So we all bought PS5’s for some rumbles in our Dualsense and slightly better graphics lol

I saw the gameplay trailer for the first time Yesterday and was pretty underwhelmed. It’s very much a PS4-era game. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the game a lot because I love GOW but it’s hardly a system showcase for the PS5, sadly.

At least we don’t have to worry about PS5 games being remastered on the PS6 (because there aren’t any lol).

@riceNpea no, like @AdamNovice said, you can pay real money to unlock the characters (by purchasing gleamium or purchasing one of the founders packs) but you can only level them up through normal play at the moment (and xp boosts from the season pass).

Why are they doing this? It already takes an AGE to level up characters. Ugh.

@OMGitsLiamT yeah, I think if you’re referring to a person in the past tense then it’s ok to use the old pronouns? Like when he was in Juno, he was known as Ellen and used the she/her pronouns at the time. But if you talk about him in the present tense it would be he/him. I honestly don’t know? Like if they re-released Juno on 4K, do they have to change the name from Ellen to Elliot on the box? Or do they just leave it as Ellen? I know they changed his name on all the movies on Netflix where it lists the cast - it’s ‘Elliot Page’, not ‘Ellen Page’, even though they were known as ‘Ellen’ when the movie was originally made. So maybe I’m wrong? 🤷‍♂️

@Jaz007 I’m not sure I agree with that. You want people in your team who are passionate and enthusiastic about their work. If you have people who are willing to work harder, why punish them because others can’t, or won’t?

I realise some people have other commitments, like families with young children. That’s fine. But having a child is a choice. You make that decision knowing you won’t be able to devote as much time to your career (men and women). So why should people who don’t want children be held back?

If choosing not to have children gives you an advantage in the workplace because you can work harder and longer hours, too bad.

I wish they had made Welcome to Raccoon City as a series, rather than a movie. That movie got so much right but suffered from trying to cram two games worth of story into a 107 minute movie.

I would probably change the casting for Leon too - not sure what they were smoking when they cast that role. But everything else was good.

Never played these games on PS2 but I thought the first remake was fine. Silly and definitely ‘of its time’ but fun. Review seems a bit harsh.

I already have a PS5 so I’m not going to abandon the system but we can force change in other ways. Don’t buy games at launch (so they get less money). Buy games second hand (so they don’t get any money). I realise this will hurt innocent devs too but maybe when the devs speak out, Sony will actually listen.

@Fenbops Yes. Remember Sony’s ‘this is how you share a game on PS4’ stunt? MS should totally turn this back on Sony (‘this is how you expand your user base in a global recession’ lol) and go hard on the message that they don’t rip-off gamers by increasing the price of games or increasing the price their console (in select regions).

Greed! They’re doing this because they think they can, not because of inflation. Jumping on the bandwagon. Well I hope it backfires. We need ‘on the ropes’ Sony back from the PS3 era, when the company was in the red and they actually pretended to give a sh*t about their user base.

I hated it from the moment I saw the first trailer. Possibly the worst marketing for a game, maybe ever. There’s nothing less cool than a bunch of middle aged people trying desperately to appeal to college aged kids. So bad!

But… I rented it anyway and (dare I say) it’s actually quite good. I’m surprised just how much I’m enjoying it so far. Gameplay is fun and customisation options for character/weapons/vehicles is huge. There’s an app on your phone lets you change your clothes and appearance at any time (when not in a mission).

Far exceeded my expectations honestly. I’ll probably go for the platinum.

That might be the laziest pro controller design I’ve ever seen. The black/white colour scheme is still fugly AF too. Grade: F - See me after class Sony.

I wonder if it’s a point and click game (similar to The Raven)?

@andykara2003 tbf they probably could have avoided most of this negativity if they priced the game at £50/$50. £70/$70 is just too much.

I am going to be playing the remake on release day (via Rental) and I am looking forward to it. TLoU (the first one) is one of my favourite games ever. But I hope ND do something new after this.

I blame the gaming sites for that. They played a few hours of the game, decided they didn’t like it and then gave it a middling review score (without even posting a disclaimer that they didn’t bother to finish it). A lot of gamers will skip a game at launch if it doesn’t get an 8/10 or more. And Days Gone was, at the very least, worth an 8/10. I’d give it 9/10 personally.

Never played Destiny 2, so I have no idea what characters are in that game.

I heard they were adding a Doom Slayer skin too?

I’m still hoping they add a Cyclops skin (X-Men) and maybe Deadpool (movie style).

Oh and Hulk, Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Vision, Beetlejuice, Ahsoka, Isaac Clarke (Dead Space), Jack Sparrow, Terminator (Schwarzenegger), Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger (Englund), Ghostface, Jake/Neytiri (Avatar), Pennywise, Stranger Things, The Bride (Kill Bill), Zorro, Neo (The Matrix). Maybe some classic Disney or Pixar characters. Off the top of my head 😁

Mostly Fortnite and Multiversus for me. With all the recent delays, thank god for F2P and GAAS. You can always rely on them.

I loved A Plague Tale but that game sold a little more than a million copies and got a sequel. How does Days Gone not get a sequel when it sold around 7-8 million copies? Days Gone has been done dirty. Then there’s TLoU Remake getting the green light when it didn’t need remaking. Who is making all these poor decisions? lol

@helbertpina me too. I gave it a shot but gave up after getting stuck at an impossible fight. I figured the final boss would be too frustrating anyway and quit. Might give it another go now because the game was really good. Just too hard on Master dif.

The rats in this game remind me of the flesh-eating scarabs from The Mummy movies (Brendan Fraser ones). Can’t wait for this - the first game was excellent.

Absolutely loved Astro’s Playroom - the first game I played when I got my PS5. I still haven’t played the PSVR game despite having it in my game library for years. Need to sort myself out! 😁

Edit: wish they were making another Playroom-style game too. It was so much fun.

I’m still mad that they didn’t bring back the Stranger Things skins for the Stranger Things Season 4 finale though.

No Gleamium rewards in the Battlepass seems like a massive rip-off. I would probably spend them anyway but not giving players the choice to save them and buy the next Battlepass feels kind of greedy. Especially when most other battlepasses do this. They want you to buy the Battlepass every season AND buy extra gleamium if you want to unlock extra announcers and stuff.

Could set a bad precedent. Imagine if Fortnite stopped including V-bucks rewards in their Battlepasses. There would be outrage.

FGS. 2022 has gone from being one of the best years in gaming, to one of the worst.

All these delays into 2023 probably means all the 2023 games have been pushed back into 2024.

Nooooo. This would have been perfect as a Christmas release with all the magical feelings and stuff. Looks like we’ll be getting our wands out in February instead.

@jacobia I’d like them to add a web browser too - couldn’t believe they didn’t have this when I needed to use it the other week.

The current version of the Disney+ app on PS5 has always had a very noticeable lag when viewing content. I have pretty good broadband too and none of the other streaming apps I use seem to have this issue. Weird.

Hopefully this new app will fix it because I think Disney+ is actually the best of the bunch, content-wise. I’ve ditched Amazon this month and seriously thinking about dropping Netflix too (Netflix has gone WAY downhill over the last year or so). I’ll just sub again for a month when the next season of Stranger Things comes out 😁

Remember that one time when Microsoft paid for exclusivity of Rise of Tomb Raider? Then tried to hide the fact that it was only timed exclusivity and wouldn’t reveal how long for? Why do Microsoft always play the victim when they’re the dirtiest players in the industry?

They should stop subsidising Game Pass and invest some of that money in first party games. It’s alright claiming all first party games arrive on Game Pass on day one but when they’re so few and far between, it’s an empty boast.

I’d much rather have a steady stream of quality, first party games on PlayStation - even if you do have to buy them. Quality speaks for itself. You get what you pay for.

@GoodGame you get 5 or 6 ‘starter quests’ which give you a decent amount of gold - doing those quests will give you enough (or nearly enough) to unlock one additional character - but after that the rewards for playing matches are pitiful. And those ‘starter quests’ are a one time thing, sadly.

It’s just too grindy for me. I’ll keep the game installed for when I want to play the odd match here and there, but I won’t be buying the next battle pass. The game just isn’t varied or interesting enough to invest the amount of time they expect you to.

Edit: they need to have weekly quests in addition to the daily ones and change some of the rewards to 100-200 gold (currently the rewards for daily quests only give you battle pass xp).

Not feeling the excitement personally. I’m sure it will sell millions but GTA just isn’t my kind of game anymore.

@TeapotBuddha But I do prefer hearing RP vs regional accents. Especially on the news. It seemed like a much more serious and respectable job back then, compared to now.
