Bandai Namco's released a meaty new trailer for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, covering the brawler's combat system and various game modes — including its story adaptation.

Combat-wise, we can't help but think that Rebirth of Souls looks pretty interesting. It's got the kind of simple fundamentals that you'd expect from a licensed anime title, but it stacks a bunch of comeback mechanics on top of character-specific abilities.

Turning the tide of battle is a huge part of the source material, and the game's clearly trying to replicate that.

Moving on to modes, you've got a free battle mode, online matches, and, as mentioned, a story mode. The story covers everything from the original Soul Reaper arc all the way through to the end of the Arrancar arc — which is a lot to get through, but we obviously don't know how in-depth the game's going to take things.

There's also a 'Secret Story' mode, which takes the key plotlines and retells from the perspectives of other characters. Could be intriguing if you're a big Bleach fan.
