I remember a couple of years ago me and wife went to Whitby for a weekend break during the winter for some reason and I can remember walking around there thinking what a great setting it would be for a horror game. Obviously silent hill townfall isn't set in Whitby but it has a very similar vibe and feel to the town where the game is set.
I think it looks great, but like someone else mentioned I hope there is a decent variety of enemies.
I'm one of the 3 people that loves downpour so I'd really like to see that get a remaster in the style of the recent dead rising deluxe remaster but I know it'll never happen
@TrollOfWar he doesn't hate me like that, it's healthy banter and trust me he gives as good as he gets 😂
But there ya go, you just said yourself that you need to spend 900+ just to be on par with a base PS5 and being an open platform simply just does not justify laying out that kind of cash in my opinion.
I think this all a craze and trend that might (I could be wrong of course) die out. I game in my living room which me and my wife share, she's not gonna let me have some big tower thing next to a TV stand whereas a console sits nicely under the TV, it's just more convenient, cheaper, and does the job I want it to do without breaking the bank.
I will agree, not having to pay for online is pretty good though
@TrollOfWar I agree with you about physical not being what it use to be and there not being much on the disc anymore however I would still argue that owning something physical will always hold more worth and value than a download, I'm sorry it just does.
But I think for me the biggest head scratcher is why you'd want to faff about getting certain games running and you can't tell me that's not a thing because it is. Now you'll have to forgive me because I'm older guy and I've never gamed on PC, I'm just going off of what my son and his friends game on and tell me and he spent a fair amount on his "build" around £900 and he told me "oh it's future proofing" but it's struggling to run the latest games coming out while my 5 year old PS5 does it just fine and now he's looking for another graphics card, he hates me because I take the piss all the time, then when his friend is around they try and gang up 😆
I just don't get it!? All that for a few mods but each to the own guys
I'll never understand why anyone would want to game on PC!? I'm not having a go, my 19 year old son is a die hard PC gamer and we have this banter all the time so it's not me attacking anyone just an observation for a middle aged gamer.
There's no physical games so you don't own anything the PC guys claim mouse and keyboard is superior but you'll never convince me something that was designed for work (a keyboard is the evolution of the typewriter) is the best way to play games when it was never designed for such a thing. Then there's all the faffing about you might have to do to get a game running and I just think to myself "why, just go get a playstation"
I remember when dying light 2 came out and the crap my son had to do to get in running and even then it was a bit choppy and I remember saying to him "I'll buy you a bloody PS5!"
So it makes me sad to see that developers would rather put games on a work computer than a gaming console, strange times were living in lol
I'm not knocking people that enjoy VR, if that's your thing then more power to you and I hope you get the most out of it but for me personally, I'm not a fan.
Right, I gotta add my thoughts on this game because I've got it and I've played it for around 4-5 hours.
Yes, it does look like a PS4 launch game but is it broken or unplayable? Absolutely not, I'm playing on a base PS5 and haven't had any crashes whatsoever and I've only experienced a few pop in and glitches during cut scenes and in my humble opinion anyone comparing this to the state of cyberpunk at launch either are lying, don't have the game or haven't installed the latest patches.
My main issue is with how the game was marketed, it was presented as an open world cyber GTA and this couldn't be further from the truth, think more along the lines of the first 3 driver games from back in the day or a much closer comparison would be headhunter on the Dreamcast.
If you like a bit of action, mediocre 3rd person shooting, fast driving and a surprisingly good story and can find it for under 40 quid then give it go but for everyone else I'd say your better of even playing the watch dogs games which are a lot better.
But is it bad as people are saying? I don't think so
I think Sony should take note of the fact that people are still talking about this game and the demand for a sequel is there. The one thing I like about days gone is that is was just...........fun, it is a fun game and we don't get enough of those these days.
On the flip side I think the problem is that there are soooooooo many zombie games now (freakers/zombies, same difference) that it's just starting to get silly and maybe that was one of the reasons behind it not getting the green light, these zombie games are standing out much less than they did 10-15 years ago.
I've tried a few of these sorts of games because I usually like the horror aesthetic a lot of them go for but I just don't have the time or patience to persevere and so I end up just selling them after a few weeks.
Maybe back in the day when I was a fresh faced teenager I would have been willing to put the time in but I'm almost 40, I have 2 kids, a wife and full time job. I'm not into dying over and over and over again it just ain't doing it for me but if people like em then more power to em.
Who cares, playstation games have no business being on PC anyway, the only reason Xbox did it was because their platform was a flop and had to claw back some profits. I'm not bothered personally about PC gamers being able to play playstation games but they are a particular bunch and need to just be left in their own lane, Nintendo gets it so why doesn't anyone else.
I'm not the biggest spiderman fan but I grew up watching the 90's animated series and quite enjoyed most of the movies but I've always been more of a batman guy myself.
Another superhero I've always liked is wolverine and seeing how insomniac and Sony are doing things, I don't trust them with wolverine and my excitement is pretty much dead for the upcoming game.
They'll end up doing something stupid to the story or his character because these "enlightened" writers and developers can't help themselves no matter how much they annoy the fans.
That's what you get from a generation of gamers that only care about "those graffix" and want everything super realistic. One of my favorite games of the last 3 years was Metroid dread so you know why I like the look of this.
I would have gotten a PS5 for days gone 2 and I still would if somehow the game ever got the go ahead.
The confirmation that there would never be a days gone sequel is one of the reasons I went with the series x over the PS5. Not into superheroes, not into horizon but days gone was soooooo underated and felt like it was aimed at my demographic.
I didn't say they don't sell, I said they don't sell as well as third party games.
FiFA and COD sell more on just Playstation than any of the first party titles. These games can sell up to 10+ million copies on their first week alone.
I'm playing it on gamepass at the moment and it's one of the best games I've ever played, but I'd recommend playing the first game before jumping into this one.
Do you guys not think that Microsoft looks at numbers before making these kinds of statements and these decisions?
First party games DO NOT sell as well as 3rd party games (maybe on switch but I'm not sure) that is a fact and the numbers are out there.
Secondly, during the Xbox one era I think it's fair to say that Xbox were putting out bangers like Titanfall, quantum break, sunset overdrive, dead rising 3, killer instinct, Sony gave us a last of us remaster and killzone shadow fall and yet Xbox still lost despite having a much stronger first party offering straight out the gate.
Look at Bayonetta 3 on switch, that game is fantastic but did anybody buy it?? Well I did but y'know what I'm saying.
What has Sony given us so far this year, forspoken!? Yet they still sell consoles like hotcakes in 2023, it speaks for itself
I think some of it is price increase but I gotta say a lot of it is people just buying a PS5 to simply have the hot new thing and then just using it to play FiFA and COD and watch blu rays.
I will be picking this up for sure, I got a PS5 today and almost got a series x instead and this was one of the games that was swaying me a bit, I know the scores were mixed but I'm a massive horror fan and MUST play them all and thought this was an XSX exclusive bit lucky for me I will be playing this soon
Days gone wasn't woke enough for sony so it can't have a sequel, we need to start facing facts that the playstation brand of today is not the same brand from the PS1-PS2 days which in my opinion was their golden era. To be honest I was a bit shocked that a game like days gone came along when it did as a Sony exclusive and felt like a breath of fresh air.
This really is a shame as days gone was right up my street, I loved the whole biker gang and zombies vibe it had and I enjoyed it more than both last of us games but it is what it is and this is yet another reason why I don't plan on ever owning a PS5.
Sony probably has bend working on some looter shooter garbage with micro transactions and roadmaps and what not and that's probably why the devs that could afford to do so packed up and left.

@twitchtvpat they could do shattered memories, homecoming, & downpour as a remaster bundle. I'd pay up
