I thought dying light was dead island 3, then this came along, bit random. They both look great though. Had a lot of fun on dead island. I hope they use the touch pad in an intuitive way to swing weapons around.
Everyone seems to think that AAA games just pop up out of nowhere. They take a lot of time, and if they don't, then they suck. "Here's a game we spent loads of money on and made as fast as we could that hasn't been properly tested". Have fun.
@Cyrso Thank you Cyrso, They have released a unity plug in for psm so that you can make the game on unity and export it through playstation mobile. While much of the stuff on there probably is "shovelware". It still takes peoples time and effort to make. My game has taken me around a year to be ready to a standard I am happy with, and due to the nature of the platform I have decided to release it for free. I would rather more people played it and enjoyed it than I would making a small amount of money from it.
@get2sammyb It's not great, but I could tell it wasn't very big anyway. Personally I see it as both a relief and a waste of my time trying to optimise the game for 3 different resolutions. I would much rather have been able to just target the Vita in the first place, but I was told that it had to work on all the platforms. Then the last few weeks I had seen games on there that say they were not compatible. I thought they had just relaxed the rules. I will probably use Unity for my next game anyway. Probably a sequel, now featuring graphics.
On the plus side, I was worried my game was going to be unplayable on phones and tablets due to the touch screen controls. It's hard enough with the stick and buttons Very soon to be released for free if anyone is interested.
@ObviouslyAdachi Those were just examples, I didn't think it would have frame issues. Also I have played it way more on the vita, it's great and exactly the same on both.
@dok5555555 The problem with the demo is you don't get to use the best bike. It's the most fluid and responsive iteration of the bikes that they have come up with so far. Can't imagine how they could improve on it.
@get2sammyb the analogue triggers are definitely a must, but I find leaning on trials frontier quicker as you only need to slide your thumb a tiny bit back and forth.
The amount and the season pass will all be ubisofts fault. If you love trials like I do then every little addition will improve on it. The challenges are exactly that, challenging. There is no mention here of the addition of parts to use in the editor, which in turn adds loads more to the community, no mention of the fact you can make 4 player tracks now which very soon will massively increase the amount of game play for local multiplayer. Yes there are only 8 new tracks, but the community is releasing hundreds every day.obviously you can ride sloppily through the tracks and be finished in no time, but try getting all the platinums and completing all the challenges. Good luck doing that in an hour
@HeroOfCybertron I have a ps4 but want this for the vita more. Controls and maybe frame rate would probably be the only differences. There was a small mension of the vita in this article so I imagine if they didn't say anything about differences that they are basically the same.
The only thing I want from the day one edition is the costumes. I dont want faster crafting etc, don't need to make the game easier and I think bonus xp is stupid. Xp stands for experience. Typing in a code is hardly gaining experience, it's just a lie.
I have just spent the night playing on the oculus rift and it is amazing. As long as the frame rate was at least 30 I had no problems with dizziness or sickness. Even playing radial G which is super fast racing around tubular roads was no problem. The games just need to be implemented properly and the lenses and distance set up to suit you. So much fun, I am going to order a DK2 tomorrow and start making games on unity. Well excited. Can't wait to get it. Even third person was ok once you get into it. Really looking forward to the near future of virtual reality.
They clearly planned to release it with 1.80 but as xbone just released 3d blu ray support they have added this early to avoid migration from a select few. I imagine it has been ready for a while and they wanted to build up a nice bunch of features to release at the same time. I do this where I work. People are so impatient. Dev work takes time, and testing maybe even more in some cases, perhaps 3-7 days for example.
@Remixora That's what I thought about Flashback, but that was a terrible remake. This however does look a lot lot better and I can't wait to get into it.
@sinalefa they may not be exclusive. But I have played trials fusion on ps4 and on xbox 360 and its a hell of a lot better to play on ps4. Having a better system, controller and now new tv has made a big improvement in my game.
I'm happy for Sony to ride the multi plat/ indie train for as long as it takes for the games that are obviously being made behind closed doors to be ready. I would prefer them to be fully functional, fully tested and fully working before they are released.
I must have more faith in the VR future. How about for patients in hospitals who are completely paralysed. Using brain activity they could use occulus to walk around and interact in a virtual world, effectively giving them a "second life" . The tech is getting better everyday. There are some pretty interesting things going on. I understand what you are saying about the first person view, it is the only one that makes sense. I can't understand your zero interest in it though, but each to their own. Have you used an occulus rift yet? it is very different to a 3D TV.
@get2sammyb "I'm still not convinced this is the future innovation everyone keeps claiming it is..." I completely disagree. There are so many possible applications for VR not including games that it has to get big. It will make a huge difference to the world if it is done properly and not made too expensive or awkward to use. And not filled with invasive adverts. and not used for real life hatred, violence or evil. Looking forward to it. Horror games are gonna be on another level. Gonna try Alien Isolation on Oculus Rift 2 this month. I will be taking spare underwear.
Wii U sales are gonna pick up pace. A couple of my friends have just got one, I saw some guys in a game shop the other day buying one. Like Microsoft said it's a marathon not a sprint (a couple of days before throwing away their sneakers and donning a pair of sprinting shoes in an attempt to destroy everything they had worked for). Nintendo is going to be fine, their games are always superb. All these new Wii U games seem to be a homage to their Snes and N64 counterparts. Back to excellent core gameplay and innovating it for multiplayer and touch screen interaction. Lovely. Can't wait to get a Pikachu Amiibo and train him up on smash bros, and explore hyrule or wherever this Zelda game will be.
I'm pretty happy with everything the way it is. Take your time Playstation. I have plenty of other ways to do all the features everyone complains about not having. Organising the games would be the thing I would most like, but it's not essential.
I have been quite happy with the momentum of the whole thing to be honest. Can't expect everything to be perfect straight away, can't magically have hundreds of first and third party games straight away, these things take time. Especially with new hardware. I have been happy with the trickling of new games to play. There are obviously things I would like to see, improvements and such. But working in game and software development, i know that not everything can be done at once and testing takes soooo long and is very difficult to pick up everything. Then the next day a dev could have an update and everything needs to be tested again to be sure that change didn't affect something completely random. keep at it as you are Sony, people just need more patience. Plenty of other things going on in the world to do.
I've found myself playing mario kart 8 more than watch dogs. I think I spend too much of my gaming time with friends. Cant find time to play wolfenstein either. It didn't help getting zelda windwaker for free with Mario kart So many great games to play recently.
Is digital data not pre-owned? It's kind of like sony bought a special copy of wolfenstein and if you give them 50 quid, they will copy it to your hard drive.
@thedevilsjester Some pretty good stacks there. Knowing this shows a lot more promise on top of what we have seen from the ps4 so far. Still there is more to it than just numbers, like you said before about the res and fps.
@thedevilsjester I fully understand. I program games myself, I believe there is more to the wii u than meets the eye, but I agree maybe 2 times more powerful or more, but that guys 10 times over comment just got to me. The wii u is rendering two screens most of the time as well which is gonna take up processing power.
@thedevilsjester it's not a stupid comment. it's a fair point. Just because the games don't look realistic doesn't mean that it doesn't stretch the hardware. They still have lighting effects, physics, shaders, particals, water effects. and beautifully smooth looking rounded edges. Nintendo games are always, "ALWAYS" made with so much care and attention. And I have played my Wii U plenty even since getting my PS4. it's an amazing system. People need to see for themselves rather than blindly following the online naysayers.
@charlesnarles maybe they had loads of assists turned on. some racing games can go from very easy to damn near impossible with assists. Dirt 3 without assists was perfect though, definitely my favourite racing game.
I had 3 or 4 xbox 360s. Honestly I prefered it to my ps3 due to the party chat and having more friends on it. But around the xbone announcement I grew tired of it and all my mates also migrated to ps4. Fed up of the crap they kept coming out with. And tired of paying them more and more money every year. Still playing my ps3 now though.Mostly due to ps+ . Love sony. Microsoft seems like an unnecessary effort
@N711 a 1gb hdd is a bit small. Also most of the stuff that microsoft guy was coming out with is laughable. Is it possible that some of the x360 players aren't waiting for a cheaper xbone but have already upgraded to ps4, like me and 5 friends of mine.
