Everything I am reading leads me to believe this is another case like the first game: beautiful, extremely polished, but in the end, it's yet another open-world game that doesn't really bring anything new to the genre.
Has Suda ever made a game that was actually great? I don't even find them particularly artistic or creative. Unique in the gaming landscape, but there seems to be no unifying voice or language behind the games, they're just a hodge-podge of disparate references shoved together in a game that is eye-catching but severely undercooked when it comes to actual gameplay.
I hated the writing and characters in this game, but it was an absolute blast to play. The feeling of barely surviving one of those massive hordes is really exhilarating, and kinda unlike anything else.
Hi-Fi Rush was a complete flop on Xbox, it's not surprising in the least that a PS5 port with zero marketing didn't make a splash. Anyone expecting it to be a big financial success is living in the hardcore gamer bubble.
I was massively let down by it, as a diehard fan since my first FF game on the SNES. I've since come around. The battle system is fast-paced, unique, and really opens up the more synergies you unlock. It's still quite beautiful, and the soundtrack is incredible. It's a masterpiece compared to FFXV (worst game in the series) and FFXVI ("Final May Fantasy").

Re: Hideo Kojima's Next Game OD Looks Like PT Fully Realised
Ah yes, how inappropriate of me to point out the anti-trans slur in someone else's comment, my apologies 🙄

Weapons and Barbarian are both S-tier modern horror, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Re: Sony's Horizon Franchise Has Sold a Wild 38 Million Units Worldwide
@AdamNovice "industry plant" is a complete non sequitur here, no one has ever said that.

Yes, and McDonald's sells about 6.5 million burgers a day. People like buying garbage.

@DreadfulDragon just run an aux cable from the tv to an interface, open up your favorite DAW, and boom, you're ready to record.

Re: Hands On: Oblivion Remastered Is Still Oblivion in All Its Glory, Crap Frame Rate Aside
Blowing the framerate issues way out of proportion here. There are definitely hitches and choppiness outdoors, but they're very minor.
Re: Sony to Turn Horizon Zero Dawn into a Movie, Not a TV Show
The plot of HZD is such a boring mishmash of various sci-fi cliches, it's hard to imagine this not being mediocre, regardless of the format.

@nessisonett better than XV and XVI. Give it another chance.
