Re: Rumour: MultiVersus Season 5 Could Be the End for Free-to-Play Fighter

Tobimune

I'll be sad to see it go because it's improved a lot since launch. Unfortunately it hasn't been able to shake it's negative reputation.

And to the Smash/Brawlhalla/Rivals players celebrating its downfall...it's not like MvS shutting down is going to bring us over to your game lol

I'll just go back to Tekken and Street Fighter

Re: Poll: How Would You Have Reacted to a Live Service God of War Announcement?

Tobimune

I guess it depends on what exactly a live service GoW game would be.

As for the future obviously more single player experiences as GoW has been for practically it's entire existence outside of the online mode Ascension had

And id love to see remakes/remasters of the original trilogy and the PSP games but worry they'd suffer from heavy censorship. Not that I need the dumb sex mini games to enjoy them but let's be honest, that topic alone would cause controversy whether you're for it or against it lol

Re: Would You Pay $100 for GTA 6?

Tobimune

Never

Especially when I know it'll be the only mainline GTA game until PS7 and I can get it cheaper later with all the updates/polish already released

It's not like these games will ever capture the magic of the PS2 Era GTAs for me so I can be patient on this one

Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation

Tobimune

I enjoyed the two mainline Horizon games but I can definitely live without a movie.

Maybe if they got the director and writers of Prey (2022) Dan Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison to tackle it the film could be something special, but I don't know who else could really pull off a good Horizon movie that actually captures the essence of the games.

Re: Talking Point: Is PlayStation Right in Saying PC Isn't a 'Major Risk' to Console Business?

Tobimune

They're right. A ton of people (myself included) have no interest in dealing with the hassles that come along with building a PC or replacing specific parts of it.

I want to plug it in and play video games. I'm not trying to worry about having to replace or upgrade GPU, CPU, SSD/HDD, PSU, RAM, cooling systems, Motherboard etc.

It's a pain in the butt and I have no interest in it.

Re: Helldivers 2's Creative Director's Latest Comments Have Landed Him in Hot Water

Tobimune

Diversity/inclusion isn't inherently political or bad unless your brain is wired to think that's the case.

Let's rewind back to Street Fighter 2. It has men and women from all over the world in it...but nobody cried about "DEI" or "Woke" when it came out.

It's all about how it's handled/executed. Tekken has men and women from all over the world too, and they all speak their native language in-game, and I don't see chuds crying about it.

So what separates those games from let's say, a Concord? On a surface level id say it's character designs that are appealing to the players.

When I tried Concord during it's free weekend I literally sat there for minutes trying to decide who to try because none of them appealed to me, they just about all looked dumb so I tried the robot.

When Street Fighter 6 launched I booted it up and saw multiple characters I wanted to try right away like Kimberly, Lily, Marisa, Deejay, Manon, Jamie etc.

And for those unaware, Kimberly is a Black American woman, Lily is a Mexican girl, Marisa is a huge muscular Italian woman, Dee Jay is a Jamaican man, Manon is a woman from France, and Jamie is a guy from Hong Kong.

Pretty diverse right? The main difference is the characters in Street Fighter 6 look cool, fun, or interesting in one way or another. Concord had the diversity, but the characters looked terrible.

Diversity, equality and inclusion in games are all good things, however you still have to make a game people actually want to play.

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Says It Hopes Everyone Is 'Living in Love' After Naughty Dog Artist's Interpretation of Eve Is Unfairly Criticised

Tobimune

The first one has an odd face that doesn't look like Eve, the second one actually looks like Eve.

And all art is fair to criticize, even artists depicting other characters. For example I think almost all of WarnerBros.animated DC movies/cartoons have an ugly art style. Superman has a square head and Charlie Brown eyes. It doesn't look good to me, but the artstyle in My Adventures With Superman does appeal to me.

I've seen Tite Kubo (Bleach) draw Dragon Ball characters and thought it looked great, I also have seen Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) draw Dragon Ball characters and didn't think his style really worked for DB characters.

I don't see how people criticizing this is any different if they don't think it looks good so long as they aren't being nasty or hateful.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Action Game of 2024

Tobimune

@Tchunga I actually see where you're coming from with that, DD2 definitely has a wider variety of ways to fight than the others I mentioned.

I suppose when I think "ARPG" I generally think of more high speed combat or the more Soulsborne style methodical combat.

I loved DD2 btw, I just suppose if we're talking ARPG SB and Wukong scratched that itch a little more for me whereas DD2 had fun and diverse combat, but the open world aspect with time sensitive quests seemed more like it was more about the adventure, exploration and story.

SB and Wukong just have that high octane combat I tend to enjoy a bit more than DD's combat style.

All great games though. Space Marine 2 was awesome as well. We were eating good on ARPGs this year come to think of it lol

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Action Game of 2024

Tobimune

I disagree with DD2 being the #1

It's definitely a toss up between Wukong and Stellar Blade for me. DD2 was good but the combat wasn't anything to write home about, and it had tons of bugged quests and stuff.

Maybe the best open world RPG, but definitely not the best action RPG.

Re: Feature: The Game Awards 2024's Best Announcement, As Voted By You

Tobimune

Project Century was the only one that actually caught my interest. Obviously The Witcher 4 is hype but unless the combat is dramatically improved over TW3 I'm on the fence.

And I'm sure the ew Ninja Gaiden by the Blasphemous devs will be a banger

Other than those though almost all of the reveals were pretty mid for me.

Re: Physical Media Just Can't Catch a Break Right Now

Tobimune

This is unfortunate.

Digital is convenient sure and I buy games digitally sometimes but I still prefer to own a physical copy I can. They can't play that "You're only paying for a license" bs when you own a disc and can pop it right into your PS4/PS5.
