@nedbvai Uh, GTA6 was absolutely announced, lol. Living under a rock, or what?

Everything since the quite-good first episode has been a letdown. Everything about it just feels like kinda faceless, generic "prestige TV" (a genre in the decline, as there hasn't been a show of the Sopranos/Deadwood/Mad Men-level quality in years). Like, it's well-acted, well-written, and the production values are there, but it feels more like the show runners are explicitly just trying to make a video game adaptation with a prestige sheen, and aren't bothering too much with justifying why this is different enough from, say, The Walking Dead (which TLOU is admittedly much better than, but has so much in common with, thematically, that this just feels like a retread at times.) Just my two cents. I like the games, and Pascal is pretty good in this, but yeah, it's leaving me cold.

Everything I'm reading confirms that this is not at all for me. But the complaints about dull NPCs, generic world-building, and endless map markers remind me of how I felt playing both Horizon games.

Well, both Lara and Phoebe were born into vast amounts of wealth 99% of the population wouldn't see if they saved every penny they made over a lifetime, and are also the beneficiaries of innumerable elite connections that enabled them to pursue their passions without the threat of failure, so they're pretty similar in my opinion.

Dead Space was always a little overrated, imo. It never was truly scary to me, and the "unpredictable" AI was anything but. The gunplay was fun and made for some tense encounters, but that wasn't enough to bring it above a 7.5 for me.

But they're never going to fix Persona 4 Golden's most glaring audio issue, that being the horribly recast VO for Chie.

On the one hand, it's a wonderfully fresh spin on turn-based tactics. Firaxis knocked it out of the park, and I was really skeptical about the card-based approach. It works, and it's fun as hell.

On the other hand, though, the writing is absolutely atrocious - I already can't stand the generic MCU approach to dialogue and storytelling, and this has all the worst parts of that cranked to 11. Tony Stark is the most infuriatingly annoying, but the writing on the whole is just terrible.

Wouldn't be surprised if we get Persona 6 a lot sooner than people think. P5 was a resounding success, selling far beyond what Sega was expecting, so I wouldn't be shocked if they were throwing more resources at getting the next game out to capitalize on that.

And it's completely overrated. The constant nattering from Aloy, giving away the solutions to the already-basic environmental puzzles, and the utterly soulless dialogue and performances completely ruined an otherwise beautiful and reasonably fun gam, for me.

Oof. The battery life on the standard Dual Sense is pretty atrocious already.

Story and characters sucked ass, I was skipping many cutscenes by the end, but it was an absolute blast and played beautifully on PS5.I enjoyed it much more than either Horizon game.

All that said, this guy sounds like a massive tool.

@Finozzi1696 comments like this just scream "lonely, unloved, and bitter". There is no doubt in my mind that you lead a very sad, lifeless existence, and you likely contemplate the meaninglessness of it all fairly regularly, but spend a lot of time leaving angry comments on internet posts in an attempt to push those thoughts way. Therapy or support groups would be a better use of your time.

My own personal heartbreak is the way every damn enemy is a just a damage sponge now.

What could this possibly be referring to? Graphics or writing? Because if it's the former, Horizon's facial animation is decent, but looks absolutely goofy in comparison to something the TLoU2, and if it's the latter, you must be joking, because the writing in that game is truly terrible.

Aloy's constant inane babbling, coupled with the overbearing "hint" system, ruined the game for me. Incredibly annoying. The writing is god awful, on top of it.

@BeerIsAwesome what are you talking about, "bringing PS1 classics to PS3"? You can literally put any PS1 disc in your PS3 and it will play.

One of my favorite series on the PS1 that has aged like buttermilk. Practically unplayable in this day and age, which hurts to say.

I'm sure it will be a fun game with some cool set pieces and encounters, but personally, I find it hard to get too hyped for "more of the same", four years later, with only marginal improvements to the presentation.

Premium has been such a waste of money, between the dearth of Classics, and only being able to stream PS3. Sony are really trailing MS in this respect, and there isn't an excuse for it.

As an aside, Blade deserves better than the MCU. Rewatched the first two Wesley Snipes movies, and as campy as they are, they're infinitely more watchable than the unbearably tedious crap the MCU has been endlessly forcing through the conveyer line for the last several years. There's little doubt that the MCU/Disney flick will be as toothless and generic as the rest of their stuff, with early reports suggesting they're making a bloodless film with a soft PG-13 rating, and their policy of overruling their directors' choices.

People coming to these games from P5/P5G are in for a rough road. P5 made great strides towards modernizing the series, and it cannot be stressed how much easier it is. I went P3 -> P4 -> P5, and even after turning the difficulty up to hard, found P5's battles laughably easy.

@ShadowofSparta it's a turn-based RPG, so a bold UI design for move selection is fine. Like, have you seen Persona 5's UI?

Had it for PS3, then the Definitive Edition on PS4, and I just rebought the DE on the Xbox store sale because it runs in 4K/60fps. The combat system is still a lot of fun, especially with the added fluidity of the frame rate boost on Series X.

Premium feels like such a rip-off. Truly pathetic offering from Sony.
