Re: Tennis World Tour 2 - A Winner

FuzzyYellowBalls

I wish I could jump on board with this, but I've just been burned so badly for decades with tennis games. I've played almost all of them, owning everything from Pong to Mario Tennis on Virtual Boy to Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast, etc... The list goes on for decades now — And have finally come to the conclusion there will never be another one worthy of purchase.
I think for the time being I'll keep slugging away on Super Tennis on SNES or a nice game of table tennis via Sports Champions with the Move controllers.
I just don't understand why this particular sport is so hard to bring an ace to the consoles. I don't even care about licensed characters or venues; I just want some decent physics, sounds and gameplay.

Re: Retrace the Steps Leading to EA's Star Wars Loot Box Scandal

FuzzyYellowBalls

This whole microtransactions nonsense has killed all the excitement I had for the game I've been anticipating the most, Red Dead Redemption 2.
What was going to be a sure 1st day purchase has now been pushed completely to the back burner.
Sad times. Sad, sad times.
I choose to speak with my wallet and refuse to purchase games that participate in such matters. It isn't just a SWBF2 issue.

Loot crate this!

Re: Digital Games Go Ruinously Cheap on the NA PlayStation Store

FuzzyYellowBalls

I must say, when the PSN store starting having tiered pricing on their sales I hated it as a non-ps+ user... seeing those cheaper prices for other users and all.
Now, still being a non-ps+ user, I love it because it has saved me a tremendous amount of money since I have stopped buying anything digital except on flash sales when it's one price across the board.
So, I suppose, thanks are in order for Sony for helping me keep my virtual and physical wallet closed.

In some ways it does suck for library though, as I would've purchased at least 6 games from this list if there wasn't different pricing. Win some, lose some, as the saying goes.

Re: Sony's Ready to Sell You a PS4 Pro at Long Last

FuzzyYellowBalls

@Useyourname, No, not really. Damn allergies. Ugh. But thanks for asking!

@Dodoo, A red Gamecube?! That looks stellar. Much better looking than my dark grey/black-ish model... which incidentally, hasn't seen the light of day in over a decade as it rests peacefully in its original box inside another storage box down in the basement.
Why do I keep such things? Maybe it's finally time to clean house and part ways from machines of the past.

Re: Sony's Ready to Sell You a PS4 Pro at Long Last

FuzzyYellowBalls

I hear you, @Useyourname. The color of the console is the absolute most important reason for purchasing one or not.
Hell, I'm still waiting for Nintendo to release a red NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U and Switch before I hop, jump and skip in the land of the mushroom kingdom.
And Microsoft really needs to get on board with a green Xbox so I can finally be the master chief that I know I can be.
As far as Sony is concerned, well, it needs to be grey to match my original PS1... or no buy! Because as everyone knows, the plastic shell is the absolute deciding factor of any console purchase decision.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Time to Say Goodbye to the DualShock?

FuzzyYellowBalls

The dualshock is the most unergonomic controller out there. Without a change it's most likely going to decide my purchase with not getting a PS4. I just find the damn thing so uncomfortable.
I have noticed most smaller humans like it, but bigger ones do not. I stand in the land of almost giants, so I'm in the latter. If they wish to keep it, fine... but it should be something similar to Wii U's classic controller option.

Re: Disney Infinity Goes Above and Beyond Skylanders This Year

FuzzyYellowBalls

Outrageously overpriced... much like being in a Disney store.
Hell, I'm just waiting for a full-on NBX game. One where you're completely immersed in Halloween Town. If they ever make a game like that, I'll get it.

Why no Vita love, Disney? - Sony's handheld seems to be on the brink of extinction more and more. So sad.

Re: Sony Executive Teases Incoming PlayStation 4 Announcement

FuzzyYellowBalls

I'm just not interested at all in a PS4 or Xbox720.
I have all the consoles now, but I'm just not sure I'm going to be getting another any time soon... maybe couple years down the road. I don't know though. I can't imagine what they could do better. I don't really care about graphics. Maybe if Move/Kinect is more immersive... that would give me a reason to buy. But a new console for just shiny new graphics? No.

Re: Kaz Hirai: PS Vita Sales Are on the Low End of Expectations

FuzzyYellowBalls

I just bought an external hard drive on sale for $130. It has 2TB worth of storage. That's almost as much as 32GB, right? Yes, for only $30 more I got 2TB. Seriously, Sony? It's not the price of the Vita that's the problem... It's the memory cards.

When did the PS3 start selling? Oh yes, when they lowered the damn price! And that was a huge drop from the original. 50%, if I remember correctly. That's why Sony can boast how good it's doing now.

Having said all this, I think the Vita is great. But something must be done if they want this thing to even remotely sustain long term. It's definitely the best handheld out there, but apparently that's just not enough these days.

And then you have the whole "elitist" crowd who thinks they're entitled to everything for nothing. That's probably a huge part of the problem, as well.

Re: Mega Man Titles Join Brutal North American PS Plus Update

FuzzyYellowBalls

Personally, I am not a fan of any subscription service, so therefor I have issues with PS+ on that level. But what really bothers me is that PS+ has split the Sony community apart. Not a very wise move on their part. They have made it so people not only bicker about XBOX or PS3 being better, but caused a rift in their own community.
I could on and on about the pricing structure, and how it's completely mishandled, but fact of the matter is I just no longer care about it. I just feel sorry for those who think they're getting great deals, when in fact those deals were available for everyone... and you didn't have to pay to have access to get the deals.

Re: Review: Page Chronica (PlayStation Network)

FuzzyYellowBalls

@Gemuarto - I'm assuming you mean Singapore, or as it's officially known, Republic of Singapore. Such a beautiful country. What difference does it make where a game is made? I'm trying to make sense of your comment.

Thanks for the review, Sammy. I wasn't even aware this game existed until recently.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PlayStation 3 Game of 2012

FuzzyYellowBalls

I would've thought a PS3 exclusive would've been named... or at least had more of them in the Honorable Mentions.
When lists like this are made it truly shows that there's really not that much difference between consoles. It's merely something for people to disagree upon and sometimes argue.
I wonder if one of the three won't make it past next generation.

Re: Talking Point: Could 2013 Be the PlayStation 3's Biggest Year Yet?

FuzzyYellowBalls

I can't imagine Sly Cooper ever selling a PS3 in the States; people here just don't care much about that franchise... That is, if they even know what it is. I imagine Sly will be forever lurking in the bargain bins. I personally am not for or against it. That's just how it is.

God of War - This franchise is on the way out with most people I know. Button mashing just doesn't have the same appeal as it used to.

BioShock Infinite is for frat boys. No interest whatsoever.

Tomb Raider looks fantastic. Hopefully it's a proper reboot.

GTA5 - Appears to be just like the previous 3 & 4 - We want another Red Dead-esque game, RockStar!

The Last Of Us looks amazing. This is the only exclusive title for PS3 that I'm truly interested in for next year. A boundary pusher.

Re: Why Is BioShock Infinite's Box Art So Bad?

FuzzyYellowBalls

A 2nd article on this cover?
Although, reading this one makes me have zero interest in this game now. Funny how that works. Just mentioning wanting frat members to play this game threw me off. If people like that are the desired market, it's not for me. The fact that time was wasted going around to frat houses for marketing research... pass! Yes, I loathe people like that.
And I was one of the people who didn't think it looked that bad. Old timey carnival feel. Generic, yes... but isn't that the norm?

Re: Feature: How a Picnic Shaped the Development of Sports Champions and Its Sequel

FuzzyYellowBalls

@get2sammyb Oh, yes. It is an improvement, visually, over the first. I didn't mean for others to think it isn't. I just don't feel that it draws you in like other titles. There's nothing to make this stand out visually from any other "family" looking games. It lacks flair, in my opinion... which is made up for with it's controls!
Improved, yes. Immersion, no.
Could you imagine playing a wonderful title like the SC series but in a video game world with the style of Journey, Uncharted, AC, Rayman Origins, etc... you see, those titles all have completely different styles, but they draw you into their worlds. That's what I'm getting at. Zindagi just needs someone with more style to create their worlds.

Medieval Moves... Ha! I didn't even pick that up in the bargain bin. Just didn't appeal to me. I think I was just mad at Z for not making SC2 at the time.
