@MrPeanutbutterz All of those things are true to an extent for Spiderman PS4 (except the writing being bad. I think the writing is equally just fine in Spiderman and Days Gone)
@TheShrunkenHeadsman Exactly! I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite games or anything but the gane is very very fun and there were some special moments in the game, however few and far between they may have been.
I'd say it's easily one par with Spiderman PS4 in terms of story and gameplay. The only aspect Days Gone lacks in is that it doesn't have the extreme polish most other PS exclusives have. It is admittedly a bit rough around the edges and so I believe this remaster could do wonders for the game as most of my complaints are small issues.
@MrPeanutbutterz You genuinely mustn't have played many games then if you believe that. I'd personally give Days gone like an 8/10 but could totally understand if someone gave it a 6 or maybe even a 5/10. But to say it's one of the worst is crazy
@somnambulance Well considering that the Days Gone Remaster IS a £10 patch, I'd say that it makes sense that it looks like that compared to a £50 Remake of Oblivion
The amount of people here that want factions is astounding.
I'm sure they could do a better job nowadays but original factions was one of the laziest, least thought out nultiplayer modes I've ever seen in a game and ruined the platinum experience
I actually like the RPG games and Odyssey is my 2nd favourite AC game, but I'm just not really feeling Shadows so far. Game is solid but if it keeps up the way it's been so far, it'll end up easily within my bottom 5 AC games.
The story sucks so far but I really like Yasuke and his flashbacks, so it's a shame that playing as him is objectively inferior than playing as Naoe - who may be my least favourite AC protagonist to date besides Connor.
@RBMango Insane because I thought it was by far their best game in terms of gameplay and variety specifically. Also It Takes Two is easily their weakest game imo.
I'd say Split Fiction is the best in every category besides story/ characters - and even then it's loses to A Way Out. Other than obvious stuff like higher visual fidelity than AWO, I wouldn't say ITT does literally anything better than the other two games
@Th3solution The Assassin's Creed books are a good read - I genuinely think that the book based on the first game is far better than the game itself and I'd actually recommend someone just read the book over playing the game if they could only do one.
@nomither6 You don't actually own the game then - you can just play it in its entirety with someone that did buy the game.
So basically because I bought the game, I could potentially play through the entire game with anyone and they wouldn't have to pay for it. But they wouldn't be able to play it without me or someone else that actually bought the game.
After loving A Way Out and being slightly disappointed in It Takes Two, I can confidently say this is on the whole the best game Hazelight has made. Easily the best gameplay out of the 3 and the story is pretty good (but not as great as AWO imo)
@Lup Honestly? I'd go as far as to say it was top 3 best SoP ever. If it had an announcement from Fromsoft it would've been the best game showcases of all time (not that I expected a From announcement with Nightreign around the corner lol)
@IceClimbersMain I'm surprised you haven't heard of Until Dawn - it released back in 2015 and was decently popular. It even got a Remake in October 2024 and is getting a movie (that looks like it'll suck lol).
As someone that has played a decent amount of their games now, I wouldn't get your hopes up. Until Dawn is a great game but other than that they haven't made anything good (actually, they made 2 VR games, Rush of Blood and Switchback, that were both really good. However, their usual games (choice driven, Telltale-esque) are very bad after Until Dawn. I'd consider The Quarry a genuine 4/10 and it's possibly the worst AAA game I've ever played lmao
@IceClimbersMain I think the game you're referring to was the one made by Supermassive? They made Until Dawn, The Quarry and The Dark Pictures games (which this is one of), so you should be able to tell what kind of game it is based off of that alone lol.
I agree that a game has to at least vaguely interest me before revealing it's for PSVR2. The games shown that were for it, I was on the fence about and maybe would've picked them up a few years after launch on sale - but now I'd consider getting them around launch maybe
@IceClimbersMain Well the only game that fits your criteria in the first paragraph was Saros as I think it was the only game we didn't see gameplay for.
Also there were several title for PSVR2 in the State of Play. There were games I was on the fence about but then 'PSVR2' popped up at the end of its trailer and it made me immediately on board to play at some point.
@IceClimbersMain It was seriously the only one that interested you? How???
I can literally name the only games throughout the entire presentation that didn't interest me (Monster Hunter, Digimon, Yakuza, Saros). Everything else I'd consider getting for the right price
Edit: Forgot that WWE game. Also don't care about that
I actually just played the Telltale game for the first time a little over a week ago. As a massive Telltale fan and as someone that really enjoyed the movies, I'm shocked at how genuinely terrible of a game it was. No exaggeration, it was one of the worst AAA games ever made (or AA I'm not really sure what pre-Walking Dead Telltale counted as).
@Dr_ENT Tomb Raider 2013 uses bonfires as save points. Stellar Blade and other souls-likes use these as points that respawn enemies and replenish healing items
@Icey664 Action adventure could be used to describe anything. Dark Souls itself is an action adventure lol.
Also difficulty isn't really a factor I consider in whether something is a souls-like or not. Even if it was - there are a few bosses in SB that took me more than a few tries to beat so it's not like the game is easy.
Btw not trying to hate on SB - I adore it and consider it the 2nd best non-Fromsoft Souls-like after Lies of P. It's just that I don't see why people are so certain it isn't one when it clearly is to me.
@Jacko11 I don't look at every single gleam game in the sale? I usually look at my wishlist then scroll down for about 10/15 minutes with my mates to see if there's anything we wanna get
@Jacko11 I agree that the shovelware games are an issue, but you don't have to scroll past them when looking at a sale? Sony specifically puts actual, popular games near the top.
It's the opposite really, where you have to scroll past all the real games to get to the shovelware.
I'm a huge RE fan and I have a mate that's just getting into the series (finished 2 and 3 Remakes now) and he bought the 4,5,6 pack on sale. We were gonna play 6 soon because I adore how utterly stupid and ridiculous it is so if this PS5 rumour turns out to be true then that's perfect timing! Hopefully 5 also gets a PS5 version and also a Remake as its one of my favourites in the series
@themightyant I have never experienced the 'one more run' mentality. Most of the games people experience that with are very arcadey and they're not typically my kind of games. I'll much more easily play an extra hour of a game I genuinely enjoy than one that is 'satisfying' in the moment to moment gameplay.
@Aladin_Run True but the way people rave about it you'd think it was some masterpiece when in reality it's some dumb mindless fun to stick on for 20 minutes at a time. Strange that VS gets praised for this though when Destiny is just the same concept but 1000x better if you ask me
@CrispyMango92 They always start these challenges for buying new games like a month after release so you actually get punished for buying games on launch.
It's also dumb that sometimes they can have a challenge for buying certain games but you already own them all and because you bought them previously, none of them count towards the challenge
Surprised that Nightreign is so low. Easily by far the most exciting game in the show. Also surprised that Intergalctic was so high. I fully expect it to be great because it's Naughty Dog but personally the trailer was kinda dull and didn't really show much
@Logonogo If something is notable enough to be getting an article on here, it absolutely isn't going to be a 1/10 so I understand the want to remove it.
@smallbrownbike I agree - it's a fun little game for 10 or so hours but I'd had more than enough with it after getting the platinum at 21 hours.
I'm 95% sure the only reason people like the gane is because it's so cheap, so the line near the end of the article about being able to charge double for the game and still sell well absolutely doesn't seem true to me
@Loamy I don't get why people are having this discussion in the first place. Personally I think she looks kinda ugly but that doesn't affect the game at all so doesn't really matter. I like the game so far and I especially like Kay as a character. Whether she's hot or ugly is such a dumb thing to fixate on. It's like the people focusing on Eve from Stellar Blade being hot when the actual game is fantastic and worth talking about.
I've pre ordered probably about 50 games in my life and the only time I've ever been disappointed and regretted it was with Watch Dogs Legion as I adored the first 2 games.
@Maubari You're genuinely not able to see why big mainstream titles get pre order when indie games no one has heard about don't?
I'm pre ordering AC Shadows because I've played and enjoyed every other AC game, so it is extremely likely that I'll enjoy Shadows so I may as well get it as soon as possible. I'm not gonna pre order some random indie game that isn't part of any series because I don't know if I'll like it due to not having any prior games to base that off.
Definitely by far my least favourite Fromsoftware game but I still gave it a 9. Very fun game that I will replay a few times for the plat but doubt I'll be replaying it tens of times like their other releases.
@ItsBritneyB_tch As the other person replying said, yes they still all have SP campaigns (aside from BO4) and I can't speak for if they're as good as WaW or not as I've never played it, but most COD games I've played have very enjoyable campaigns. Infinite Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Advanced Warfare have really really great campaigns IMO and are easily some of my favourite FPS campaigns.
I thought that the Sony showcase was pretty good and was miles better than whatever this was. Literally 0 games from the entire show I'm hyped for.
