Re: Metro Awakening Tells a Series Origin Story on PSVR2, Out This Year

Terry12

@SgtTruth There's trade offs. The PSVR2 has proper blacks being oled which will be great for dark areas in Metro, unlike the washed out Quest and LCD pc panels. Plus oled gives you much brighter colours too. Plus you have eye tracking, the best controllers in the business and head haptics. I think you are being a bit disingenuous.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Targeting September 2024, Will Have Proprietary Upscaling Tech

Terry12

If it can run GTA6 at 60fps then it will sell like hot cakes to all current PC users and gamers in general. If it can't, it's relevance and sales will be significantly diminished. Let's see what a 30% cpu uptick and the new upscaling can achieve... I'll probably buy one regardless for much better PSVR2 gaming but I think a lot of it's relevance really relates to what it will be be able to do with GTA6 and upcoming Unreal 5 games in hitting 60. I don't think hitting 40 is enough.

Re: Poll: Was This Sony's Best PlayStation Showcase Yet?

@theMEGAniggle I know it's madness isn't it! They don't have to show all their games at once and blow their load.... Apparently it's bloody hard to make video games, and takes bloody ages and lots of resources to do so. 😃 They are doing fine.

Re: Poll: Was This Sony's Best PlayStation Showcase Yet?

@DNortonX They were hardly going to show Wolverine! Insomniac are working on getting Spiderman ready for Xmas. What are they gonna show with Wolverine, another 2 min cinematic. Let Spidey breathe and get released, Wolverine will come later. Factions and Astrobot on the other hand you would have expected.

Re: Resident Evil Village (PSVR2) - An Even More Intense Version of a PS5 Great

Terry12

@SJBUK It's just the limitation of the tech as we stand at the moment. Being in the game as oppose to sat in your living room watching a screen is what makes VR though. The immersion is just off the scale compared to flat screen. And you appreciate the graphics much more in 3 dimensions. In fact you could argue that the graphics on PSVR2 are better than flat screen PS5 due to the 3d element which elevates games immensely.

@Chibbie Up close things should look high res and pretty clear, but yes resolution decreases with perceived distance. It's a tech limitation. Remember you've only got a PS5 running this thing and only got 2k per eye. Your going to need 4,6 or 8k per eye, native 120 FPS (no reprojection), elimination of mura to get to what you seem to have been hoping for. If Sony release a PSVR3 on the PS6 or PS7 then I think you'll be getting close to your wish. To be honest I was hoping for a slightly higher bump in resolution from the PSVR1 but hey ho... The immersion is everything though and RE8 has some insane parts in VR.

Re: PSVR2: How to Fix Blurry or Unclear Image Quality

Terry12

@Kwakpilot0 Yes I agree with you. It's bloody amazing really. And it is up there with the best on the market as you say... I'm just greedy I think. It's unreasonable to expect a flat 4k TV like image in 3d on a screen an inch from your eyes. Once you settle into a game the immersion is insane. I played 50 hours plus in Skyrim on PSVR1. Now that was proper blur!... But still awesome I might add.

Re: PSVR2: How to Fix Blurry or Unclear Image Quality

Terry12

Yes I think maybe we expected too much. I think VR is incredible mainly because of the fact that you're 'in the game'. This is probably the best quick description of VR I've come across. However with just shy of 4x the resolution spread across a bigger screen than PSVR1, a mura effect that is very noticeable particularly in dark scenes, as well as noticeable double imaging around the edges of geometry due to reprojection to get 60fps up to 120 there are still clearly a few issues to resolve come PSVR3..... Not to say I won't play the hell out it though! I think maybe games like Pistol Whip and other cell shaded, less demanding games that run natively will look sharper..

Re: Game of the Year: Liam's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2021

Terry12

Good shouts there Liam.... Apart from RE Village. I struggle to understand how that can be number 1. It's just a poorly made game with poor story, no sense of terror or dread, poor bosses, too fantasy, and just incredibly average. I'm a huge RE fan back playing RE1 on a Ps1 with no memory card. RE7 VR was probably the most incredible game I've played ever and even without VR it has a sense of grit, claustrophobia, realism and horror that RE Village just doesn't have at all. RE1, 2 and code veronica are the best for me, obviously with RE7 VR as it's just mind blowing. I felt violated after each session on that game. It was superb.
