Console- Great ! Super quiet, been super reliable, enjoy gaming with higher framerates 4/5
Software- the most of what I have played has been very good.
Mostly disappointed in the lack off any new intellectual properties and the slow pace of sonys first party releases.

Ps5 pro seems such a let down at this point! There are far to many games that run poorly on it

For the first time since ps1 i have absolutely no buzz whatsoever

How would you rate the current generation so far out of 10 Sammy?
It seems to have just crawled by and never got going!
I feel in this current time that the ps5 will end up sonys most disappointing console! so for alot of us there is absolutely no hype for a ps6

Makes total sense as the need to throw away a healthy device because of its power source is totally eco-unfriendly

@LogicStrikesAgain its a catch 22 isnt it! Would gamers prefer a 10-15 hour game but get multiple games from a developer each generation or a 40-50 hour game and just the one title.
I actually think 10-15 hours per game is perfect, because let's be honest a fair amount is needless filler in those 40-50 hour titles.
But its what the consumers have asked for and reviewers will also judge a short game as a negative, so its where we're at

Love it! Sega at their best

Tbf it depends on alot of factors not just hardware power! The switch2 might bring something innovative like they did with the Wii and resi 4! Which in my opinion is the best way to play that title at the time.
Subjective of course

Going from a sega megadrive to the ps1 was probably the biggest leap in gaming for me personally!
No other generation has had the same impact

I feel so let down by this gen that im not even thinking about ps6! Im still waiting for ps5 to really kick on

@Zeke68 maybe its the lack of any real competition this generation again! Sonys best gen was the ps3 for exclusives, my head says was it because Microsoft took a good market share from sony after sonys ps2 success, then in turn making sony raise their game and play all their cards! Just look at all the fantastic first party titles.
Maybe lack of competition has caused this as the series x never really took off

Controversial opinion, I have owned every playstation but I have actually lost a bit of faith in sony this gen, well the whole industry as a whole really.
Really average game library when compared to previous generations in my opinion, with the exception of one or two titles its been really poor, nothing overly new or innovative from sonys first party studios apart from astrobot.
Say this is the final 2 years of ps5 and it continues like it has so far I would say its sony worst console for software

The ps3 and ps4 software beats the ps5 hands down regardless of horsepower or a innovative controller.

@naruball I too have a portal and streaming premium games is a gamechanger on that device.
However I still can't defend sony for 4 years of a pretty much half baked effort to release games considered this was their answer to backwards capabilities.
I never get my hopes up what's releasing on premium! And I think that speaks volumes.

Sony have made an absolute mess off premium since the day it was launched.
Should be the tier everyone wants to have!!!

Both the base ps5 and ps5 pro are great consoles but they are seriously let down by the lack of first party titles this generation.
I'm a fan but not even I can deny that this gen has been pretty average in comparison to ps3/ps4 software wise

@johnedwin The jump between ps4 and five is certainly not as significant and older generations and I expect the same again from ps5 to ps6 so it's not that much of a biggie.
It's not like it's night and day anymore, just improvements

Nothing wrong with it having ps4 specs at all especially of it can hit near 60fps on most games.
Ps4 games on handheld on the go with the quality first party Nintendo software we expect and it's a win win.
If they didn't mess up with the software prices I think this would have been as good as any hardware reveal

All depends if previous ps5 titles will get a "pro boost".
But to be honest I'm more than happy with the base ps5 and my oled tv running vrr

I personally enjoyed the story of code Veronica, plus I think the game had the best creatures from the old resi games.
Next gen Bandersnatch and nosferatu would be awesome

I would still say the next 3-4 years will define the ps5.
The software has been really disappointing in my opinion so far! Apart from a few follow ups from established first party titles It's been a generation reliant on remakes.
My case in point is "the last of us 2".
The ps5 has sold well because the competition has been so poor.
I own a ps5 and this is just my opinion

Cod has had its best years along time ago

The console itself is flawless, not had a problem with it from day one.
I'm a bit let down by software though, apart from some stellar remakes there is nothing really new or interesting.
Thank god its backwards compatible with ps4 software, it would be barebones without its fantastic library.
Just my thoughts 3 years in

Can microsoft really afford to not have call of duty on ps6 after this 10 year deal.
I still expect the marketshare to be similar next gen, playstation has the momentum and as long as they don't screw it up it will remain the same

@MrGawain too many remakes and not enough new ips this gen!.
I agree it's been disappointing in comparison to ps4s software where there was alot of fresh content

@somnambulance oh really! The kids want to get me sonic superstars for Christmas so got to hold out.
They should have split the screen on co-op, would have changed the gameplay completely

This list has me Dreaming of a full on 15hr ps5 "astrobot" game.
The installed demo on ps5 is the closest thing to a 3d mario game regarding thoughtful level design that just plain fun that puts a smile on your face

Just shocked me a bit.
Totally agree with what your saying, myself and my daughter had a blast playing streets of rage 4 together, were as some kids would find it too tough.
I guess we all have different gaming abilities no matter what age we are.
I'd still say crash 4 is too tough lol, well it was for me 😂

Sonic superstars doesn't make the top 15 🤔
Having young children Half those games under 10yr old can't play.
For example crash 4 is way to difficult

I still can't work out how a physical Copy costs less than a download copy at launch

Finished the first game with relative ease but my god that second game was hard, never did finish it.
Great games though

I'm hyped but would rather a new "infamous" game
