Re: Sony Buffed PS5's Wishlist, But It's Been Broken for Weeks Now

TrannosaurusBex

Only ever used the PS wishlist until I found out it had a limit. Now I use psprices to see the new lowest prices and only keep games that have been announced on the PS wishlist.

Yes, I am one of those people with over 100, currently sitting at 140. Obviously, some of those games I will never end up buying, but I have a wide taste in games and there are a lot of good looking indy/smaller budget games out there that my memory cannot keep track of.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy 2, Expanded First Game Both Reportedly in the Works

TrannosaurusBex

Simple answer; no. Hogwarts Legacy is such a bore fest outside of the main story quests.

I only started playing it recently and I honestly can't understand all the hype this game got when it first released. With all the rubbish to collect there are no true challenging puzzles and, outside of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, like 1 NPC to do a simple quest for in each town.

How on earth are they making a completely new game, let alone more content for the first? I doubt it will sell anywhere near as well as the first.

Re: Would You Pay $100 for GTA 6?

TrannosaurusBex

I think they plan to sell for £80-100, but I think it'll just be pure greed because they don't need to with all the money they make from the online.

Ideally, I want to wait until PS6 to pick this up, since why get the PS5 version when a slightly better version is only a few years away?

I also can't remember the last time I bought a game on release due to their £70 price tags and being buggy messes (plus the 100+ other games I've still to play or finish).

However, I can see myself caving on this due to the FOMO.. it's still a GTA game after all. I might just wait a week or two after release to make up my mind.

Re: Unfortunately, PS5's Disc Drive Add-On Shortage Doesn't Seem to Be Getting Better

TrannosaurusBex

I'm so glad my Pro came with a drive bundled in.

Agree with what others are saying though, Sony is definitely trying to force people to be digital only and it's horrid. Until the store isn't a closed platform discs should exist.

I literally just bought a physical copy of a remake of a 30 year old game for the nostalgia and limited edition content. Could have got it £7 cheaper on the store, but the game means something to me so I want to see it's case on my shelf.

Re: PS5 Users Are Begging for Themes, PS1 Startup Screen to Stay

TrannosaurusBex

The thing is, they've now admitted that themes for the PS5 are something which are completely possible, so why haven't we had them from the beginning?

Personally, I think most of these themes suck, the PS1 theme is particularly hideous. However, all they need to do to fix some niggly bits is to reduce the size of the headers and footers slightly, and add toggles for transparency, or reduce the game 'theme' so it doesn't lay behind the header.

I choose the PS3 theme in the end because the header is slightly transparent by default, but I also think the clock part is too chunky, and I don't like the icons present at the right hand side of the footer.

Re: Sony Is Going All Out for PlayStation's 30th Anniversary in the UK

TrannosaurusBex

@GamingFan4Lyf I agree that, these days, PS probably doesn't have to have the same huge marketing campaigns that it might have needed back in the PS3 days. However, they clearly still think they do, and they're the ones who can see the metrics on what is and what isn't making them money. Clearly they still feel like these campaigns are necessary.

Personally, even though I'm unlikely to ever see one in real life, I think the campaigns are fun. That one a bit back where they changed the station signs to PS logos was pretty cool.

Saying that, I also agree that your point about the environmental impact is very valid as well.

Re: Sony Is Going All Out for PlayStation's 30th Anniversary in the UK

TrannosaurusBex

@GamingFan4Lyf saying their advertising has fared them well, and then saying they should scale back the spending in the same sentence is counter intuitive.

We all know the saying "you've got to spend money to make money" and that's exactly what PS have been doing. If they hadn't spent the money in the first place, do you think they would have the market dominance they have at the moment?

Re: One Month Later, PS Stars Cash Rewards Finally Return

TrannosaurusBex

@Nakatomi_Uk it was always 1250 points.

I also think this was all just a bug since everyone's experience has been different. For me, I think all options disappeared after the PS Stars outage, then the £10 option showed up again, and now the £5 option is showing again. I don't put the bugs past PS, considering the PS+ discount sales are also usually an absolute mess in terms of who's entitled to them.

Re: PlayStation Exec Shuhei Yoshida Will Leave the Company in January

TrannosaurusBex

Geez, a couple of people in these comments truly showing they don't have a clue, banging on about corporate greed in relation to one of, if not the, greatest PS employee of all time.

Reiterating what others have said, this is a massive loss to the company, as it continues to feel like PS loses the soul it once had, brought to us by people like Shu.

I also do think this is part of the reason he's left but not retired. I think it's clear he doesn't want to be a part of a faceless company anymore. I thought companies were starting to realise the more involved and responsive you are to your customers, the more success you're likely to have? I guess not Sony.

Re: PS Plus Black Friday Discounts Again Seem Completely Random

TrannosaurusBex

Those getting offered the discount while they're subscribed should count themselves lucky. I just went a year or two of being unsubscribed (apart from a random month here or there) because I wanted to downgrade from Premium to Extra but the offers didn't show up for me.

Thankfully, it showed up this year and I'm now subscribed to Extra. I'll keep checking back before 2nd Dec in case it decides to also let me stack it.

Re: Rumour: EA Going All-In on Battlefield 6 in Bold Attempt to Revitalise Franchise

TrannosaurusBex

BF2 - great game
BFBC1 - good at the time of it's release, for a console game
BFBC2 - amazing game for it's time period with the level of destruction possible
BF3 - great multiplayer, with destruction still close to that of BFBC2
BF4 - more of the same of BF3, good times
BF Hard Line - the less we say the better
BF1 - a decent enough MP, if a little barebones and rubbish destruction. Time period not for me
BF5 - extremely barebones, rubbish destruction, and again the time period was not for me
BF2042 - decent enough after a year or 2 of patches, however new class/squad system ruins it, along with the rubbish destruction

They need a return to the class system of the original games (which they have confirmed), to reduce the player count from 128 to 64 again (also confirmed, I believe), and add in destruction similar to that of The Finals (similar to BFBC2) for BF6 to be something I'll spend years on.

Re: Strong Fan Backlash Forces Treyarch to Reverse Black Ops 6 XP Token Erasure

TrannosaurusBex

@thefourfoldroot1 @ahmadsumadi afaik, the points always had an expiry date, they just halved it. Also, the option to convert points to money is there, they just took away the £5 and £20 options, I assume in the hope that people wouldn't build up enough points in time to redeem them, or just forget about it all together. You may need to clear your cache and storage data for it to reshow if it isn't there for you.

Not defending what they did, just providing info.

Re: PS5 Pro Unboxings Now Online, Same Box Basically

TrannosaurusBex

@Trojan why bother attacking someone who is clearly excited about THEIR purchase, with THEIR money. Even worse, you had to inflate the price they paid by 25% to try and make your point (300 is closer to 320 than 400, but I guess that wouldn't have helped your salty reply as much, huh?)

Edit; oh, I see. You joined on Monday and already have multiple posts removed.

Re: Don't Nod Staff to Strike in Paris, Workers Demand Redundancy Plan Be Abandoned

TrannosaurusBex

@somnambulance now I know Jusant is made by them I feel like I should buy it in the current sale!

Played the first Life is Strange and remember enjoying it, but I haven't managed to find the energy to play another one. I guess it didn't grab me as much as I initially remember.

Remember Me is a great game people should try it they haven't already.

Edit; good luck to the team with their demands!

Edit edit; just checked out a list of their games on PSN Profiles.. Harmony also looks like another great game from them. I love their art style

Re: Sony's Guerrilla Sounds Completely Done with the Killzone Series

TrannosaurusBex

@McTwist I don't need to say it because it's plainly obvious you're fighting a losing battle, but if I must spell it out;

There's a reason why game design has moved on and diversity is more of a thing these days, because that's what people want (surprisingly, people like to be represented). If it wasn't, we wouldn't be here. At the end of the day, you've got to remember that companies do a hell of a lot of market research to find out what's more likely to sell their goods. Unfortunately, you seem to be on the side of the loud minority in this case.

The only recent massive flop I can think of is Concord but, honestly, it just looked like a stale and boring game trying to release in what is now a saturated market, to a group of gamers (PS fans) who historically choose PS for their renowned single player titles, not this live service rubbish.

Re: Video: 2025 Is Shaping Up to Be PS5's Best Year Yet

TrannosaurusBex

@AaronBayne Great video! Get it embedded in an article! 😅

Kind of looks like you're playing on PC, but, if you're on PS and ever struggling for a full party, hit me up (same alias as here). We have a large group of decent EU players in a couple of different party chats, I can add you to the more chill party which has no b****ing compared to the bigger chat.

Re: Video: 2025 Is Shaping Up to Be PS5's Best Year Yet

TrannosaurusBex

@AaronBayne ah ha, thought that might have been the case! I can't decide if 4 was better than 5 but just let down by the shoddy frame rate.

That's another thing I meant to mention; if there are staff members like yourself who enjoy The Finals, how come you guys don't promote it a bit more by at least making an article for the start of each season? Let's be honest, it needs the boost in player count, especially for ranked PS only lobbies this season 😬

Re: Video: 2025 Is Shaping Up to Be PS5's Best Year Yet

TrannosaurusBex

So many great looking games, yet so little time to play them all 🥲

For me it was Arc Raiders; I'm the same as Aaron, I've enjoyed the finals so much I'm itching to see what Embark can do with a fleshed out world.

Little Nightmares 3; yet to play the 2nd game, but I love a good atmospheric indie game!

And, of course, last but certainly not least, GTA 6; I'm hyped for this but, with how long it's taking to come out, I reckon I'll just end up waiting to get the PS6 version.

@aaronbayne "16 when the first game dropped, 29 by the time 6 is out" huh? GTA goes back much further than that 🤔 I played the very first GTA in my early-mid teens and I'm nearly 40 now!
