Re: 'The Solution Is to Get Rid of Consoles': Analyst Predicts $1,000 PS6 and a Transition to Game Streaming

@GeminiX53 I live in the real world, where game streaming isn't even close to the same thing as video and audio streaming. The same real world where Google Glass and VR headsets flopped despite being the wave of the future and backed by tech titans. The same real world where 3D TVs don't exist anymore because consumers rightfully recognized it was a gimmick and far inferior to the normal way they've been consuming content for almost a century.

Tell me why a consumer would pay full retail price for a WORSE experience that's less reliable, slows down the Internet in the rest of their house, and eats up their data cap? You can't. You just say "future future future" as if economic and infrastructure issues don't exist now and won't be even worse then.

@GeminiX53 I'll print them off and keep them next to the dozens of VR headsets that were supposed to be the future by now. How did that turn out?

Streaming a song or a movie off a server is a completely different business model than streaming games. And it's a business model nobody has found a way to capitalize on because it's a losing model.

Do people think Internet bandwidth is free? That the pipes are magical? And that everyone online has a blazing fast, always online connection? Some of you people truly are clueless, and the type who probably think flying cars and teleporters are right around the corner.

@MrPeanutbutterz a big ass open world game with tons of "scope" doesn't mean anything if the game itself plays like garbage and you can't even remap controls.

It's wild how this game has broken so many brains. The people who bought into the hype and already paid full price simply MUST defend it and justify their purchase. And on the flip side there's an odd collection of people cheerleading for its failure.
