Sequels are fine if they mix things up. Even if I did enjoy Ghost of Yotei and Forbidden West, I don't think I can stomach another one unless they mix things up substantially, the way that Nintendo do with their franchises.

9 for me, combat is amazing and keeps building. Great boss fights too.
These games are never about story. I also thought the level design is better than Push Square made out!

Looks like more of the same, so not really that bothered. Hope I'm wrong and they pull something new and innovative out the bag, but from what they've shown so far it looks like more of the same. I can't be bothered playing the same game again.

Such a good game. The combat didn't get repetitive for me, it builds and builds. Combat is some of the best ever - up there with platinum games for me.

I was going to be mad if Returnal wasn't number one. Best shooting of any game ever. It's like an old school arcade game made into an atmospheric 3D masterpiece. Still my favourite PS5 game by some margin.

For me a 10 should be doing something new or revolutionary, or just be very very good. This isn't doing either I'm afraid. Good game, but more of the same. A solid 8 for me.

I wish more stuff would end after one series, instead of being milked dry all the time.

The Anime is fantastic and I love the game. The combat is great, especially the moonwire. That coupled with the cyberware that slows down time really makes you feel like you're in the Anime.
I like that they added David's jacket to it too, nice touch.
For a sequel it would be cool if you could go into more buildings and it was more interactive. I love walking around the more densely packed bits, on multiple levels with people going about their business, but there aren't too many buildings you can enter. The megabuilding is pretty cool though and it still feels more interactive than a lot of open world games.

The writing was phenomenal, as was the art, so that's a massive blow to them as I don't think the fired staff will be easily replaceable.
Shame, as Disco Elysium is one of the most memorable games I've played. Loved it.

I'm almost at the end of Cyberpunk, and I have to say I've really enjoyed it! I think the characters are top notch, all very memorable. The combat is pretty great too and gets better as you level up and install more cyberware. There's some really good side missions too. A solid 8, possibly 9 for me. I think if they could make the city a bit more memorable for the sequel that would be a good start!

The writing was incredible, so this is quite worrying. Such a great game, might have to go back and play it again.

Can't wait for this! Nothing like that feeling of overcoming a tough game.

That colour scheme makes it look like the PS5 has been in a house fire.

Returnal is an amazing game, one of my all time favourites. The tightest combat going in my opinion, and the intriguing plot and amazing music and sound design, it builds a real sense of atmosphere. The rouguelike elements keep it fresh every run too and the dual sense usage is top notch. Can't wait for whatever they do next.

Fantastic game, with some of the best combat ever! Finished it on OG difficulty, I'd advise people to try that first - part of the joy of the game is overcoming the odds.

Amazing game - my favourite PS5 game. The new Tower mode is ace too, good for experimenting with weapons!

There are permanent upgrades - there's the weapon traits, which get very cool, and also the artefacts(power ups).

Returnal is 100% the best PS5 exclusive. If you're willing to put in the time, there is nothing like it out there. The first game I've ever Platinumed.

Probably worth mentioning the artist that made the soundtrack - It's the Haxan Cloak if anyone is interested.

I am tempted by this, it's one the best soundtracks for a game ever and is so perfect for it.

Returnal has become one of my all time favorite games. Now they're adding coop and you can save progress, never a better time to give it a go if you were put off. Honestly for me it's one of the best action games of all time. Also loved Sifu a lot and Elden Ring is shaping up to be very special indeed. It's such a good time for games at the moment.

I've fallen in love with this game. Just got the real ending, and I can't believe how much I'm still learning with the combat. Speaking of which, it is phenomenal and deep, there's nothing like parrying, avoiding and smashing your way through a crowd. I'd say the last couple of levels aren't quite as good as the first three, but no complaints other than that.

All you Johnny come latelys that will play it on easy - you don't know what we've have been through! You have no idea, man!

Seriously though, i hope they don't make it too easy, the challenge is part of the fun!

Returnal, Returnal, Returnal! It's just bloody brilliant. One of the best action games of all time in my opinion. I also enjoyed the story a lot too - wasn't quite the payoff I was hoping for, but it kept me interested throughout.

@CFDennett pick it up its great. I played it at launch and loved it, playing through again. To be honest I didn't encounter many bugs first time, but seems fine now.

This is one of those games that you have to adapt your gaming habits to. Similar to Sekiro, once you stop trying to play it how you think it should be played, and learn to play how the game wants you to play it, it really is magic. It's up there with my favourite games of all time.

I think Returnal is really underrated/underappreciated. It takes a while to click, but once it does its so so good. One of my best games of the last 10 years, nevermind this year.

I paid £70 for Returnal, worth every penny in my opinion, as its quickly become one of my favourite games.

Returnal for me, nothing else comes close. Astro and Demons Souls are great too, and Deathloop, and Ratchet. But Returnal feels more special to me than all of those. I enjoyed it so much, I'd say its up there as one my favourite games ever. Looking forward to whatever Housemarque do next.

Game of the year by a large margin. Didn't need the mid run save myself, but glad it's there so more people can enjoy this fantastic game.
