Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 PlayStation 5 1

As we reported on recently, Cyberpunk 2077 is enjoying something of a resurgence on new-gen consoles, with more people playing than ever before. And as CD Projekt RED builds up to the release of the game’s first – and, admittedly, final – expansion, it’s confirmed that it is plotting a Game of the Year bundle for systems such as the PS5.

The package was revealed by joint-CEO Adam Kiciński in a report published by Polish website Stockwatch, where he admitted that the sci-fi RPG will follow in the footsteps of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by offering a definitive edition once all of the content is available. “It's the natural order of things,” he said.

Kiciński elaborated: “It was the same with The Witcher, which, after both expansions, was finally released as a Game of the Year edition and has been on the market that way ever since. The same can be expected in this case.”

Major story expansion The Phantom Liberty will launch some time next year, and will only be available on new-gen systems like the PS5, following the game’s disastrous performance on older consoles such as the PS4. The good news is that Cyberpunk 2077 is a lot more enjoyable these days – in fact, we awarded it an 8/10 in our PS5 re-review.
