@GKO900 VR has ~200 games and new games are out almost every week. Sure most games are short or experiences, but those are cheap so it's fair, and there are dozens of high quality games (RE 7, skyrim, Firewal...). I'm happy with the vr, and considering the market size I think Sony's doing an excellent work to support it. It's not a gimmick.
@Rob_230 Vita sells a few hundred units each month in Europe & U.S and a few thousand units in Japan. I could be wrong but these numbers don't sound like something that justifies financially to continue manufacture the device. Btw don't forget that next year Sony will cease giving free Vita games to Plus subscribers, so looks like this device is (unsurprisingly) dying soo
I assume the Vita isn't really profitable, so I think Sony hasn't completely abandoned it only cause they don't want to upset fans. It's difficult to compete with today's smartphones, especially with this outdated hardware, and there aren't really good exclusives as in the case of Switch
I don't own an xbox, but I really hope they'll sale better and that they're profitable, cause if they'll drop out of console business it'll do bad for everyone. Many estimated that the consoles will fade out in this generations, and I'm so glad estimations were wrong so far, because the mobile gaming alternative is so much worse, and not really because of the hardware differences. So I hope the 3 console companies will do well. Going to buy Switch this week, so heck, maybe I'll even buy an xbox X next month to benefit from the better graphics.
Great!! Beyond 2 soul sounds very interesting. Personally I prefer that Plus would offer more "hidden" gems, less famous games such as Bound and Rime, but can't complain, really enjoyed the selection in the last few months when I first joined Plus, and I guess most people are happier with well known games...
@Sanquine Sounds interesting! Still, the sheer sizes of the bosses in GOW always amazed me, like, you walked on a mountain which turns out not to be a mountain but some creature you'll have to fight with (usually), and when the camera zooms out you see the scale of the thing - that was quite an achievement. In the new one they made more intelligent, but smaller creatures? That's less unique I think.
Question - one of the things I really liked in previous GOW was the mountain size bosses. The scale was amazing. Does the new one has such things too? Because those that were shown in the review weren't that large actually (or maybe those trolls aren't bosses?)
Hate that 25 hrs figure for the campaign, it's too long, and I'll probably avoid it for this reason. Witcher 3 and MVS V ate so much of my time till a few minths ago and not much was left for other games. Decided that I prefer shorter games and enjoy more variety. For me the ~10 hrs in 2 previous GOW games I played was exactly the way it should be, too bad they exaggerated the new one's time just to please reviewers
I'm glad it did so well because the attention to details and the amount of work and quality put into this is incredible. It prooves that it pays off to build something with exceptional quality and details even if it means much more investment in terms of time and money, and not rushing a product to the market. In the ps3/xbox360 the technical achievement was amazing too, no open world game came close to what GTA V did, it really stretched that last gen capabilities
Only "problem" I have with the Plus is that I don't have enough time to play with even half of all the greatness it gives. I'm lagging behind, somewhere in November I think - just finished Bound and Darksiders and played some PS3 games (many gems there btw!), and jumped to Ratchet and Clank (amazing game!) and Knack from last month (very nice) - but still together with the games I bought recently I have a long long list in the queue, hope will get to them someday
Witcher 3 is excellent but not THAT good. It has many distracting disadvantages:
1. Main quests are more listening to dialogs rather than actually doing something.
2. In cut scenes most characters look like they're made of plastic. Something with the lighting and materials are not convincing. There are tricks to make characters in a way that doesn't make you compare to real life, and they failed with that here.
3. Fighting is very easy. I picked Normal mode and there was no challenge at all, and thus not much interest to invest in armor / weapon development. Almost everything was passed with a few swings of a sword and the Quen (shield) sign. Maybe should've picked a harder mode, or they shouldn't make those normal / easy modes at all.
I enjoyed Skyrim better. Graphics in Witcher 3 are much better (despite the "plastic" characters), but otherwise Skyrim felt more balanced game in terms of character development and challenge, and the story was more breathtaking for me.
I don't think that the length should be considered such a big downside and deduce the final score so much, and that's because the price of the title is like 1/4 of a full AAA title. Many VR / non-VR (MGS Ground Zeros?) experiences that last about the same cost the same price, and it's fine.
So based on the review, and removing the length complaint, it looks pretty fun so I'll get it
So much to play, wish I had more time . I think they're doing an excellent job in selecting nice gems that you probably wouldn't have tried without the Plus, and a variety of games in general.
Got one in a black friday deal - this thing is incredible, way more than I expected it to be!
I looked so far at game reviews to get impression of how it looks, and I guess like a few others wasn't really impressed. However, you can't get the way it feels at all this way. Inside the VR the experience is so much magnified and glorious. All family and friends who tried it reacted with WOW. Highly recommend to try an actual device and not judge it based on internet videos.
"I expect you to die" is wonderful too, great use of VR, fun and hilarious. Definitely in my top 5, even though it's short (well like almost every VR game actually)
Happy for them, money well deserved. Played a lot in this game and for sure they've made a huge investment in terms of money, time and resources, they didn't just milked money or had a big luck factor as it happens in many mobile games. Also glad it succeeded since it'll motivate other studios as well.
It's a superb game from all aspects - graphics, story, gameplay, missions design, sound, voice act and more. But there are a few other superb games out there which didn't succeed just as much, and I think one of the reasons is that the game scenario is our regular normal world, with humans (mostly...), and doesn't take place in space / dark weird places / zombies / monsters / other things which we don't usually see in reality. This is why it appeals to a wider audience.
It's one of the very few games which when I play with, my girlfriend can actually watch and not run away after 5 seconds...

How many players can play co op locally on the same console?

@Rob_230 For me it's mostly motion sickness. I guess it's individual because it got good reviews, here too.
