I liked Sonic Frontiers from what I've played. Cyberspace levels were crazy and the open world stuff was pretty chill. Music was good too. It's worth trying out.
Xuan Yuan Sword: Gate of Firmament. It's got a pretty rough translation but I enjoy these kind of games. No brain rot or worrying about offending certain groups.
Also trying Outer Worlds, got that thru ps+. Seems decent so far, we'll see.
I don't really feel like a game can be described as both the "most creative" and also be inspired by other media. It's either one or the other, your own idea or a rip-off/homage.
I'm definitely not part of the "modern audience " and I think the game is fine. Sure, it's not like the other games in the series but I really don't mind the change. I'm only in chapter 1 as I'm waiting to finish Ys 9 first before I get into it but I wanted to support the devs so I bought it on release day.
There was a episode of Mythbusters where they were able to polish a turd. Unfortunately I don't think Ubisoft has the talent/skill to achieve the same results, sorry.
I played the first thinking it might be interesting but ehhh, what a slog. I understand that a game about mental illness isn't supposed to be fun or a good time but it basically was about lining up symbols in the environment while endless chatter repeated lines like "You can't do it!....Yes, you can!!!" I'll pass on this when it gets a PS5 release to try to recover its development costs.
Pretty sure no one was bothered by Nioh 1's protagonist being a white guy as it was made by Team Ninja, an actual Japanese developer who (surprisingly) are staffed by actual Japanese people. It's their history, so I think they can do what they want.
If I could dislike that trailer more than once, I would. It's Ubisoft that I (and most others) hate as a company. Remember this is the company that said you should "get used to not owning their games", countless tales of employee abuse, charging $130 for 3 whole days of early access, saying Skull and Bones was a "AAAA" title that justified a $70 price tag, deleting The Crew from your library and god know what other stuff I'm forgetting. If defending Ubisoft is the hill you're willing to die on, than good luck with that. I'll never buy their games again, never. But sure, go ahead and claim its racism. Whatever.
Indika - what a weird game, I'm enjoying it. About an hour in, impressed with what I've played so far. Diablo 4 - finally tried out a seasonal character, grinding Helltides but getting decent exp from them so it's good to play while I listen to music. Athenian Rhapsody - looked insane so I picked it up and yup, it's insane all right. But funny, which i needed right now after serious games lately. Doing a pacifist run.
There's no way the 2 latest games are better than the original trilogy. I'll take gameplay over family drama and handholding (literally and figuratively) any day of the week.
The only reason I played some of Remake was that I got it thru PS+, otherwise I would've ignored it just like 16 and Rebirth. That type of gameplay is not what I want from a Final Fantasy game.

@rusty82 That's exactly where I am, lol. Hopefully they add a brightness slider soon.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 559
@rusty82 I am having the same problem, especially when in solid form. I'm supposed to navigate some cathedral but it's way too dark.

Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic
Everytime people get excited over a game trailer that has no actual game footage, somewhere an Ubisoft executive is nodding their head and laughing.
Re: Intergalactic PS5 Is Naughty Dog's Wildest, Most Creative Story Yet
I don't really feel like a game can be described as both the "most creative" and also be inspired by other media. It's either one or the other, your own idea or a rip-off/homage.
Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic
Cool, another protagonist who I don't have any interest in playing. No wonder comments were shut off on the official trailer reveal.
Re: This Online Anime Shooter Sees You Switch Between 2D and 3D Character Models
It doesn't cost $40 so that's a good start...

Re: Feature: Why Would Sony Want to Buy Kadokawa?
Sony must need a new studio for their remasters
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554
@ErrantRob Lol, I hear ya. I'm definitely not the target audience for this but I'm like "yeah, this works for me"
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554
Slitterhead, some of the Infinity Nikki beta (pretty fun) and Ys9 (the ps4 version I got thru ps+).

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
If I want an underpowered console I'll just buy a Switch instead.
Re: Out Today: PS5 Pro, the Most Powerful Console Ever
Sony loves their pointless remasters so much they even did it to the console.
Re: Round Up: PS5 Pro Reviews Love New Tech and Its Glimpse of PS6 Potential
Either I can't notice ray tracing or I just don't care but I hardly ever see a difference when it's enabled. Happy with my old ps5.

Hmm, spend $10 for the upgrade or on some greasy fast food hamburgers? Welp, never was a choice, burgers it is, much better value.

Lol, no it hasn't changed my mind about the pro at all.

@Logonogo I wish I was joking but that scene really happens.
Re: TV Show Review: Like a Dragon: Yakuza - Generic Japanese Crime Caper Doesn't Do SEGA Franchise Justice
I'll admit, in episode 2 hearing "Mr Blue Sky" from ELO while a montage of people trying on different outfits wasn't on my Yakuza bingo card.

Yikes, this is pretty dire. Hopefully Stranded is decent, we'll see I suppose.
Re: Live-Action Tomb Raider Series Officially Ordered by Amazon Prime Video
I thought the "Phoebe was writing the series" was a joke but apparently it's not. Just wonderful...

Re: Religious Indie Game INDIKA Handed Final PS5 Release Date of 17th May
Nice to see a release date, I've been checking the store like every few hours since the 9th came and went without any news.
Re: Random: Get Crafty with These Cool Horizon Forbidden West Papercraft Models
This is pretty cool. Horizon may not be my favorite series but this is awesome. Post your results if you try this!

Re: Deliver Us Mars Dev Lays Off Team Due to Lack of Publishing Options
