@Mikey856 So you’re saying that it’s impossible to implement an offline section of the game as well as an online one ? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ It’s nothing todo with leaderboards.
I couldn’t be less excited by the PS5 launch. look at the games. It’s all just enhanced PS4 games. Surely they’ll look nice but what really stands out and says “yeah that makes me wanna pay the money” Disappointed
This is exactly why I refuse to buy any single player game that requires a constant internet connection. I can still play my master system from over 3 years ago. Retro gaming is huge. Will we have such a thing as retro in the gaming world one day?? If I spend £50 plus on game for the single player, I’d like that purchase to not come with an life span that I don’t control and yes whilst Sony are taking the piss, lets not forget you can’t even play an Xbox One without accessing the Internet first. Feels kinda like I’m renting anything that requires a server with a lifespan.
Proper memories and it’s exactly why I have such an issue with all these online only games! We’ll end up with no retro gaming and no way to relive past glory’s!
Although generally the reviews have been good I’ve found some of the more negative reviews strange. Was anyone actually expecting anything other than what far cry 5 has in fact offered. I don’t know, maybe that’s why I’m enjoying it so much. Even with that amazing opening scene I never once prepared myself for anything other than driving around and shooting.
As always it’s great shooting stuff with the aim controller but I absolutely hate the fact it Makes you a spectator when moving between cover.! Completely ruins the game, destroys the emersion. Why not have an option for it?? Level design is so dull and boring and after 5 mins nothing feels different. Supermassive need to give us Rush of blood 2. Still the go to game for PSVR
I think this is the first time I’ve completely disagreed with a Push Square review
I’ve just finished playing, I spent about an hour and half, having bought the game earlier today based on this review.
I almost don’t know what to say. The controls are far to complicated, even after an hour I was forgetting what I needed todo. Having to use the triggers for the running instead of just swinging my arms I feel effected all the other moves , jumping was made to fiddly because of this. Turning makes no sense at all! When I turn my head I feel my body should turn too, having to use the quick turn buttons in the middle of everything else was not right at all. I ended up running in the direction I wasn’t facing, it was horrible. I didn’t feel like the sense of speed was there either, even when I worked to the point of almost having a heart attack I didn’t feel like I was zooming along at all. Finally the levels... hmmm. I was expecting more, they just didn’t blow me away but im probably being picky because I’m in a bad mood.
I feel like the developers have gone past the limit of the move controllers with this game. I would say all this release has achieved is proved that it’s time to show us what will be replacing them!
@Tasuki you to realise with my internet speed it won’t be unlocked by the time I buy it!! Are people really this stupid! They honestly think a 9gb patch downloads in seconds!
Lol are they serious!!! I currently live in an area with a maximum internet speed of between. 1-2mbps. A 9gb patch to play an single player. Gaming is becoming ruined by this always online nonsense. £40-£50 for games that’s have a limited life span. I’ve got a master system that’s about 30 years old I can still play, gone are those days. THANKS !!!!
For me, the reason why Microsoft will continue to trail Sony is nothing todo with power, games or graphics. I'm currently living with my in-laws whilst me and wife are waiting for our new house to be built. They live in the sticks and when their internet chooses to work 1mb is a dream of a speed. I bought myself an Xbox one a few days ago as there are now a few exclusives I really fancy playing. I found out that you can't even get to the XBONE dashboard without an internet connection. This was not stated on the box to be clear. The console is also set to shut off after inactivity so I can't even leave it to update when I'm at work if it's a day when the internet is working. It's basically a brick. They might as well of just stuck with their always online plan. Xbox one X could be the best thing since sliced bread, cheap as chips with mountains of games hitting 60FPS but sadly there are people who still live with medieval internet!
Personally I find this game awesome. I've always loved arena shooters, Unreal, Quake, so I had been looking forward to this. What annoys me is the assumption that no one will be interested for this reason. I'm happy just playing against bots, the arenas are interesting and vibrant, the characters have variety, there are plenty of match options to customise. I've had great fun just playing offline. The real issue is the Framerate. I can't believe this isn't below what Sony set as their minimum, at times the screen was moving in stutters. Massively frustrating! The lack of being able to customise controls is also very disappointing, as the article states not being able to auto level is just horrible!!!
I'd be amazed if she has actually played this game! To be honest I'd be surprised if there was criticism, everyone has a voice now so there is always someone trying to point out the negatives! The game had a female lead who is beyond badass, you can in no way tie down skin colour in relation to whether someone is good or bad and it's got robot dinosaur/animals! How can anyone seriously find fault with this game?
I can see exactly what will happen. It won't be long and Microsoft will be doing games that only run on Scorpio. I still feel like they are ignoring everything that made the 360 such a great console. First it was the push to give us an all-in-one machine now they seem completely obsessed with Sony. I like the fact Sony have given us something that offers a better exerpience of the ps4 and it's all optional.
This is a good article on the VR side of Resi 7 but it would of been good to get some feedback from someone who didn't get sick. I managed to slowly condition myself to not getting sickness with the whole walking style VR, tomb raider made me feel horrible the first time I played the VR section, I slowly played it and games like RIGS making sure I stopped before feeling sick and I can now go hours without feeling and discomfort. I tried the begining hour demo in VR and had no sickness at all and I personally thought they had given some great options to play around with to get the controls that suit but ultimately with something like VR you will never please everyone. Even though it sounds like it's not a completely perfect experience the devs need huge kudos for giving us a whole game in VR and if other developers don't use this a stepping stone to take PSVR away from the tech demo style games we only seem to get then it would be hard to not question what Sony really want to get from PSVR
Never been a big fan of resident evil but after playing the demo on VR I'm gonna take the plunge. I find the slightest little jump horrific, I don't do scary games but the immersion in VR on the demo is just so ridiculous that I don't feel I can ignore it. It will take me about 10 hours to progress out the first room but nevermind. The downsides of it being cliched won't be a problem having not really invested in any other horror games.
This together with RIGS and the shark encounter are the 3 things that made me realise that VR is not gonna go the way of Kinnect. This is just pure fun, I hate scary games, I don't like jumpy films or games BUT playing this all that just doesn't matter, it's just pure fun.
@NintendoFan4Lyf I'm assuming you haven't played VR yet, I could be completely wrong but once youve experienced it you lose all those feelings you have of comparisons to the Wii and Kinnect.
Wow! After reading the review I was surprised to see 6/10. You spent the review telling us how poor a game it is lol Yep, visually this game is absolutely terrible but it just so much fun to drive around in cars that you can only dream of driving, maybe being a car enthusiast it offers me more than the average gamer??
I absolutely love this game, it's what VR is all about. I Like the fact as a launch game the combat and gameplay is not too OTT, it lets you get the hang of everything. It's just great fun, the feeling of getting shot into the air is incredible. For me it's also one of the games that leaves me not feeling sick.
All the games I've played so far I've found myself soon forgetting about the poor graphics because I get so wrapped up in the immersion and simply the pure fun I'm having. Driveclub is a great example, it looks absolutely awful but cheese and rice is just so fun. I've been so close to buying this but I think I'm gonna give it a miss now
Yeah the visuals could have been so much better, but honestly I was just looking forward to playing these 3 awesome games with a good framerate, that is far more important to me than graphics. It really does change the experience with 60fps. I'm super happy 👍
The PC version of PS now seems like a great idea, BUT, £12:99 is just far too much when you're already paying for PS+. Why don't they let you have a discounted yearly sub or even better would be to do a PS+ and PS now package.
PS4 slim seems like utter madness with a 500gb HDD. As it stands I can have no more than 4-5 games on my current 500gb PS4. I would rather spend the money on upgrading the HDD on my current machine.
Great review. Everything about this game that is good is beyond amazing but the weak points really stand out. Thankfully I can look past them and am loving it so far. Really this game is un reviewable though, you have to play it and you'll either love it or hate, there is no middle ground.
All spot on. The fact this new wave of consoles (ps4 Xbone) can't even achieve consistent 1080p with rock solid 60fps surely means the price of a 4K console at this time would be astronomical . Sony are getting close to releasing their VR headset and would be mad to add something else they have to sell into the mix. They've done so much right with the ps4 and although you point out the really frustrating things that persist with this console I do feel like they truly learnt a lot from the PS3, trying to push 4K on us now instead of continuing to improve what we've got would be potentially suicidal.
@NomNom treyarch CODs have always had a certain degree of bad press, far too many critics have a strange obsession with infinity ward. Nonsense, haters and fanboys aside Treyarch have made the best CODS since I.W. Made COD 4. The reviews have been predictable for black ops 3 but I think the sales show ultimately reviews always need to be taken with a huge pinch of salt. After almost a week with BO3, this is a stunning shooter and by far the best COD in many years. It's just a lot of fun.
Comments like "get the PC version if you worry about performance" make me chuckle. It's like we all have a high end gaming rig but it just sits there doing Nothing. I dont have a PC good enough for gaming. I have consoles so, surprise surprise I have an interest in their performance. Good to see a dev put framerate as a priority. Hopefully more will do this and one day this attitude of 30fps being acceptable will be gone!
Are they really complimentary? We have to pay for PS+ and without that we don't get them. I think we're within our rights to show a little bit of disappointment. Someone like me who plays online once in a blue moon is defo gonna start looking at whether it's worth paying for ps+ right now!
Some of the reactions on here are pathetic! if it was an all out exclusive I could understand a bit more but seriously, do People not have paitence these days? This is just business... Does anyone actually believe any company truly cares about their customers more than £? They make decisions based on profit, simple.
I just dislike this stuck up attitude that everyone worships games like Final fantasy and shenmue. I've grown up gaming but I have pretty much no interest in RPGs
