That makes no sense, a lot of games drop without a physical release; BG3, Alan Wake 2, Like A Dragon Man Who Wotsit. There has to be more to it than that...
Seems crazy they try this and yet Factions got cancelled. The world of TLOU world obviously suit an MP entity better than Horizon ever would. Sony should have invested the moola behind this in Factions. I mean if Marathon is starting to falter (judging by comments above) this has no chance.
@The_Wailing_Doom Please don't say Tango Man. This kind of thing was going on way before Iran. If anything you can blame the lockdowns, the Ukraine but to think all this is on the Orange is nonsense. And no I'm not a huge fan of his either.
Weird people banging on about "gore/torture porn", when Clive originally wrote the books that term wasn't even a thing, it only came about after the Saw movies. Considering the subject matter mainly revolves around Hell and damnation I don't know what people expect; a stroll in the park? Personally I find the majority of modern politicians and blind devotion to religions far more terrifying.
@Oram77 Larian would be good too think this is good news all round though. Anyone remember those Interplay games, it may be nostalgia but I loved 'em not sure how'd they'd shape up today mind.
@8thDoctor It could be worse, the trailer for the film Sinners literally gave away each twist and/or death/turning. I've seen some trailers that reveal too much but Sinners was taking that idea to the max!
When I checked to make sure my yearly sub renewal was turned off for June I noticed the price was now nearly 120 sovs? I'm sure last year it was 80 although granted maybe I got some percentage deal. If they offer deals again maybe I'll cave and renew but with the back catalogue and Sony being asses this last year not likely.
@Oram77 Hell yes was it bad. I remember going from one console to the other in a short space of time (unlike the massive gap I had between PS4 to PS5) and thinking damn it wasn't my internet provider after all. Also it would cut out remember playing Dark Souls and needing some MP help and the damn thing cut out about a second before me and virtual help had trounced some boss I was seething.
I still can't see why they can't go back to how it was before where the online is free and you pay if you want monthly games. I think Sony's biggest mistake is thinking the cost of living crisis isn't affecting a majority of the world's population. At some point they'll price themselves out of the market then be forced to lower prices by which time the damage to brand is already done.
Another cheesefest from Sony. When I saw the guy's orange shirt at first glance I thought he was playing from the big house. Which wouldn't be that unusual at least not in the UK granted his widescreen TV would be much bigger. Nothing but the best for our convicts!
@LifeGirl For me it's still the Elden Ring DLC even on a base PS5 once out of the cave intro. Even now (and despite the game not being my favourite) nothing can compete graphically. Mind you buggered if I could finish the DLC despite somehow cheesing the main storyline...
An hour into Bramble already and it's everything I hoped for after trying out the demo when it first released. One for Little Nightmares and Reanimal fans but with it's own spin that's for sure.
@wildcat_kickz @Cambrius Seems a misleading term for what is going down then, I mean all the hackers are attempting is identity theft. Still it sounds more fancy, neo nerds gotta nerd...
As long as they make sensible and balanced choices with the narratives all well and good. But of late there have been some Disney level of cobblers seeping into the big name titles. It's one reason I'm loving the fact Stellar Blade 2 won't have any Sony exec with his dirty paws getting involved at any point not that they did with the first one obviously!
I'd already decided not to renew my subs in June not because the past year hadn't been value for money but because Sony have come across as total jackasses this past year or so. A decent back catalogue also helps and the fact outside a minor list of titles I don't do MP but even so vote with your wallet peeps otherwise they'll just continue to rinse you...
Can someone explain the "social engineering" angle? I appreciate he's drawing attention to something (in this case hacking) but can't see any socio-political relevance to what's happened here really.
@MotoGato Having replayed both TLOU games several times I never really saw the disparity between the two till I watched the TV show's 2 seasons back to back. Ignoring the golfing lesson they were like chalk and cheese overall story wise. Still a fan of both games Hell unlike most I even like Season 2 of the show mainly for the imagery and the world. But as you say if Henning had been involved in Part 2 the editing may have been tighter and certain wiser decisions made with the plot. Which in hindsight would have likely led to a more interesting show and more enthusiasm for the third and likely last season 3.
I'd already decided when my yearly subs runs out in June I'm giving it a wide berth. Mainly as Sony have left a worse taste this year in my mouth than Liddl's (un)finest plonk. Better rush through Outlaws and Bramble this week when they drop tomorrow mind.
@ThorsHammer Sheesh not good. In that respect I can't see how the above can be considered a sequel in any sense of the word. I mean it's different when an established franchise is handed over to a different studio (like LIS or the Little Nightmares series) but to launch a new IP like the above then claim it's a Disco Elysium "spiritual" sequel nah.
I suppose it depends who exactly was ejected by the studio, if it were those that made the game so original and daring in the first place then the above isn't really a sequel, spiritual or otherwise. It'd be like firing the head chef from a restaurant then replacing him with the guy who empties the bins but keeping the name...
@LifeGirl I'm not sure a US set 2026 would either otherwise they'd be fighting ICE agents and the soundtrack would be AI generated artists for the most part...
If there is now no issue with the soundtrack going forward I assume they can release a physical version. Not sold on the art style though, with the LIS series and Lost Records it was pretty decent and I imagine this game draws heavily from LIS in particular.
@Oram77 It would be like going to a restaurant, ordering steak and chips then when the waiter asks "Do you want rolls as a starter sir?" then says oh my mistake no rolls you storm out saying stuff the steak and chips!
Bramble from the demo had a really creepy vibe, the creature designs are superb and stoked to give Outlaws a try although suspect that won't be so hot.
I like what Patrick did as Young Dexter and the last 3 Hitman games were solid (if a bit short bought outside of the collected trilogy). I've still got some reservations but think it'll be fine. But as for Bonds in order of ascending faves;
Roger Moore
Timothy Dalton
Sean Connery
Daniel Craig
George Lazenby
David Niven (yes, I went there)
Pierce Brosnan
Hmmm I'm starting to get a bad feeling about the Little Nightmares 3 dlc too surely that should have dropped by now? I wouldn't mind but they sell these deluxe editions with the season pass then it all goes quiet. With Reanimal though I think we'll be good mind you that was far better than LN3.
I'm changing my mind about this game think I bought too hard into youtubers affecting my judgement or lack of! The creature designs look promising for one.
I quite enjoyed the first game couldn't get into the ice setting one though mind you when it was on PS+ there were so many games in my backlog maybe didn't give it a fair crack. The whole water setting was bliss although hope with this they make it a bit more horror-centric.
@Boxmonkey That's spot on and why I was kinda shocked SF has so many issues as they sold it like it was going to be hassle free. Mind you nothing will ever beat that vampire bugged quest in one of the ES games can't remember which one!
@Oram77 Agreed it's exactly why I still haven't got the Oblivion Remaster even though I wouldn't mind playing it. With the above I'm really tempted but till I read it's in a stable state I'm voting with my wallet.
They need to sort the damn game mechanics out, Chapters 9 to 12 were an endurance test which nearly made me uninstall the game.
Without spoilers I'll just say good luck getting on a dragon and taking out a tank without reading a walkthrough. For a game that's supposed to be non-linear the main missions were anything but with only one way through which at no point was obvious. No longer my GOTY that title goes back to RE9.
I don't usually rate multi player games but this was pretty solid. A bit repetitive but fun and thanks to everyone who helped my drunken rear reach the end!
With that ending and "plot" is anyone seriously surprised? Same reason the latest Dark Pictures game is failing bigtime. The majority have had enough of this Disney type forced narrative whether you like it or not it's a failed experiment.
@PuppetMaster Yes but none of those were some random indian guy who liked a drink and got dumped for a lesbian. I applaud them though for choosing an indian guy as usually it'd be a straight white guy being a toxic type. That's progress I guess...
Nioh 3 is the worst for frame rate drops I've played recently and can't work out why as the graphics are PS4 level and not much mental happens at any given time. Even Crimson Desert during the 100 plus enemies at once battles handles it reasonably well.

I'm hoping it's a game version of Breakin' 2: Eletric Boogaloo.
