@W0rl0ck I can prefer to use Sony consoles without needing to like their exclusives. I think the exclusives of the ps3 and ps4 era were better. Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne for instance.

I seem to be the only that has found recent PS exclusives to be very underwhelming.
Spiderman , GOW, Horizon all bored me to tears.

I’ve always wondered what the sales numbers for NHL, NBL and other USA-centric sports games, are outside of America and Canada.

Team Ninja games crap all over Assassin’s Creed. I know where I’m spending my money..

I seem to be alone here but the thing that’s turns me off about games like this and other mega franchises like Assassin’s Creed is the combat.
Floaty, button mashing affairs.
Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Nioh 2, Wo-Long absolutely wipe the floor with any other games in terms of melee combat.

I’m usually left cold by SoulsLikes not made by FROM. This however looks stunning and the gameplay footage is extremely promising.

1. 7/10 is a fine score. A 7 for someone might mean an 8 or 9 for a soulslike fan.

@Constable_What I much prefer to play a Resident Evil game or The Evil Within. They aren’t necessarily the scariest games in the world but they often have very creepy sections and the overall gameplay is super excellent in all of those games (except RE6 haha) Combat is a must.
If I want to play a walking sim style game I’ll play Gone Home or What Remains Of Edith Finch. I think there are some real gems in that genre.
Layers of Fear in particular really bored me to death. The narrative was nowhere near solid enough to justify the total lack of gameplay. In fact I’d go so far as to say the narrative of that game was completely one dimensional garbage and not scary in the slightest..

It’s great they fixed many of the issues after that train wreck launch, but I don’t think this game deserves those sorts of sale numbers.
But then again what would I know - dude-bro trash like GTA sells bazillions of units.

After playing Nioh or Elden Ring, the combat in other games seems like absolute garbage.
Plus Assassin’s Creed has always been awful, never meaningfully updating any of the mechanics and basically farting out a game with a new skin every 2 years. Much like Far Cry.

Disney are a garbage company and regardless of what they psychotically acquire, I won’t ever support them. I hope they implode.

PlayStation controllers have always been superior imo. The smaller version of the OG XBOX controllers were the best Microsoft controllers.

I watch this show with my niece. It’s extremely well written and often deals with adult themes in a really thoughtful and sweet way.

This is a good example of how cut throat the gaming industry is. It’s more expensive than ever to develop games and these kinds of downsizing happen often.
I wish people would realise this before they announce things like “I’ll wait for it to be on PSPlus or in the bargain bin”
Let’s face it, if you live in a developed nation, you can afford to support developers you like by buying at full price. It’s called saving. And not treating developers like you’re browsing a flea market.

Ray tracing or not, the combat in SM games is button mashing. Much like Assassin’s Creed.
FROMSOFT games and Nioh have made the combat in any other games seem trash.
