Tales of Xillia Remastered is out on PS5 in just over a week, and we're looking forward to it — but will Tales of Xillia 2 get the same treatment?
The answer to that increasingly popular query is yes, according to a new Famitsu interview with series director Yusuke Tomizawa (as reported by ryokutya2089).
Tomizawa reveals that a remaster of the direct sequel is currently in development, and tells fans that more information will be released as soon as possible.
Of course, this confirmation will inevitably prompt a bit of a backlash — if it hasn't already. If the plan was to always remaster both Xillia games, why not bundle them together? A duology would have obviously made so much sense.

It's possible that Tomizawa and the team will give us an official answer in the near future, but we're guessing it's down to development cycles and... well, making money.
Xillia Remastered isn't a full price game at $39.99 / £34.99, but Bandai Namco knows it can double up by releasing both Xillia remasters separately. You've also then got the option of bundling them together at a later date, and hooking additional buyers.
How do you feel about this news? Are you put off buying Xillia, knowing Xillia 2 could be bundled with it at a later date? Chain some arts together in the comments section below.
