Dune: Awakening may ultimately find itself eaten by the giant sandworm that is every other freakin’ game when it launches on 22nd September – but hey, at least it’ll have a single player mode.

That’s probably the big new announcement here, as while the open world survival gameplay will be retained, you’ll be able to enjoy it solo if you prefer.

I’ll be totally blunt with you, this was one of the few games at the State of Play which I didn’t really vibe with, but I can see why Sony thought including it might be important. These types of games are pretty big, and Dune is obviously a very popular franchise.

This game’s already been available on the PC for a little while, so I’m hoping dev Funcom has had time to properly iron out the kinks for its PS5 arrival.
