I'm genuinely confused. 77% and 82% are bad now? I always thought scores like that meant the game was pretty good at least. Maybe not great, but a good time nonetheless. Am I missing something here?

I guess if there's a silver lining, MAYBE this means no one will get laid off? And, while reducing the BP price is nice, it's still absolutely insane that we need to help "pay their bills".

Honestly, I think this is a good idea! By doing so, it'll keep Sony in check im regards to single player game quality so to speak. After all, they want their console to sell!

@Jacko11 Could be, but then again, they didn't announce Spider-Man 2s release date in a state of play, and instead showed said date at another event. Maybe a combination of both a distraction and just an announcement?

I guess the silver lining would be that at least most if not all BP employees will be put in other PS studios (hopefully).

I vividly remember playing the pod racing game (I forget the actual name) when I was a kid, and this game screams spiritual successor! I love how FAST the game looks, which some racers struggle with a little. Genuinely hyped for this!

As long as Marvel and Sony don't rush them again like with Spider-Man 2 (I love the game, but it's clear the third act was rushed, even a little of the second act).

@StylesT agreed. Is the hate warranted? I'd say for the most part it is, especially with how insane the microtransactions are. Besides that, it's exactly like you said. An easy to pick up FPS game that you can play at any time.

@rjejr I noticed that too! Just like how for the past few years there were what seemed to be a million Samurai type games. The tide (pun intended) seems to be shifting to pirate games now!

@trev666 it did get a ps5 patch to make a native ps5 version, so maybe they count that as a remaster? That's my guess anyway.

I vividly remember hating the game when I first started, even going so far as to deleting the game! I decided to give it another go, ended up beating the game (without doing everything, Cainhurst included) and ended up really liking it.

Then, when I replayed it and did everything including DLC, it ended up (and still is) being one of my favorite games of all time!

If they end up giving us a remake or sequel, I'd be over the moon, however I'm perfectly okay with the game staying as is.

I'm a sucker for all things knight related, so this is up my alley. I'm also a huge fan of the King Arthur mythos/lore, so when I heard this was taking inspiration from those stories, I was one million percent one board!

If it isn't delayed till 2026, I'd say late October to early November is a safe bet. Take Two 100 billion percent wants to take advantage of the holiday season after all.

In my opinion, I think this is a good thing. Sony needs to reevaluate their strategy when it comes to GaaS, because 12 (I believe that's the amount Jim Ryan said) is WAY too much.

Cause let's be real, Madden, Fifa, Call Of Duty, and more always bring in a buttload of cash for every console they're on and there's already a LOT of live service games out right now.

As a result, people are tired of it, and are rightfully saying Sony should start to focus on single player games again!

People aren't outright saying Sony shouldn't make MP games, they're just saying they should slow down.

I'm personally not going to be picking this up. A game that's 5 to 7 hours for 70 dollars is just insane to me.

Also, from what I've heard, while the story and graphics are great, the gameplay is not engaging or interesting at all.

Given that Ubisoft have been putting out nothing but mediocre stuff (with an exception or two) for the longest time, I honestly am not surprised whatsoever.

Ubisoft has a lot of cool franchises they could use (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and even, Prince Of Persia), but even if or when games from said franchises release, it's almost guaranteed that they'll be rushed in all aspects.

It's sad, but Ubisoft chose quantity over quality and it's really biting them in the rear now.

@anon_pel222 I personally doubt that. I think at maximum the price will be 700 or lower, especially since as time goes on, certain materials used to make the console might get cheaper.

Plus, this is an optional upgrade meant mainly for the diehard PS players.

The Pro is too much money for sure, but at least it's not MANDATORY.

I'd say 700 would be at least more acceptable if they included the disc drive and stand, otherwise, 600 to 650 would be decent I think.

I feel like sony did this event announcing it and the price to test audience reactions.

I may be coping, but I have a feeling they'll do something to sweeten the offer, like including said disc drive, stand, and maybe even an extra controller or game.

If they did any or all of those, I think the pushback would stop at least a little bit.

Keep in mind this is an OPTIONAL CONSOLE. The base PS5 isn't being left behind any time soon.

Makes you wonder if Sony will backpedal a bit and include the disc drive at no extra cost due to the backlash.

@MrMeeeseeeks I highly doubt that, I don't think they'd do something THAT dumb. I mean, they're already getting so much backlash for this, so I don't think they'll risk it.

They didn't do anything like that for the PS4 pro either, so I think we're good.

I have a feeling they'll either change the price, or include the disc drive.

@UltimateOtaku91 personally, I feel like they'll have a showcase of some kind before TGS where they reveal it. Then at TGS they'll have it playable on the show floor. I guess we shall see!

The only thing I can think of them announcing is whatever Bluepoint is doing, another Death Stranding 2 trailer of some kind, probably some Metal Gear Solid, and MAYBE a Spider-Man 2 DLC announcement. This under the assumption Sony isn't saving announcements for their own showcase, which is rumored to happen in September!

@AdamNovice I think it's a safe bet Lego Horizon will be there, given it releases a month later. I thought the game looked really cool so I'm stoked to see more of it!

@nessisonett 100% agree with you! A lot of developers assume we don't want them to use AI at all, but that's not entirely the case. How EA used it here is the correct (and in my opinion, only correct) way to use it, like you said.

I feel like this strike may not last as long as the last one. Main reason being that the vast majority of people are HEAVILY against use of AI in movies, shows, and games. These game companies definitely are aware of this and as a result, I feel like they'll meet the conditions. Especially since all they really gotta do is say that motion capture actors/stunt actors for games are safe from AI being used on them without permission. Also, these companies also realize that if they use AI anyway or get new actors, the backlash would be ABSOLUTELY INSANE, so I don't think they'll risk doing something so stupid.

This game probably had the biggest redemption of any game out there in my opinion

Mine is FFVII: Rebirth followed closely by Stellar Blade! Main reason Rebirth wins is obviously the story is much better than Stellar Blade's. Not that Blade's story is bad, in fact I found it quite intriguing, but the story of Rebirth hooked me basically immediately. Both amazing games 10/10 for me!

@3Above I think this is possible. Especially given they have Sony's funding, as well as the fact that all of the remakes/remasters they've done have sold well, means they could have 1 team for the original IP, while the other is doing a remaster!

I feel like Sony purposely waited to see what Xbox showed off before they had a showcase of their own. This isn't the first time they've done this either to my knowledge! Now that Sony saw what Xbox showed, they can plan their own showcase accordingly. I mean, it's obvious we're getting one here soon (September like in 2021 maybe?) to show off the PS5 Pro. I'd also suspect they show a bunch of first party stuff running on the PS5 Pro, such as the rumored Horizon Remake, Ghost Of Tsushima 2, Spider-Man 2 DLC, and MAYBE the rumored Venom game.

This sounds great and the animation looks fantastic! Hopefully this series is a nice segue into the next game!

I respect Geoff for setting expectations. It's really easy to let theories and hopes to go wild, especially since we haven't heard a lot about what's coming in a long time! Personally, I'm expecting Spider-Man 2 DLC, stuff for Dragon's Dogma 2, and MAYBE something for Horizon (rumored remaster)?

They'll still be announcements like he said, and I'm looking forward to those. As for existing games, personally I'm hoping for some Spider-Man 2 DLC, since it's basically all but confirmed to be happening (the Insomniac leak, and the Beetle dev menu being accessible for a time when the NG+ update came out). Plus, Insomniac still has some suits from another collaboration to add and they said on Twitter they're taking things into consideration (a fan asked about snow and rain, and Insomniac basically said they'd write it down). We could also see the rumored Horizon Remaster, or, if I could be bold, a Bloodborne remaster!

@Beerheadgamer82 agree 100%. Last year they had the showcase and it ended with Spider-Man 2, but with no release date. With this State Of Play they could do something similar where they show a game and then at SGF they give the release date! The showcase later in September (according to rumors) will probably be to show off the PS5 Pro!

I'd love this! Astro's Playroom is a must play for any PS5 owner in my opinion, so a full game sounds like a dream come true!

Square is known to set EXTREMELY high and unfair expectations a lot of the time. A game could sell 10 million in 2 weeks and they'd still somehow say it fell short.

I kinda like this. It means that if someone wants to make a decision, the other will at least have a LITTLE say!
