Re: Resident Evil 4 (PS5) - A True Masterpiece Made Even Better

LeeHarveyOzgod

Ugh. So now we have Dead Space and Resident Evil 7 remakes that are getting perfect scores.

I will play the victim but the fact of the matter is I bought Dead Space and I'll be buying this once I finish that.

It's great that these games are turning out great but the reality is it means less new games, less new IP, less new ideas.

In the last ten years how many times have The last of us, GTA 5 and Resident Evil 4 been released. Since there is nothing else out to buy we buy it up and just keep encouraging developers to remake old games.

I don't really know what my point is here lol. But I see a lot more games getting remakes in the future.

Re: Hands On: The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR Is Massively Underwhelming So Far

LeeHarveyOzgod

This article should be taken down. I really don't know what version of the game push square is playing? I just finished the third track (and the tracks are a lot longer than you might expect) and I've come across 1 enemy that is a bullet sponge and it was a boss fight!

Additionally push square says they haven't got to a don't blink sequence... IT IS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE SECOND TRACK. Clearly they haven't played that much, or maybe they were given a snippet of the boss fight? I don't know but I urge people not to give up on this game due to this very inaccurate thrashing session.

Now to be fair, this game has some of the most disgraceful load times for a ps5 game and the visuals aren't going to knock your socks off, fire in particular looks some times comical.

But I don't think those things take away from the fun game play. They do a lot of stuff with the environment to add layers and depth, your not always just sitting there shooting.

Re: Best Horror Games on PS5

LeeHarveyOzgod

Push square constantly hates on super massive games and The Quarry in particular then ranks it the sixth best horror game behind the last of us, then writes a slam article on switch back where the hate on the quarry continues...

Re: Hands On: The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR Is Massively Underwhelming So Far

LeeHarveyOzgod

@jrt87 This. If you were interested in this game before, you probably won't be disappointed. Push squares VR reviews are all over the place and really make no sense when placed one next to the other, granted you can't expect everyone on the review staff to have the same opinions and tastes.

I'm a little shocked how many people just came in here, read three paragraphs and instantly were turned off even when the authors said they hadn't had much time with the game.

Like I said, I just played for about an hour, which is about as long as I'm going to play any game in a single session and I had a ton of fun.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Last of Us Season One Finale?

LeeHarveyOzgod

I voted very good. The opening scene with Anna was an excellent edition, although I found it slightly distracting considering how much needed to happen in the finality of the show. I thought this was the most rushed episode, story wise. They got all the beats in a greatest hits sort of way.

Up until this episode I've loved Pedro as Joel, but I do feel like he was missing the beat in the first ten minutes up until they find the giraffes, something just felt off about his performance here. Bella is the perfect Ellie, again. She should hopefully win awards, although I fear they might go to Offerman or someone from episode 3.

Overall it was an excellent ending to one of the best shows I've ever seen not named breaking bad and HBO paid full service to the game.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments

LeeHarveyOzgod

@themightyant I don't think the tunnel is necessary and I think there is a good chance it doesn't exist, or is glossed over like the sewers. My point is I think it would be a real tragedy to have no infected what so ever in the last 2 episodes.

As others have noted, the idea that infected are so few and far between makes the idea of needing a vaccine seem more like a luxury than a necessity.

I don't see any way they leave the giraffes out. As a matter of fact that would piss me off and I haven't been mad about the exclusion of anything thus far.

Re: Mini Review: Startenders (PSVR2) - A Delightful Extra-Terrestrial Bartending Experience

LeeHarveyOzgod

So I bought this and I'm almost embarrassed how much fun it is! I love this game. It's just a silly, fun time, but can also be challenging. You will be disappointed in yourself if you take too long or mess up an order. For 15 bucks you can't beat it. My only complaint is the lack of variety in the customers, basically the same 3 or 4 customers in different color outfits over and over, that is truly unacceptable to be honest. There should be no less than 20 or maybe even 50 different kinds of customers, considering we aren't talking about last of us graphics here.

8/10

Re: Mini Review: Zombieland Headshot Fever Reloaded (PSVR2) - A Simple Yet Fun VR Zombie Shooter

LeeHarveyOzgod

The conversation here is truly off the rails. But to return to the topic, this game is insanely fun, and very addictive. There isn't much to do, and trying to get the B side objectives is extremely hard, but I have fun just replaying levels I've already beaten.

I used to think VR lacked the big budget AAA games that take 80 hours to beat. But this game and others like it have demonstrated I was wrong. Id much rather jump into these 20 dollars games and have an absolute blast for an hour.

Id give it an 8/10. It doesn't do anything wrong, but even for VR it could have used a few more modes or more levels like the last one with branching paths to spice it up a bit.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments

LeeHarveyOzgod

@themightyant That's all I think it is. For people like Pedro and Bella who haven't played the game 15 times in the last ten years like a lot of us... The ending in and if itself in it's truest form would be divisive. I don't expect them to stray far at all from the game here.

I'm hoping they do the infected tunnel otherwise there is no room left for the infected in the show. I think the giraffes will be there. I'm thinking the hospital will be cut down to just a couple minutes. The finale is only 43 minutes long, I was hoping it would be at least an hour.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments

LeeHarveyOzgod

@Octane technically it was 10 episodes. Episodes 1 and 2 were combined because they were worried about ending episode 1 without having met Ellie. I don't like the word rushed though. I don't think it feels rushed just because we don't get hours of dialogue. Like who wanted to see Ellie and Joel walking around a little neighborhood with Henry and Sam scavenging for a half hour?

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments

LeeHarveyOzgod

@MayaMousavi Agreed. The last of us is my favorite game ever and the show is officially one of my favorite shows ever, it ain't no breaking bad though

Seriously, what would be the point of doing a 1:1 recreation? Almost everything they have changed they have done better in the show.

But just so you know, someone who thinks the game is the best game ever made, also still loves this show. The only thing I'm mad about is that it's ending next week.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments

LeeHarveyOzgod

The main problem is you spend hours with Sam and Henry. You spend hours with Tess. You spend a considerable time first with David then evading David. As is suggested these moments can't all be fit into a television show.

I would have liked to have seen HBO do a couple more episodes, maybe 12 total, but they couldn't predict how great the show would be, if they could go back im sure they would do a few more.

As great and praised as episode 3 was, in hindsight it took a lot of time away from the real story.

Still, I'm loving the show, I thought episode 8 was fantastic. Given what the show has been, I think the pacing here was the status quo.

I will say that the lack of infected is definitely a problem. Should be at least 1 infected killed per episode. Several episodes don't even have a trace of infected which does downplay the world being scary and actually needing a cure. It was also silly to implement the underground zombie network thing to never go back to it again.

Re: Mini Review: Tetris Effect (PSVR2) - Stunning Puzzler Now Looks Better Than Ever

LeeHarveyOzgod

@SoulChimera the point is that you have a brand new piece of hardware you just spent a lot of money on and it doesn't work properly with the game. We aren't talking about a free psvr2 update here or a small upcharge.

I have no doubts that the game is good, but to be rated above pretty much every other game released on vr2 when you can't use the vr2 controllers is a little head scratching to me.

Re: Mini Review: Tetris Effect (PSVR2) - Stunning Puzzler Now Looks Better Than Ever

LeeHarveyOzgod

I'm having a real problem with review scores now. Drums Rock takes a hit because the demons are overly designed, yet Tetris ... A game where you can't even use the controllers on the 600 dollar piece of hardware you just bought gets a 9/10.

No game that warrants mandatory use of the dual sense should get a 9/10.

Finally it's 2023 and we are still paying 40 dollars for Tetris? You can get 2 fun VR games for that price...

Re: Drums Rock (PSVR2) – A Pretty Fun, but Uneven Experience

LeeHarveyOzgod

@AhabSpampurse I don't understand the knock for "overly designing the demons"...

I never felt the different variations to be distracting, I never felt like I had the time to really look at them at all.

I could also see if all the demons were the exact same getting points taken off for that lol. So damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Re: Drums Rock (PSVR2) – A Pretty Fun, but Uneven Experience

LeeHarveyOzgod

@feral1975 I haven't had any real issues with collision detection. You have to go in settings and move the drums up to a height that is comfortable with you. I imagine most collision problems are you actually missing since you can't look at the drums, you have to memorize where they are because the demons come so fast.

Re: Drums Rock (PSVR2) – A Pretty Fun, but Uneven Experience

LeeHarveyOzgod

This game is a ton of fun... Until it isn't anymore. As stated there really isn't that many songs, but for a 20 dollar game, how much licensed music do you really expect to get?

The game play is great, closest thing I've had to guitar hero since what, ps3?

My main problem was I was having a blast, then the difficulty ramped up so fast that it became unplayable.

This might be okay if the game launched when nothing else did and I had the time to sit and practice, but as of right now I just shut it off and played other things. I'm sure I will return to this later in an effort to perfect it.

I'd give it a 7 because again with price being a consideration, it would be difficult to find many games this much fun for twenty bucks.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 465

LeeHarveyOzgod

PSVR2! So much more fun than I had with the psvr1. About half way through Horizon. Playing Pistol Whip and Zombieland as well.

I tried Kayak once and aside from pretty looking water, I think I bought into the hype on that one. Drums Rock is also a lot of fun, but the difficulty ramps up so fast, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

As for non VR I'm thrilled with the quarry. Started chapter 3 but think I'm going to restart as I missed to many cards

Re: PSVR2 Early Adopters Are Struggling to Find the Sweet Spot

LeeHarveyOzgod

@carlos82 I felt some motion sickness the first time I played Pistol Whip. But after putting the set down, taking a break, I never had the problem again. The problem was I was actually moving around too much, instead of slightly leaning to avoid obstacles I was side stepping and everything else.

I would also compare motion sickness to riding a roller coaster. The first time, that first drop feels like it's going to make you vomit, but the more times you do it, eventually that feeling goes away.

Perhaps not for everyone, that would just be my analogy.
