying NEVER make a live service game, but putting 60% of resources into live service with only 40% reserved for their single player exclusives that PlayStation fans know and love was probably a bad call.

I want to see games, I want Playstation to show me the games I've been yearning for. Ghost of Yotei, Intergalactic: the Heretic Prophet, Marvels Wolverine, Insomniac's Venom game, Bungies Marathon, and whatever Sony Santa Monica is working on (I personally would love to see a God of War with ancient Egyptian gods). Luckily 2025 looks like an excellent lineup for PlayStation so I'm definitely excited to see what gets announced and released.

Re: Sony Quietly Pulls 'Eslop' Titles in Face of Mounting Pressure

cali_kush70

@DennisReynolds 1st of all its always sunny is my favorite show, excellent profile name & pic lol.

Second, I agree the shovel ware is frustrating. I find that it's much more abundantly noticable on PlayStation than Xbox. At least for me anyways, the thing that frustrates me the most is when trying to find legitimate DECENT indies to play on PlayStation and Xbox you've got a few thousand that are blatant copycat eslop and it's a bummer because true gems are likely never to be seen amidst the eslop.

Eslop is most definitely a thing on Xbox but I guess the difference is the sheer amount of categories that exist within the Xbox store allows user to scroll through or bypass a lot of eslop. What I mean by this is when you open the Microsoft store on Xbox you have multiple options:
top new games, games coming soon, top paid games, top free games and optimized for Series X|S. Upon clicking on those categories you'll get most known games but as you go deeper you'll find the eslop.

Then when you click on deals you have even more sub categories: wishlist deals, special offers, Xbox game specials, deals for you, deals with gamepass and most played game deals. This is the section I browse the most as now I'm 30 I no longer need to buy games day one so I wait for sales 95% of the time. Certain games like GTA 6 I will buy day one or if there's something that I feel is must have I will buy day one, for example I bought Indiana Jones and the Great Circle day one on Xbox. The same goes for PlayStation exclusives like Spiderman 2, God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima I purchased them all day one, but most other games I typically purchase on sale, for example last week I bought Assassin's Creed Mirage Digital Deluxe Edition on sale for $11 on the Xbox store. It wasn't a game I needed to play day one but it was a game I wanted to play at some point so I waited until it was cheap.

I think just the way the Microsoft store is laid out I don't see shovel ware as much as on PlayStation. When I click on PS5 games and start scrolling through them it's usually a mix of known games and a bunch of eslop.

I really wish Microsoft and Sony would do their due diligence & sift through the junk games, get rid of them in order to give legitimate GOOD indie gems the limelight they deserve. We all know there's good games out there that aren't on anyone's radar but finding them has become a lot harder as this generation has gone on.

Happy gaming ✌️

Re: PSN Downtime Raises Fresh Questions About PS5's Future Functionality

cali_kush70

My OG PS5 disc drive worked fine during the outage, I tested it just to make sure. That being said, I'm so grateful I got my wife and I am Xbox to compliment our PS5 consoles. While the outage was affecting everyone my wife and I enjoyed our Friday night playing Black Ops 6, Fortnite, and Rocket League. Saturday morning I spent my time deep inside ancient Egypt exploring tombs in assassin's creed origins. Definitely glad I'm able to enjoy the best of both worlds. I love PlayStation and I love Xbox, happy gaming y'all ✌️

Re: Xbox Was December's Biggest Publisher, and 64% of Its Sales Were on PS5, PS4

cali_kush70

Your PlayStation is helping fund Xbox's ambitions. It's honestly a brilliant idea, the gatekeeping PlayStation is sticking too just feels outdated in an age where we can freely choose to play whatever we want wherever we want.

I think one of the things I dislike the most is Sony has made it to where we can't buy game keys on digital market spaces. I get most of my games digitally and being locked to the PlayStation store seems backwards in 2025. It feels very apple like in nature. On my Xbox and even PC I can buy digital games from Walmart, Amazon, Target, CDkeys and whatever other store I'm forgetting lol. Still I do love my PS5 though and I'm looking forward to some amazing exclusives coming out way.

Re: Video Game Industry 'Doesn't Want a Game Pass', Says Market Analyst

cali_kush70

@Steel76 I'm right there with you.my wife and I utilize gamepass to play games beat em then move on. We also take advantage of Xbox cloud gaming when we're away from home and it works surprisingly well with a dedicated type-C mobile controller. This helps cut down the lag that comes with Bluetooth controllers.

Xbox Gamepass Ultimate is an incredible gaming service especially if you have a significant other that plays games as well.

Re: Video Game Industry 'Doesn't Want a Game Pass', Says Market Analyst

cali_kush70

30 million+ gamepass subscribers and growing is nothing to balk at. What these type of analysts want is people buying $700 PS5 pro consoles and since it's not selling well they find something else to attack. Gamepass is extremely popular and it's only grown in recent years. I personally subscribe and I have friends who've gone out and purchased an Xbox Series S just to take advantage of gamepass. I personally own a Series X, Series S and PS5 but I started this generation with a PS5 then bought a Xbox Series S in 2022 to go with my PS5 and finally got my Series X in late 2024. I can honestly say thanks to gamepass I play more games I would've never bought.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro

cali_kush70

@LogicStrikesAgain ay man, I got mad respect for you simply because you hit the hammer on the nail. It's hard to fully grasp someone's intentions behind the text, which is also why I kinda misinterpreted your response as well. The reason I got respect though is because instead of jumping to conclusions you allowed me to respond and explain my thoughts a little more in depth along with the reasoning behind them.

Trust me man, I get it. Sometimes I start biting at people myself lol especially when I think there's like negative connotations in regards to a subject we're speaking about.

So anyways, that all aside.. what games have you been enjoying lately? Doesn't strictly have to be PlayStation or even console games for that matter. For me personally, I've been obsessed with Diablo 4 again. Vessels of Hatred is more than just DLC, they completely revamped the game for the better imo. When I'm not destroying demons in D4, I've been playing MW3 Zombies. I set out to complete everything in Zombies and I finally succeeded about a week or 2 ago. I have every mission done and I've unlocked every schematic in the game. Now when I load up zombies, I try to help other people get their stuff unlocked lol it's a fun time though. Let me know what you got going on in the gaming realm!

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro

cali_kush70

@LogicStrikesAgain I'm not trying to piss anyone off, at the end of the day I've been playing PlayStation games since I got my 1st PlayStation in 1997 for my 5th birthday. I've owned every PlayStation since then. I've pretty much grown up with PlayStation apart of my life through the console generations. That's why I reiterated that I am a fan of PlayStation, I always have been.

As far as speaking for the "community" I don't speak for everyone else. It would be extremely narcissistic of me to spew my personal beliefs thinking everyone else feels the same way. I know there's a spot for the PS5 pro, a certain niche group within the community will surely live the console and that's great for them.

When I was referring to the "community" I was referencing my own experience and discussions within the community. To the hundreds of comments I've read from PS5 owners, my own discussions in the YouTube comments, to my own discussions within the PlayStation subreddit. When I take all those comments and conversations with people into consideration, I can say from what I've seen, a lot of people feel similarly in regards to the PS5 pro, as well as the pivot to live service games, a lot of PlayStation fans aren't happy with that.

I'm not here to argue with anyone man, I'm here to share my fondness with PlayStation along with all their games. Yes, I recently got a series x, yes I am happy that I now have both, and just because I expressed those sentiments doesn't mean I'm trying to put down PlayStation. I was just sharing my experience with PlayStation 5 this generation and what I've perceived as a less than stellar generation compared to previous generations.

I didn't say PlayStation didn't have exclusives, I said PlayStations pivot to live service games isn't what a lot of people got a PlayStation for in the 1st place. As far as 1st party exclusives go, the PS5 has some absolute bangers. Spiderman 2, Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West, and Ratchet and Clank Rift apart have been my favorites so far. It's 2nd party exclusives have been great as well with Helldiver's 2 & FF7 Rebirth consuming hundreds of hours of my time in 2024 lol.

I appreciate you saying all are welcome no matter what games they enjoy, I'm right there with you on that. One thing we all have in common is we love games. Most of us have enjoyed the same games so we have that in common as well. To the people who took offense to my response earlier, IDK what to tell you other than, don't get too upset. I'm just a dude who enjoys gaming. I'm not looking to argue, I'm just here to chill and talk about the medium we all enjoy. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro

cali_kush70

@EbolaGW people need to show Sony we (as a PlayStation community) aren't going to pay $700 for a console. It's absolutely ridiculous. I own a base PS5 currently, so when the PS5 pro was announced my wife asked if I was interested since I had a PS4 pro last gen, I explained to her it was a $700 console that is redundant at worst and a minimal upgrade at best. I explained that it doesn't come with a disc drive, it doesn't come with a stand and it's just not worth upgrading from my base PS5 imo. Once I told her it was $700 she just laughed and said, "wow that's ridiculous."

Sony has really lost touch with its community. 1st it was the live service push that NOBODY asked for and now it's a $700 console that didn't need to exist. IMO it is wasted resources, they should've put that money into making the games we ALL bought a PlayStation 5 for in the first place!! I'm not going to lie, the amount of cross gen games & remakes Sony has pushed this generation has really made me feel like Sony just doesn't know what its players want. We want the brilliant games that made the PS4 so popular! Bring on the damn single player exclusives that we LOVE!

Instead of selling my PS5 and paying the $350 difference to get a PS5 pro I just bought an Xbox Series X instead. Now I have the best of worlds and let me just say it's been great. Every game I bought digitally back on 360 is in my owned games library a long with the few Xbox One games I bought digitally back in the day so I've got a nice backwards compatible catalog built to go with my current gen games I've already bought on my Series S since 2021. My PS5 will serve as the machine I use to play PlayStation exclusives on and my Xbox Series X will be what I play everything else on (including a bunch of brilliant exclusives releasing over the next 18 months).

The end of the day, I'm a PlayStation fan yes. Always have been, however even more than that I'm a gamer who isn't obsessed with being a console warrior. I just want to enjoy games and while I am disappointed with PlayStation this generation, I'm hoping the cold reception to the PS5 pro and the utter failure of live service games like Concord show Sony that we (the PlayStation playerbase) want better. We don't want a $700 console when there's barely enough current gen games to even justify owning a base PS5. We don't want live service games, we want the exclusives that made the PS3 and especially the PS4 so popular in the first place. Hopefully we'll see some change of direction from PlayStation. Until then, happy gaming ✌️

Re: The Latest PS5 Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now

cali_kush70

I believe Sony is gearing up for the recently leaked project cronos update. I was actually extremely surprised by this leak, we knew Sony was working on making PS5 games available to stream but what I didn't realize was how much effort they were putting into building out their cloud gaming infrastructure. After the purchase of Gaikai in 2012 we saw PS Now launch in 2014 and it's been kinda stagnant event after merging PS Now into PS+ Premium but now we know why. Below is a reference to the project cronos leak via insider gaming. The fact they've been working on this for the past 5 years is crazy and utilizing the the PS5 SSD as well as it's custom I/I co-processors means a substantial upgrade to PlayStation cloud gaming as we know it.

It’s understood that the development of Cronos began 5 years ago due to the complexity surrounding the PlayStation 5’s SSD. Whilst the SSD is very fast in the PS5, it created a new challenge that made it impossible for Sony to develop the infrastructure needed using current technology on the market (functionality, latency, etc.). This meant that Sony, under the Future Technology Group, designed a completely new network storage solution based on PCIe (NTB) which leverages NTB and the PS5 I/O co-processors.

The final product is a custom storage server under the codename ‘Kura’ which reads up to 5 GB/s with <1ms latency.

Sources said that Sony will have a total of 28 data centers across 15 metros for the PS5 Cloud streaming rollout, with its plans to fully launch the feature in FY23 (April 2023 – March 2024).

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2023 Available to Download Now

cali_kush70

This is an excellent month. I already own cold war cross gen bundle but for me the main attraction is Alan Wake Remastered. I played it for a bit on the 360 but I was too young to cherish the game for what it was so it'll be nice to dive back into that world. I love remedy games and after beating Control I'm ecstatic for Alan Wake 2!

Re: You Need to See PlayStation Thailand's New Commercial to Believe It

cali_kush70

Another brilliant PlayStation commercial for the history books! Hope they continue this awesomeness! I also thoroughly enjoyed the PSVR2 commercial featuring Ozzy Osbourne & his wife Sharon Osbourne lol I was freaking out when I saw it for the first time a few days ago. PlayStation marketing is definitely doing a good job as of late.

Re: Ageing Hardware Like PS4, Nintendo Switch May Be Holding LEGO 2K Drive Back

cali_kush70

Cross gen releases are holding back development point blank period. It's bad enough that Nintendo wants to keep the extremely underpowered switch around another 5 years but making games that have to run on PS4 and Xbox one must be extremely challenging. The PS5 and XSX hell even the series S is a substantial upgrade from the PS4 and Xbox one generation. The CPU bottleneck alone is incredible but what people fail to understand is that the older consoles mean the DEVS can't use or have to greatly scale down newer more Modern game engines. There's a lot more systems at stake than resolution and frame rates.

I hope moving forward we start to see publishers leaving behind last gen. I can honestly say my top 2 favorite games of 2022 were horizon Forbidden West & God of War Ragnarok both are cross gen games BUT it seems moving forward the DEVS are focused on current gen. Horizon Forbidden West upcoming DLC the Burning Shores will be released solely for the PS5. The implications are clear, guerilla games is ready to leave the PS4 behind. The massive player base can actually obtain a PS5 now which is incredible because it took almost 3 years for the PS5 stock issues to subside. I hope PS5 continues selling like hotcakes and that DEVS really buckle down and start creating games that simply wouldn't be possible on last gen consoles. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: Sony Promotes the Virtues of PS5 Remote Play in Glossy Ad

cali_kush70

@sketchturner I would imagine remote play would be awesome on steam deck. You can even use remote play when you're away from home but I recommend your PS4 being wired and if it's not wired running it on WiFi with 5Ghz for the best results of using remote play over the internet.

Re: Sony Promotes the Virtues of PS5 Remote Play in Glossy Ad

cali_kush70

@Green-Bandit dude I agree with you man! The Vita was absolutely phenomenal. I had it pre-ordered so the day it released I was at GameStop & I'll never forget the gorgeous OLED display, even though it was qHD (960×544) it still outshined every TV I had at the time (my best TV at the time was a Sony Bravia LCD 1080p TV & the Vita looked better). I have hope with the success of devices like the Nintendo switch and the Steam Deck that maybe Sony will realize they can make a similar device that would sell like hot cakes. I think they'd have to do it right though, it would have to be a dedicated handheld that could hook up to a TV but more akin to steam deck rather than a switch a like lol. Yeah man remote play was incredible TBH and now on PS5 it's different without the Vita but it's just as good. My tablet has a 10.1 inch 2K display (2000×1200) and the connection with the PS5 has been really good even with internet that's not as good it still works decently. I use my tablet with my dual sense controller & it's a perfect setup. Thanks for your response, I love reminiscing about the PS Vita lol ✌️

Re: Sony Promotes the Virtues of PS5 Remote Play in Glossy Ad

cali_kush70

@Green-Bandit I understand your frustrations & I will say that using remote play on my Xbox series S works incredibly well. I don't think a lot of Xbox players realize how easy remote play is on Xbox. You don't even need a separate app, simply link your Xbox to the Xbox mobile app and you're good to go. (PlayStation has a dedicated remote play app on top of the PlayStation app).

I've been using remote play since it was a little known feature that was available on the PS3 & PSP. Then when the PS Vita + PS4 arrived is when I started using it as a genuine substitute for my TV gaming experience when I wasn't able to use the TV my PS4 was on. I've been a massive fan of remote play for many years now & I'm EXTREMELY happy to see Sony promoting it on so many devices. While I am heartbroken about the PS Vita never taking off, I'm stoked that remote play is still amazing.

When it comes to my PS5 remote play has given me the ability to enjoy my games when I am away from home. Last week when I was out of town, I decided I wanted to play some forbidden West so I setup my galaxy tablet with a pair of headphones & a dual sense controller and opened the remote play app. It took a few minutes to find my PS5 "over internet" but once it did I was in full control of my PS5. I booted up forbidden West & I played for about 3 hours straight! I couldn't believe how good the streaming was (My PS5 is hardwired at home & where I was staying had decent internet 200Mbs download with 10Mbs upload). In my 3 hours of play time there was maybe 2 or 3 small hiccups but it was nothing that was drastic. Overall I highly recommend anyone who wants to try remote play to give it a shot. It works surprisingly well and is a godsend when you're away from your PlayStation or Xbox. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: Lords of the Fallen Looks Ridiculously Good on PS5

cali_kush70

@KundaliniRising333 I'm right there with you bud, give me the options to either run dynamic 4K at 60fps or 1440p at 120fps but at least give us the options to choose. Both the PS5 and the XSX are capable of 1440p so now DEVS need to make that the standard. Give us full ray tracing capabilities at 60fps but if it can't be done at 4K then drop it to 1440p but at least we'll have the options. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: Lords of the Fallen Looks Ridiculously Good on PS5

cali_kush70

@Max_the_German I don't believe this to be the case at all. If I can run Fortnite at 1080p with 120fps on my Xbox series S then there's no way the PS5 has seen it's last games at 60fps and 120fps and in fact I believe the contrary. Most games and engines have NOT been optimized solely for the current gen hardware but instead has been scaled down in order to run on the ancient technology that is the PS4 & Xbox one. I believe we will see many games with the options to run dynamic 4K at 60fps & I'm actually hoping to see DEVS embracing 1440p resolution option so that we can see 120fps games become available. Completely writing off the current generation hardware as obsolete is foolish. I've got a family member who does game development and we talk about these things all the time. He's told me that DEVS have yet to fully take advantage of and optimize games for the Xbox series X & PS5 which makes sense given that the PS4 & Xbox one have been supported due to their massive install base so now that the PS5 and Xbox one stock woes are done the install base is ballooning which will entice devs to focus solely on current gen. I believe we've got some brilliant games coming to the PS5 & I believe we haven't seen the last of games running at dynamic 4K 60fps and I hope we see DEVS take advantage of 1440p to allow us the options to run games at 120fps. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Get a Game of the Year Edition on PS5

cali_kush70

@Jayslow it's not often I see a positive comment on a cyberpunk 2077 article so cheers to you for that. I didn't start playing the game until the dedicated PS5 version was released but I can honestly say that the improvements from day 1 on PS5 to now in early 2023 the game is incredible. Definitely a game worthy of praise for it's vastness depth. It's still NOT okay they launched the game in such an abysmal state but I am glad I decided to give it ago on PS5. I'm really looking forward to the DLC ✌️

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077's PS5 Version Actually Feels Like a Finished Game

cali_kush70

I purchased cyberpunk for PS5 while it was on sale for $24.99 and I feel like at that price it was a worthy investment. The game is far from perfect BUT it's not a 'bad' game anymore. It's really interesting and so far my favorite part of the game is exploring the side missions as much as possible while I slowly work my way through the main quest line. The game on PS5 is actually very smooth & looks great (especially compared to the Xbox one version I originally played). Frame rates are pretty consistent. The 60fps mode is my preference but damn does the ray tracing look good even at 30fps. Highly recommend giving it a shot if you're on PS5 and can find a good deal on the game. I still don't think the game is worthy of a $70 price tag just because of how horrible it was. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: The Enormous PS Store January Sale Gets Even Bigger with New PS5, PS4 Deals

cali_kush70

One game I picked up during this sale that I'm extremely glad I purchased even though it got railroaded for being 30fps is Gotham Knights. This game is absolutely phenomenal on the PS5. It looks great and it plays even better than I expected especially because the internet made such a fuss about the game running at 30fps.

Best thing about Gotham Knights is the story. It's full of amazing characters with complex stories that make you want to keep playing to find out what happens next. Each of the super heroes (Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood) has their own unique ability but what's even cooler is each character has unique story beats that apply to them so it encourages you to play as different heroes which is something I really enjoy. I'm about 20 hour into the game & I freaking love it ✌️

Re: Opinion: Why 2023 Will Be PS5's Biggest and Best Year Yet

cali_kush70

I also firmly believe we're going to see a massive year for the PlayStation 5. It'll be the year where most games will release solely for PS5 leaving the outdated PS4 behind (this is a good thing). For me personally the PS5 is the best console I've ever owned (I've owned every PlayStation since the PSone & every Xbox since the OG). The PS5 allows me to play my massive catalog of PS4 games some in even better quality than what the PS4 pro offered, combine that with the incredible PS5 games & a UI that's getting better with time. The main reason I love the PS5 above any other console is the games. Holy WOW the freaking games are mind blowing! Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank rift apart, DEATHLOOP, Spiderman Remastered, Miles Morales, and The Last if Us part 1. These are the games I've played & beaten on the PS5 (even got platinum trophy on Spiderman Remastered & Miles Morales). The PS5 has amazing games. We've got new IP, sequels, remakes & remasters ensuring there's something for everyone.

2023 is looking the be the best year for PS5 and I truly believe Sony is going to go all out with marketing & game releases to ensure they hit their target 30 million for fiscal year 2023. Can't wait to play what comes next 😎✌️

Re: GTA 5, GTA Online Getting Graphics Upgrade in PS5 Patch

cali_kush70

@Green-Bandit I absolutely agree they should remake RDR1 for PS5 because as it sits it's NOT playable at ALL on PS5. It was never brought to PS4 and they removed it from the PS+ Premium streaming service meaning the only way to play it on PlayStation is via a PS3 console which is mind boggling. I'm glad all hands are on deck for GTA 6 but I think they should have another studio at least do a remake (I actually love the GTA trilogy remaster on PS5, it got tons of hate but it's been patched and now offers the best PS2 era GTA experience). If they had another studio remaster the series there's no doubt in my mind it'd be a massive seller. On the topic of remasters, I recently downloaded GTA 4 on my XSX and damn it was a great game. It's another GTA property that I believe deserves to be remastered. The core game & it's DLC are fantastic, especially the DLC for me was phenomenal.

GTA online is pretty cool on PS5. The load times are so much better than before & the Dr Dre missions were pretty awesome. Playing them solo is just as rewarding as playing them with a friend. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: GTA 5, GTA Online Getting Graphics Upgrade in PS5 Patch

cali_kush70

@Green-Bandit Red Dead Redemption 2 DESERVES a next gen patch or hell I'd even take a remake of the damn game but the performance of RDR2 on PS5 is abysmal to say the least. The game is technically the PS4 pro version running on PS5. The game looks good graphically but it's so DARK like hard to see dark and it doesn't matter how bright I turn my TV it doesn't matter my HDR settings nothing fixes it. I'm playing on a 2021 OLED TV that uses HDMi 2.1 so I don't think that's the issue and from what I've read online a lot of people experience the same issue.

GTA5 looks phenomenal on PS5, I absolutely LOVE replaying the story and the load times are Soo much better than before! Can't wait till we get an announcement or update on GTA 6 cuz as it sits I only play GTA online when there's a significant update.

Re: Fortnite's Graphics Get a Huge Next-Gen Upgrade on PS5

cali_kush70

Fortnite looks absolutely phenomenal on PS5! IDK if it's just me but the game 'feels' smoother than what it was last season. I was afraid there'd be frame rate dips but nope, it's a solid 60fps no matter how chaotic the action gets. It's a little jarring when I visit my little brother and played the new season on his OG Xbox one from 2013 and damn it's not even close to what's available on next gen. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: God of War Ragnarok: Can You Keep Playing After Beating the Story?

cali_kush70

I have completed most of the side activities in the game and I'm at the end part so I didn't want to go any further if I couldn't continue all the side activities. The only things I'm missing is a few chests and like 5 ravens so I will definitely be back after Ragnarok lol the article saved me from spoiler so I appreciate it

Re: Huge Saints Row Patch Out Now on PS5, PS4

cali_kush70

@IndoorEnthusiast I agree it definitely needed a few more months in the oven. That being said it's still a super fun game to play, I look at it like a giant playground that I get to run around and wreak havoc in with my brother. Co-op is the most fun for me, I'm actually excited to see this 20GB update focusing a lot on performance, bugs, gameplay, balancing & co-op. Definitely going to pick it back up again! (God of War Ragnarok has kept me busy plus MW2 is something I play with a group of friends daily after work). Happy gaming ✌️

Re: God of War Ragnarok Day One Patch Notes Revealed

cali_kush70

I appreciate the spoiler warning from Push Square 💯 I pre ordered the digital deluxe edition of God of War Ragnarok yesterday and about an hour after it was done downloading it had an update so I'm pretty sure this was the day one patch which I'm glad it's already done downloading. I can't freaking wait for this to release! I finished my second full scale playthrough of God of War 2018 about 3 weeks ago. (Side note playing God of War 2018 on PS5 with dynamic 4K at 60fps is a completely different experience compared to the base PS4 version, it's like a brand new game TBH).

I'm so excited for Ragnarok & everyone here I wish you guys an amazing playthrough! Happy gaming ✌️

Re: PS5 Players Don't Want to See 60fps Die Out

cali_kush70

@nessisonett I agree 💯 percent! Going forward I feel like there should be an option available for 60fps whether it's a drop in resolution in order to get it done (dynamic 4K at 60fps or even 1440p at 60fps) or even like a drop in features like forgoing Ray tracing in favor of 60fps (like how cyberpunk 2077 does on PS5).

I also believe certain games can perform just fine at 30fps but DEVS should try to make 60fps a priority option.

Re: Hands On: God of War Ragnarok on PS5, PS4 Is PlayStation At Its Pomp

cali_kush70

I've been playing God of War since the original. Excellent games but to be honest 2018's game REALLY just put the series on a pedestal for me. I first beat the game on my PS4 pro in 2018 and I was thinking it couldn't possibly get any better. Then I after it was patched for PS5 I beat it a second time & to be honest it was so much better than the first, partly because I completed every side quest the game had to offer on top of the resounding masterpiece that is the main campaign. The sequel can't get here soon enough imo! Can't freaking wait 😁🙌

Re: Trio of PS Plus Assassin's Creed Games Won't Be Playable on PS5

cali_kush70

@Darude84 assassin's Creed Origins is great on PS5 as it's been patched for 4K and 60fps and it's a great game but the BEST Assassin's Creed game to play in PS5 is Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It's also been patched to run at 4K & 60fps but it's probably the biggest game I've ever played. I've got 70hours + into the game and still haven't completed the game (I did get the version that has ALL the content ever made for Odyssey). It's truly breathtaking & by far the best of the newer AC games. Valhalla was truly the biggest disappointment for me, sure it looks great on PS5 but they destroyed the movement and fighting mechanics because now it's tied to a ridiculous stamina bar.

AC Origins & AC Odyssey are phenomenal games and have been patched to be even better on PS5. Hope this helps, happy gaming ✌️

Re: Sony Headhunts Nike Honcho to Help Build PlayStation's Brand

I've been playing PlayStation since I was 5 years old in 1996. Over 20 years later I'm still with PlayStation loving my PS5 but I'll be honest Jim Ryan has really dropped the ball. He seems more interested in PlayStation competing with Apple then actually focusing on the players. Herman Hulst isn't bad but with Jim Ryan in control it feels arbitrary.

PlayStation gamers need more games to play on PS5. Not cross gen titles, or remastered cash grabs, we NEED true PS5 exclusives that show how amazing the console is. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: PS Plus Essential's PS5, PS4 Games Announced for October 2022

cali_kush70

I'd love to see some more first party games releasing to subscribers. I love what's on PS plus extra but it definitely needs more playstation exclusives. I hope to see forbidden West sometime soon as it's a game I missed on release. I bought God of War, spiderman remastered, death loop, miles morales and ratchet and clank rift apart day one and they're all brilliant games I just wish we got more included with our subscriptions

Re: Rumour: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2022 Possibly Leaked

cali_kush70

@Ravix what I decided to do was unplug my 2TB external HDD from my PS4 and link it to my PS5 so now ALL the back catalog PS4 titles are stored on the external HDD saving that precious SSD space specifically for PS5 games 😎 also you can find a 1TB external HDD for about $45 or a 2TB for about $60 if you look on Amazon. Happy gaming ✌️

Re: State of Play Confirmed, Showcasing Third Party PS5, PS4 Games

cali_kush70

@IonMagi I agree 💯 percent with you. The state of Play should be at the very least 40 minutes, now if they did a SoP every 3 months it'd be a different story and 20 minutes would be acceptable. I truly hope we get some surprises but I'm definitely keeping my expectations on the lower side so I could be pleasantly surprised ✌️

Re: Mini Review: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5) - A Marginal Upgrade on Backwards Compatibility

cali_kush70

@Vivisapprentice I downloaded the game when it first became available and it was buggy and my back catalog was so massive I uninstalled the game to focus on miles morales platinum & spiderman remastered platinum trophies (I got both the plants). Now in 2022 I have once again downloaded Jedi fallen order PS5 & I'm happy to report that 90% of the bugs have been squashed. The game looks absolutely phenomenal but more importantly I haven't noticed a single hiccup so far (I'm about 7 hours in). I played the first 3 hours at native 4K with 30fps and it's a gorgeous sight to behold BUT I've recently switched to the 60fps performance mode & in all honesty the drop in resolution is barely noticeable on my 43inch 4K TV. I really appreciate the smooth 60fps especially when battling storm troopers & all the other baddies lol. I'm really enjoying this game, I'm glad I held off on diving deep into the game until now ✌️

Re: PS5 Screenshot, Video Captures Being Slowly Integrated into the PS App Worldwide

cali_kush70

@theheadofabroom agreed 💯 percent! Sony is an extremely competent company who knows how to create a system that's full of brilliant games and awesome features. I've had my PS5 for 6 months now, it's the BEST console I've ever owned and it's slowly but steadily introducing brilliant quality of life updates and features! Instead of people jumping straight to outrage for missing features, be patient with Sony as they're obviously listening to fans feedback. Can't wait to see what comes next ✌️

Re: Soapbox: How Discord Will Change the Way We Play PS5, PS4 Together in 2022

cali_kush70

Discord integration on PlayStation would be absolutely phenomenal because it's potential to connect communities is astronomical! My wife and I use discord to connect our twitch communities together but my main issue with discord is how incredibly difficult it is to navigate (especially on mobile where I use it 90% of the time). I hope with PlayStation integration we get a much more straightforward easy to use experience because as it sits now discord is convoluted. Either way I'm definitely looking forward to see what comes of this venture, the possibilities are endless! Happy gaming ✌️

Re: Retro Future Sci-Fi Thriller The Invincible Looks Out of This World on PS5

cali_kush70

Very intriguing, the teaser looks good! I'm definitely pleasantly surprised why this! I've got to say, the PS5 has by far exceeded my expectations. last week I got platinum trophy for Spider-Man remastered (the visual, haptics & gameplay are noticably better than the PS4 version). I'm now 5 trophies away from platinum in Spider-Man Miles Morales. I'm also a third way through my first play through of Ratchet & Clank Rift apart, it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm extremely excited for what the future holds! Even PS4 games are next level on PS5 as I was completely blown away by the PS5 patch for God of War & Last of Us 2 happy gaming 😎🎮✌️
