While I personally don't play mobile games, I get that the market for them is massive especially in Asia. Out of all the live service stuff Sony has showed these two seem the most interesting outside of Helldivers 2.
Personally, I found Atsu to be an equal protagonist to Jin but I did prefer Tsushima's story over Yotei. The open world and gameplay are better in Yotei. So, I guess they are equal in my opinion.
@PuppetMaster I hope they do remaster their 2D ones. I'm just saying that the reason they aren't yet is they will take time compared to the 3D ones as the code may be harder to recreate or port. I want all Tales games on modern platforms so I hope they do the hard work
@Nepp67 I get it. I prefer the ? mark type of games but I get why its gone. I just have a map open on my pc for after the cartographer stops giving me maps or I've explored the majority of the area.
So far it's really good. Combat has more options which is great. The map is decent but i do miss the ? marks from tsushima. They did a great job getting you to find stuff in the open world but it does feel gimmicky. I do wish the story had more weight behind it as so far I've only felt compelled to explore and at near 20hrs still haven't killed any members of the Yotei Six.
Used to buy multiple games a month but this year I've dropped considerably. At best I buy once a month. However, I do have a considerable backlog so I'm not sure if that has influenced my not spending as much.
Bungie should have done Destiny 3 back when the PS5 launched. I would love to go back to Destiny as the gameplay is great but getting back into it is impossible at this point. I do think Destiny 3 would have been a massive profit for Bungie and Sony at this point if they'd greenlit it back when they bought the studio.
It's an 8 at best. The story was outstanding with each ending being well worth getting. Loved the atmosphere and world. Great music. The combat though wasn't good especially on harder settings. Also I had numerous frame rate issues toward the end of the game when you had to deal with multiple combat encounters back to back while chasing the fog. So if not for the story it'd be a 7 but the story brings it up for me.
Dropping right next to one of my favorite games of all time, Final Fantasy Tactics, makes it so that Ghost of Yotei is a wait to play for now. Hopefully I'll get it next month but might wait till next year.
I still find the game good but flawed. I think that is down to the story being poorly edited. Playing Ellie then Abby really didn't flow well to me. Should have been reversed in several instances. Gameplay was good but found enemies saying someone was dead was hilarious as I kept thinking about how south park used to kill kenny all the time and it felt the same way in the game.
I did pay early access for Silent Hill 2 as I wanted to play it that weekend. I have no problem with the concept as it is an easy way to get more money without stripping out content or locking stuff behind a deluxe version.
Looks really good but just like A Way Out and It Takes Two, I'm not touching a game that forces Co-Op. If it was optional I'd be there day one but I'm not playing a story heavy game Co-Op.
Oblivion is a game I really want to play but the original always felt dated to me. Hopefully this remake makes it much more modern and I can finally play thru it.
Really need to know more before I consider getting hyped for it. If it tells a good story and has good gameplay I'm in but having a new protagonist is disheartening.
Final Fantasy VIII is easily the second best Final Fantasy game on PS1 behind only Final Fantasy Tactics. Loved Triple Triad and collecting the GFs. Drawing to get magic was such a cool system if a bit poorly implemented. Biggest issue I had with the game was that leveling up kind of problematic as enemies are leveled to you if I'm remembering correctly. Still, hopefully we will see a full remake of VIII at some point.
Yeah, I'll pass on the PS5 Pro. Seriously wonder how this thing will do on the mass market. $700 plus tax is way too much and I don't see the average consumer buying into it.
So far I'm loving Visions of Mana. Outside of some weird slow down in a boss fight, I've had no other issues. Honestly, feels like what i imagined a PS1/PS2 JPRG remade to the letter would look and feel like on a PS5.
@SlipperyFish I don't want it to sound like I don't see a PS5 Pro as a decent idea, but I just don't see it making as big of a splash as PS4 Pro did. I also question the reason to do a Pro version as if i remember right from the Activision court documents both companies were looking at 2026 or 2027 as the next gen years. I also feel like consoles need to differentiate themselves from PCs more and not go down the rabbit hole of regular upgrades. I still remember seeing early gen PS1 games and then the late gen ones and seeing just how far we came. Same with PS2 and PS3. Donkey Kong Country is still mind-blowing because of what it did to SNES and that required staying the course rather than constantly upgrading like SEGA did.
@GreatAuk I'm really not so sure for the general public. For the hardcore gamer 60FPS and above would be great, but I don't think the general gaming audience cares all that much so graphics are the main selling point for most gamers. But, how much can the PS5 Pro improve graphics to sell to a general consumer like the PS4 Pro did.
@SlipperyFish I do play many 60 FPS games but personally they really don't feel any different from 30 FPS for me. As for Wu Kong, we still don't know how the Xbox version will be handled but if they go the route of Baldur's Gate 3 then a PS5 pro might do well but if they only allow non parity sparingly it could mean multiplatform games can't be much better on PS5 Pro then PS5 cause of it. Obviously it is still dependent on each companies willingness to invest in performance modes for each console but still. The economic issues still are my main concern. Where the PS4 Pro came out during a good economic period and need to get better performance, The PS4 is still getting games and a PS5 Pro really doesn't have much value as a result.
Seems like a waste as all multiplatform games still have to work on the Xbox series s. Also what really is going to be majorly different on the ps5 pro then ps5. Graphics are now at a point where it is minuscule improvements. Load times are fine. 60FPS is probably the only thing that can be improved but honestly still don't see much value in games being at 60 instead of 30 FPS. Unless I real valid reason can be sold to the consumer i don't think the pro is going to be well received. Especially not in this economy.
Dark Souls 2 is my favorite dark souls game. Loved that enemies vanished after killing them so many times. Made it feel I was constantly making progress despite dying a lot.
Wow. Totally saw this coming. The market is too saturated at this point so unless you make an amazing product or one that has a lot of marketing best prepare for layoffs.
Kinda happy I didn't buy it then. Platinumed Elden Ring back when it launched but seriously just don't see much point to playing the DLC. Difficult never interested me and honestly was the worst aspect of the base game for me.
That initial trailer was awesome. Thought it would be a space adventure made by a Sony team only to then see the 5v5 gameplay that looked like an Overwatch clone at best. Characters could be good but doesn't matter if the gameplay is just another run of the mill multiplayer shooter.
That was one of the worst state of plays they have ever done. So many free to play or multiplayer games. Where are the games I got a PS5 to see. Astro Bot, Silent Hill 2, and Dynasty Warriors Origins seem interesting. Monster Hunter Wilds looks good but not for me. But most other reveals were either confusing as to what they were or were just boring. Concord seemed cool to start only to see the actual gameplay and immediately lose all interest in it.
I think the biggest problem I've had with strategy games is they are too complicated to get into or do things that take you out of the experience quickly. A shame sadly as I love Civilization but so many strategy games just aren't welcoming to new players.
Honestly, I didn't even know these two had online multiplayer until I heard about all the anger online. I always played it solo or local back on the PS2 and when i booted it up over the weekend I did the same and had a blast. One of the most fun experiences I've had this year.
Honestly, didn't even know the trailer was not well received. Personally I thought it was the first real look at the gameplay and it looked good to me.
Awesome. Hope Resident Evil 5 remake is good. But, am i the only one that wants to see Resident Evil 1 and 0 in the style of the remakes. Having recently played the first resident evil this year, i couldn't help but feel that it needs a remake. Maybe it'll actually make it scary like re2 and 3 remake.
I like my PS5 but it feels like we are only just beginning with it. Really hope we have quite a few years left till they replace it with PS6. PS3 is still the best console for me but PS5 is getting closer.
While it's not the best selection, I'm not going to complain about it. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is probably the only game I'm cautiously interested in. Already own Mafia II Definitive Edition.
This article is kinda misleading as the people who are going to buy the game are the casual audience who sees it and just buys it at full price. While $50 seems high, it makes sense to me given the bundling of Red Dead and Undead Nightmare. Not justifying it and definitely not buying it until its on sale but I understand the cost for the game.
I think State of Play is just not exciting to me. This one was especially me overall. I think the concept itself doesn't make me care about the games at all and never has at this point.
I've been having issues justifying $70 games as i used to for $60 dollar games. i think it is a psychological thing as on the PSN story games appear as 69.99 which in my brain for some reason rounds it up closer too 100 which makes me hesitate to buy the game. Where 59.99 to me at least rounds down to 50 so I don't think too hard about the purchase. ' It may be only me but 69.99 is really making me change my purchasing habits. I didn't even pick some games that previously I would buy without a second thought.
God I hope they bring the XIII trilogy to PS5. It may be the PTSD from platinuming Final Fantasy XIII but I found it to be one of my favorite Final Fantasy games overall.
