Whilst I fully understand that people are buying less games and as a community here we do not represent the vast majority of people buying (or not buying) game.
I also appreciate that studios are trying to respond to this with multiplayer live service offerings as way to make money. They are welcome to spend their money and invest in whatever projects they want - but I do find it frustrating that it puts a studio making games I like in financial jeopardy for a type of game that has such a huge failure rate.
Even though Control was my favourite game on the PS4, I didn't even download this free offering.
I loved Control. Favourite game on the PS4, but seeing this GAAS coming over the horizon felt like a waste of development time on something that wouldn't fit the narrative based approach to that universe.
I loved the first Dragon's Dogma on PS3, so was super excited for this, but, despite the larger world the game was nowhere near as much fun and I often spent ages trying to work out what the game expected me to do next.
I used to be excited and pre-order most games I wanted.
But I realised I was paying full price to beta test someone's partially finished & bug ridden games.
I now wait around 6 months and pay half the launch price, the game has more features, less bugs and there's usually a guide if I'm stuck.
I recently picked up Star Wars Outlaws cheap and whilst it was bobbins at launch, waiting 6 months gave me a much better experience and not at a premium price.
If games are going to be this expensive they need to launch in a lot better state than they do now.
Does look good (but I still haven't go round to playing Mirage) I usually wait at least 6 months before starting any new game so they've time to sort everything out.
Calisto Protocol says it's updated in the store, but I don't think it actually is, it's kinda hard to actually tell what's been patched and what it planned to be patched.
Would be useful to have a future article on how to a PS5 and PS5 Pro in the same household sharing digital content between the two machines (I passed my PS4 to my son and that was very easy), but these two machines being in the same family makes this process slightly different.
@TrevorO I'd like to know about inverting controls too - I also bought the PS3 version and the inability to invert meant I had to stop playing as well.
I would love to experience the lore and worlds of a lot of these games (I made it just past the Taurus Demon in Dark Souls) but the sheer level of frustration of being knocked off ledges and losing everything just wasn't worth the hassle.
I'd love an easy option so I could just explore the worlds, which I know the fanbase hate the idea of, but adding an option for lightweights like me wouldn't impact their experiece of the game at all.

Re: Poor Showing for DOOM: The Dark Ages on PS5 Pro
Never buy anything at launch. You pay a premium to be a tester for their software.
Wait a few months for a more elegant and feature rich experience at half the price.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Oblivion Remastered?
Best to wait for a few patches before starting.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5?
I bought it to show some support with my wallet for more titles like this to come to PlayStation.
I won't start playing until all the DLC and patches are out to get the best experience.

Re: The Oblivion Remake Will Release This Week, Says Bold New Rumour
If they've updated Gamebryo engine for this maybe they are also doing Fallout 3 in time for Season 2 of the Amazon TV show.... We can but hope.

Re: Gallery: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Comparison Screenshots Show PS5, PS4 Glow Up
Really excited to play this again, THPS3 was rarely out of my PS2.
Let's have SSX Tricky and Simpsons Hit & Run next please.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think of the PS5 Pro, Three Weeks Later?
Really pleased with mine, playing games in 60FPS with the settings turned up does make a difference.
It's not transformational or a generational leap, but it is a really nice upgrade.

Re: Guerrilla's Next Horizon Game May Launch Sometime in 2025 on PS5
Please not another online game, just stick with what the series does well.
Re: How to Transfer Data from PS5 to PS5 Pro
Also good to know how different access to the SSD to swap in is.

Wasn't there supposed to be a current gen re-release of F4? Or did I dream that?
Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About the PS5 Pro?
Switch 2 will be a 100+ TFLOP beast, so Sony needs to do something to keep up with the new Nintendo powerhouse.
