@RedRiot193 I did read it, you said Leon’s sections are short, but you literally play as him for a large chunk of the game. If you meant his sections are shorter during the early part of the game while you’re playing as Grace, then sure. But overall you end up playing as Leon for basically 50% of the game, including some really long stretches with multiple encounters

A 10 for me, my favourite in the series after 2 and just ahead of 4. I do love the return of proper zombies and the whole raccoon city story. RE2 (OG and Remake) is possibly my favourite ever game so to tie this 30 year old story up that started all those years ago in the Spencer mansion has been a blast.

I’ve put about five hours into this and have to say it’s fantastic. A lot of fun. They managed to make a racing/fighting/JRPG/arcade game work. For £40 you really can’t go wrong. Would definitely recommend.

Did you guys at push square get a hands on preview of TXR? I know it’s been on PC for a while but I’ve got it pre-ordered and wondering how it played on ps5 with haptics etc?

Lots of people only got a ps5 within the last couple of years (including me). The ps5 is an unbelievable piece of tech that I’m still yet to see a game max out its capabilities. Load times are super fast, graphics for me personally are unreal. Unless the ps6 can directly insert the image into my eyes, I see no reason to upgrade for some time yet.

Ah man this is gonna be awesome! I love the way the zombies have gone Romero style, having some essence of the life they used to have. Gives them a real interesting angle instead of just being fodder. Like, how bad will you feel when you realise you killed a person trapped inside a zombies body?

This and RE9 dropping the same weekend OH HELL YEAH!

Love terminator 2d no fate, great to see so many highly rated 2d side scrollers of late. I picked up ninja gaiden ragebound over the Christmas period and was really enjoying until I couldn’t progress past 3-5! Checked online and apparently it’s a game breaking bug that can happen, gutted as I really enjoyed.

This will be great if done right! I’ve wanted a full remake for episode 1 racer form the n64 for ages, can’t beat arcade style racing games

Skate story and RDR on extra this month, nice!

Isn’t switch 2 technically next gen? IRC, the switch 1 is classed as current gen due to release dates of previous consoles (ps3/360/wii, ps4/xb1/wiiU, ps5/xs/switch?)

This is an excellent package, been having tons of fun with it. The boomer shooter mixed in with dark fantasy has a real 90s feel to it. I briefly remember the playing the N64 port as a kid so getting to play this version with all of the usual Nightdive bells and whistles has been a blast!

I was looking forward to this but the more I see/hear of it I’m thinking it will be more like oblivion remastered than say silent hill 2 remake. Which is fine if it was priced around say £40-£50 but it’s priced around £65.

@Kriandis I was literally saying this to my cousin yesterday, I feel video games have gone the same way as rock n roll - devoured, chewed up and spat back out by the corporates

@nessisonett agreed, loved the first game and not so much the second. Felt constantly bleak and depressing to play. Stopped after about 14 hours and never went back. Although I will say the actual gameplay was top tier.

Man horror gaming has been soooooo good last couple of years, stoked for this!

@Bionic-Spencer I was exactly the same. I put around 20 hours in on my first play through but lost Interest and have never gone back, I’ve thought about it when it’s been on a sale. If the ps5 upgrade is significant, ie - fps boost, haptic feedback then I might jump back in at some point.

@Jrs1 haha same, I played Dave Mirror 1 recently and it wasn’t as good as I remember, Matt Hoffman still played great though.

@Jrs1 I was thinking this about Matt Hoffman the other day when I was playing it on psx classic. Would be great to get 1 & 2 in a remake package or even a DLC for THPS. I just don’t think they’d sell anywhere near as much as THPS though and that would stop them from making it.

Why should there have to be a day one patch for a game you’ve bought to run well? This gonna be pants!

@DennisReynolds ah man I’d even pay for it. Such a shame that they ended support when they did, imagine all of the extra clone wars/rebels/mando/andor and whatever else content we could have had added in!

Game is awesome and not just from a nostalgia perspective. I’m about 40 hours in and thoroughly enjoying it still. Not experienced any issues apart from a few frame rate drops in the open world, can see myself sinking hundreds of hours into this over the years as I did when I was a kid when it first released!

@Enuo haha literally first thing that came to mind was the article on here the other day about an ‘inquest underway’ as to why doom was underperforming based on a steam count

I’ve played the first 5 missions and love it so far, loved 2016 but couldn’t vibe with eternal. Seems to be the general consensus with this one.

@BrockSmith me too, really surprised it’s not in the top 10! Feels like everyone I know is playing/played it since launch

I’d love them to do this but modernise it slightly, as others have mentioned the camera angle on the driving is janky as hell if you go back to it now. Doesn’t have to be a full on remake but some nice QOL improvements and this would be ace!

I bet this game still sells a ton physical as Indiana Jones probably did too.

The bad carbon footprint this will be making cannot be disputed though

@Rich33 personally it’s not an issue for me as I play on a tv, not really fussed with frame rates. It’s not something I live and die by but each to his own.

@Rich33 it’s definitely not unplayable, I finished the main quest last night and have a total playtime of 40 hours - only had one crash and that was early on! For context, playing on ps5 slim performance mode.

I don’t get what the issue is with this, literally every game requires a day one patch to start, you’ll just wait a little longer to play the game. It’s not like the internet is going to suddenly disappear and odds are, if you’ve bought the game and have a PS5, you have access to the internet. We should be happy that Xbox games are releasing on ps at all! I wonder if the same article would be written and framed like this if it was a ps exclusive releasing this way ..
