This is 100% going to have performance issues on PS5. Every time a game has had to delay its Xbox launch but launched on PS5 it has come out with terrible performance.

@nessisonett After beating a Returnal’s campaign I never went back because it is a dreadful roguelite. The tower mode however is a fantastic roguelite and I love the shooting so I’ve put dozens of hours into it.

I thought this game was a disappointment. Even with the extremely short run time they were not able to come up with enough smart level design ideas for the drilling. And two of the bosses are so poorly designed that the best strategy did not include drilling. There are a few good ideas in there but they're shockingly spread out for such a small game.

That’s pretty rough for a game that looked expensive and had a lot of marketing dollars behind it. It’s a good game but perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to court and audience of angry horny weirdos that make other people embarrassed to play your game.

Playing 75 hours and beating the main game didn't spoil or even give me any clue about it's story so I doubt this trailer will do much to ruin the DLC for me.

@ShogunRok I would love to see the crosstabs for your polls. I'm curious to know how the responents in one poll voted other especially when y'all do the PS Plus drop polls.

I had rock bottom expectations and it still managed to completely underwhelm.

@NEStalgia Personally I don't miss any news on games I am interested during the noraml news cycle. I think lumping everything together at once makes it harder for the types of interesting game I want to play to stand out from the crowd. All the coverage ends up focused on a handful of big AAA games and indies. Everything else is just kind of shotgun blasted at us in poorly currated "everything we saw" lists.

@nessisonett Part of that sounds a bit like nostalgia. It's hard to get as hyped for commercials as we did when we were kids and the world had so much less happening. But I do completely agree with you on the impersonal nature of the current events. It felt like before there was room for gaming journalist to be surprised by the games they encountered on the show floor whereas now they only cover the handful of games they get access to and those tend to be known titles from prominent AAA/indie publishers that typically already have hype. I feel like with E3 I would always come away excited for a bunch of smaller games and that doesn't really happen anymore.

My problem with both this mess and E3 is that they are not adding anything and just condense a bunch of news into a one week period with the months around it being slow on news. I would prefer to just have news and hype rolled out at a steady cadence.

I have already played SoR4 but it is easily one of the best games ever given away on PS Plus. It is probably the best brawler ever made with great combat, music, and visuals. And it's a top 5 local coop game.

@Jacko11 I listen to literally all of his podcasts. If you listen to the words he is saying he very rarely claims to know exact information and instead is very clear about the level of certainty he has in anything he is talking about. The problem is that websites and Twitter trolls misquote or take his statements out of context. He is the best insider in the business. Incredibly entertaining, well Informed, and knowledgeable.

@Jacko11 He hasn’t said that at all. He has said he heard it would happen in May and that he has no clue when in May. He has to be the most misquoted person in gaming.

@themightyant Got it. I understand your reasoning and why my last response was kind of dumb. I’m not sold on this being a huge factor but do agree with you that it’s not 50/50 as implied by reporting.

@themightyant wouldn’t that thinking also imply that there are multiple monthly users on PS4 consoles as well. In fact it stands to reason that users still on PS4, who either cannot or are not willing to spend money to upgrade, are even less likely to have multiple consoles in their home for each individual user.

@themightyant I don't understand your disbelief? They used extremely simple math to determine that half of PS users are not on PS5. What is the alternative explanation? Who are the other 59 million active users if not people playing on PS4?

@Bez87 on the one hand the role playing and exploration you mention are unappealing to me personally but on the other hand you’re right that I should just give it a shot. It’s on a service I pay for so why not? I appreciate your thoughts.

Do you think I would enjoy RDR2? I am concerned that it might be a bit too slow and narrative focused for me.

I primarily play action oriented games with excellent high fps performance and do not prefer open worlds or narrative heavy games. At the same time I do not want to miss out on a a game that is wideley considered a masterpiece.

I did enjoy but didn't love GTA5. I thought the gameplay was subpar, mostly due to the weird aiming mechanics. I did enjoy the exposition but I get the impression that RDR2 has a lot more and that concerns me. I've also enjoyed but again did not love more story focused open worlds like the Horizon games, AC Odyssey, and the Witcher 3.

If the gameplay focuses on third person shooting it’s a shooter with platforming elements and not a platformer. R&C is also a shooter not a platformer.

As a fan of platformers it’s annoying to me that anything colorful with a jump button gets called a platformer regardless of what the gameplay is actually like.

@rachetmarvel I didn’t say that at all. I think it’s a good game. But I’ve also read through the user reviews and what I’m actually saying, that the score is inflated by the weirdos, is very clearly accurate. Go read the reviews, a significant number mention censorship as their only issue.

@dark_knightmare2 They didn't turn on the game. Look through the user reviews. Half the 10s will say it's a masterpiece despite Sony's censorship. The chuds are definitely inflating the score.

The ven diagram of people who review bomb and people who treat this game like a political statement against wokeness is a circle so it totally makes sense that this game would have an inflated score.

This is a bad review. The game I’m playing is definitely a 7/10 which tracks with the consensus.

That’s disappointing but not surprising. The gameplay looked questionable in trailers. It’s on ps plus and has great art so I’ll still give it a go but with managed expectations.

Prince of Persia is the best game so far this year. 2D games are so under appreciated.

@Pranwell I’m concerned that a pro model existing will lead to more games having only a 30 fps mode. I think that’s a very fair concern when developers already prioritize graphics for marketing purposes.

It seems like the focus will be on graphics rather than performance and I care more about performance so it’s hard to be excited for it.

I don’t think humans can perceive a difference between 1080p and 4k at normal viewing ranges.

@Pranwell I understand that and so does Sony. That's why their business model is rapidly changing to bleeding people like you dry now that they have tapped out the console market and cannot realize additionaly growth from increasing their market share.

@NinjaNicky There are comparable products to the PSP that are half as much and only like 6 games that actually push the base model PS5. If people have the money and want to buy those things good for them but that doesn't change that the primary draw is clearly brand allegience. And Sony has caught on and is moving towards a busness model of milking their whales so I hope you enjoy your shiny new consumer products. I would buy them too if the value justified the cost.

@Strafio unfortunately I think I’m to blame for my problems. My wife was able to run up long combos without any issues. I have very little rhythm.

@hookedWORM17 The rhythm aspect is constant but unlike most rhytm games it does not punish missing the beat. Instead it rewards staying on the beat. It also has a ton of really good visual feedback that helps a lot. I have no rhythm and still beat it without any trouble.

@dark_knightmare2 I liked it and think it's a good game. I'm just unfortunately really bad at it.
