With a mere three weeks to go until the games industry makes the annual trip to Los Angeles for E3 2017, PlayStation has shared what it has planned for the show for viewers at home.
Once again you'll be able to catch the PlayStation press conference in cinemas throughout the US, Canada, and South America. More details on which theatres will play host to the live stream are to be shared in the next few weeks.
Alongside the Sony showcase, a further 16 hours of content is to be streamed over the week of E3, which will focus on a huge amount of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR games. This will include demos, interviews with developers, and new trailers.
Naturally you'll find all of this content right here on Push Square, but if you visit live.playstation.com over the course of the expo, you'll unlock quests which will lead to some neat little rewards.
Will you once again be heading to the cinema to catch Sony's E3 briefing? Let us know in the comments below.

@Tsurii I have to point this out every year, but Sony's been doing these daily streams for many years as well (before Treehouse). I really don't understand how people have managed to miss them.
@Tsurii what the he'll you talking about.bringing kidtendo in this conversation.they don't do movies in the theater
I'm really hoping for some high res VR footage from them. It would be really cool to watch the conference in VR. Even if it was added as a download after the event, it would still be nice to experience it.
Man I love the Pushsquare live chats at these events but it's always at a stupid time or I'm in work
@themcnoisy their main briefing is at 2am I believe for us in the UK... A ridiculous time for most here - but 6pm where they are...
@Tsurii I can't cut myself because Nintendo cut themselves making that horrible Nintendo switch.they should switch and make a real console .
@get2sammyb I say this every year. @Tsurii Its because its Sony.
Do they announce this like Nintendo does? No. Is this as high profile? Do they often lead right into it? Not often if ever.
It's Sony one big problem. For as loud as they can be, they aren't loud about the more fun stuff.
Treehouse has a brand. It has regular personalities on it, who work on the games, not just hosts. Its made very aware that its a thing alongside the E3 announcement itself. Not a release after the fact.
As glad as I am that they are promoting PSVR, it doesn't really lend itself well to anything other than inside the headset unfortunately.
Hopefully they'll put this on the system for people who already own a headset, but marketing a $400 non-testable headset in stores has got to be tough.
Just realized this will be my first E3 owning a PS4, not PSVR though, so maybe I'll have a chance to earn some of those exclusive rewards. I'm all about the demos.
9PM on a Monday night, I'll be here for the live chat as always.
@BLP_Software But they just announced it and we just posted it? And the hosts of this host the PlayStation Blogcast every week? Not sure what more you want them to do?
Is it Sony not making enough noise or is it people who aren't fully engaged in the ecosystem overlooking it?
@get2sammyb I think part of the problem is this.
Nintendo lays all their cards out at once. This is whats happening. Tournaments, the main event, and Treehouse.
Sony had the main event. Waited. Now this. Announce it alongside the main thing, its going to be remembered more. Makes it seem like what you have is longer.
And theres a PlayStation Blogcast? Since when? I'm here daily and get the newsletters. What the hell am I missing? 0-o
went to a theater last year for the E3 thing. was fun. would do it again.
Don't think I'll be able to go to watch the event in theaters this year. I moved to a small town so I highly doubt there will be a showing here.
Will definitely watch live at home though! I'm so hyped for E3!
I'm confident that both, Nintendo and Sony, will have amazing showings! The Switch and PS4 are the ultimate console pair, it's great!
Hoping to see more of Destiny 2 and COD WW2 for Sony, and more first party titles for Switch. There's been rumors about a PS5 as well. If it's true, I hope we hear about it at E3.
Edit: Forgot to mention this, but I would love to see a new Twisted Metal announced. It's about time we got a new entry in the series.
@playstation1995 You mean the Nintendo Switch that's selling like hot cakes and everyone who's played it absolutely loves ? lmao
Grow up for god's sake, can't actually believe your comments are still here and the admin's haven't deleted them.
I hope my Meredith is there ❤️
Unfortunately I'll be at work😞
@Tsurii @BLP_Software it's a fair point, but most PS fans I know prefer the approach of Sony. A few big presentations a year at the major events.
The tree house is a good idea, but there's no way I would want that instead of the showcase.
@playstation1995 "they don't do movies in the theater"
No they make games, not 'cinematic experiences' from wannabe film directors like David Cage (Kojima too, but at least he makes actually fun games rather than interactive movies).
I see the children have been given access to house wi-fi...
@Toadie because it's sucks toadie toad
@Orpheus79V yeah.that's why PlayStation is the best of all times
@playstation1995 Hey, if that's what you're into then good for you - we can't all like the same stuff. I'll just keep enjoying both PlayStation and Nintendo games, in addition to my PC.
@Orpheus79V At the end of the day, good games are good games.
I have to admit, though, I really hope the Switch is successful enough that Sony announces a PS4 hybrid. It's a great console, but I just don't dig playing pure home consoles anymore. Too limiting. Imagine being able to take Nioh, Persona 5, etc. with you anywhere you go.
I can't see it happening, though: Sony is killing it with the PS4, and they seem to have lost interest in portability.
@gmxs Yeah but my WiFi is way better than yours...
