I am still crying for Rebirth, which only received one destined music award out of seven nominations. It also did not have the commercial success to celebrate. The fate of part 3 seems doomed.

Where is Concord? This should be SONY's goty, which will definitely leave a great mark in game history.

But this is a public voted award (with tens of millions of voters from China). I guess phantom blade zero will probably win the next Joystick Award.

@UltimateOtaku91 TGA has close relationship with Tencent and China is becoming a more and more important market for both the industries and media (i.e., TGA). Audiences of Pokémon and CoD do not bring the influence TGA need.

In my opinion, BMW is a good game, but I would put Stellar Blade, Echoes of Wisdom and Silent Hill 2 over it as the GOTY contenders.

@ATaco Even without this announcement, TBW has a low chance of being nominated. With the success of Silent Hill and Echoes of Wisdom, that game can't be a top six release this year. The only effect of this announcement is it put Elden Ring on the table.

@EfYI Yes and No. Sony games sold millions of copies on PC. On the other hand, Sony games also have millions of downloads on piracy website.

Sony even do not add Denuvo to their PC releases, which means day one piracy.
Fact 1: Most of those piracy have millions of downloads.
Fact 2: God of War Ragnarok has not yet in PS plus, while millions of PC users took it for free.

Other games do not have a big government to help them promote the games. (PS: I did not play the game so I can't tell whether it is a good game or not.)

If I remember correctly, this game is still on early access mode. Sony never allows early access games to be on PS store before. This is the first one that breaks the rule.

Let's say if Concord did not flop. Selling 5 million copies would generate $200 million revenue, which is only half of this fake development cost, and which is still a disaster. How could you believe this is true. No one will ever make a game that could not cover the development cost even if it sells 10 million copies.

A remaster of a 2019 ps4 game that still looks decent on ps5. A game that is available on PS plus. Really curious who will buy.

Just admit that PS5 exclusive games are not selling any good. This year, FF7rebirth, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and Astro Bot, none of them reach the sales that match their quality. Astro-bot and Rise of the Ronin might even not hit the 1mil milestone now.
Only Spider-Man2 has massive sales. But come on, that is Spider-Man.

The sarcasm on Astro Bot makes me feel disgusting. This game is definitely a GOTY contender. Criticism and possible hatred towards SONY shouldn’t be aimed at Astro Bot, especially from someone who doesn’t even own a PS to play the game.

My issue with MC score is that it seems to not include any Japanese reviews, which is absolutely weird as almost half of good games every year are produced by Japanese companies/studios. This year especially true, Elden Ring, Astro Bot, FF7, Tekken 8, etc.

Well, if you consider GTA V, eafc, COD and Rainbow Six Siege always dominate US and UK, nothing strange about the JP market.

It's unfair to judge the game based on length (as long as it is not as short as RE3). Otherwise, Spider-Man 2 only takes less than 20 hours to beat and around 25 hours for platinum.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner It is only early access for the first two chapters which probably does not include any spoilers. This is just like a demo of the game. I mean early access to the demo does not hurt anybody and charging for game demo is not an unusual thing.

I still hope this IP is held by Square Enix rather than some western companies.

Also, this game should not be titled Dragon Dogma. It should be Goblin Dogma, literally more than 60% of the monsters are just goblins.

@Cloud39472 It is true. Rebirth is criticized for its performance mode which has a pretty stable 60 fps. However, the disastrous optimization of DD2 seems not to affect its review score. Who knows why?

If Rebirth does not sell well, we will probably no longer have other 3A level JRPGs in the future. I bought both a digital and a physical copy. Shame on the JRPG fans.

We got FF7 remake, ghost of tsushima and forbidden west (which release the same time or after TLOU2) three PS exclusives in PS plus for a long time. But why this game not?

I could not understand the stats of skull and bones. It is definitely a flop and it does not have the fanbase of dc fans. However, its sales seem not so bad.

During the battle, the FPS could drop to 24 (according to IGN). What can I say? DD2 out (for me).

@Juanalf Scenes in Village and RE4 are pretty small size and usually in doors. However, DD2 is an open world game and maybe Capcom can not handle it.

Either 30 or 60. It must be stable. This game is not visually impressive so no excuses.

However, I just do not understand why so many people are paying for mediocre games like Mario vs DK and Detective Pikachu. This is Bandai. They produce trash anime game every year. No surprise.

I can not say about the gameplay currently. But the graphic of this game is just crap. It looks like a late PS3 game and is definitely not worth that high price.

@3Above I quite enjoy the beta and cannot understand people's negativity without actually playing the game. I can say for sure many people are commenting on something they do not know.

This is an online multiplayer game. No one cares about platinum trophy tbh. For example, platinum rate for OW2 and SF6 is only 0.2%.

This year we have a new Final Fantasy 7 on PlayStation and then MS reminds me of Sega.
