@get2sammyb True. I figure if Sony is behind it, then maybe they were given access to behind the scenes data? I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't mind providing it, if it helped to bring PS games over.
@UltimateOtaku91 not to nit pick. If a gamer wants 1080p @60fps. It's not much man. A PC doesn't have to cost 9 hundred gazillion bucks. A lot of people here, seem to think that nothing will run well unless you spend 2 thousand or more lol.
Check out ETA Prime. The guy reviews little mini PCs. Some are only around $500, or less. And one of the games he likes to showcase is Spiderman 2. A lot of these cheap PCs will play it at near high settings with high frame rate.
If my option was a $500 console, or $500 on a small PC. I'd go with the PC.
Also PC doesn't have "exclusives" in the old fashioned sense, but there are a ton of games that have never come to console. Hell, ready or not is a example, it only JUST now came over.
I get you love your PS systems dude. But PC gaming isn't some rich kid only thing.
@SMJ You're comment "watching your favorite movie only on certain Blu Ray players" was brilliant lol. I legit stopped reading, looked up, and went "oh huh" out loud. Perfectly put, and really does make it even more silly when thought about like that.
@UltimateOtaku91 I'd imagine part of the reason consoles brought in more profit, is the lack of storefronts. You're kinda limited on where to buy games nowadays for console, especially if you mainly buy digital.
If I want a game on my PC, I've got a ton of storefronts to choose from. ( 'm an adult, with adult money, piracy is not for me) Not saying that's the only reason, but it's certainly a pretty big factor.
Ive had a gaming PC for years now. It's stupid simple to build, and the "tinkering for each game", isn't even a thing now. I pull up the Nvidea app, it shows all games installed for me. I then hit a single button at the top of the screen, and bam, it auto optimizes the games for you. It does all the work. It takes one button click now lol.
I just built another one using Bazzite, and it's great. I'm going to go ahead and do a pure vanilla steam OS install soon. All you need is the FREE steam deck recovery image. It's literally on the steam websites. With that, any PC is now a steam machine/steam deck.
PC really is the future. I loved my PS1, PS4, and 4Pro.
I loved my OG xbox, 360, and Series X.
But man. Linux and or Windows, plus a PC, free online, and cheaper than life games. Makes it a no brainer.
I get that some don't want to fiddle with building, or just PCs in general.
Honestly though, you're limiting yourself immensely, by refusing to switch or simply add one.
Little extra, I can play any game from the last 40 yrs. I'll always love my memories and childhood with consoles. But yeah, PC is the future.
@IronCrow86 it did for sure. I tell everyone to read the books too. They are absolutely fantastic. Not too long either. The first one in the series talks about how they all met and why it is they're bonded. Sad, but incredibly worth it.
That'd be neat. For anyone that's never played them, they're great shooters. Number 4, and 5 really aren't as bad as people say. Gears 5 DLC "Give Busters" was a beautiful blast.
Steam terms ditate that a game cannot be blocked on any device that runs steam... They would have to pull all their games from steam. It's the only way they can prevent it. Sony has to follow steams rules. Plain and simple.
@Cornpop76 I had that same thought for months now. Apple being forced to allow alternate storefronts, makes me think the EU might make Sony do the same too.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare I think someone above may have mentioned creating a Xbox OS. Like steam OS. License it out and let manufacturers make their own Xboxs.
Linux gaming has come a long way, and I use Linux on my spare desktop. I use Kubuntu.
Right now window "just works" and the average person might not care about the bloat it has nowadays.
@UltimateOtaku91 I mentioned in my first or second comment in here. MSFT may use the EU ruling on Apple, against Sony. They may in the future be able to force there own store front on to the PS consoles.
@GamingFan4Lyf Sometimes it is better to buy outright and I do. I suppose for me it boils down to two main things, gaming in general is hardly even a hobby anymore, it's more of a time killer to me, than a full on hobby. Like Tiktok I suppose. Just there when I'm bored.
Second, I keep it mainly to play with my father at times. He's in another state, so I'm able to download what ever he's playing and jmp on with him here and there. So in doing it that way I'm always able to play whatever game he's hooked on.
I often stick to either Steam, or the Xbox play anywhere sales and mainly game on my PC now.
I use Gamepass, because I work 11 hr days. So a single game like Elden ring could take me months of not a year to finish, and even though I make plenty with all the overtime, I can't justify buying outright. I might play a couple hrs thafirst weekend. Then not get to touch it for weeks. So 15 a month is chump change, and just suits me. I switch from GP to PS+ Every so often, keep things fresh with the catalogue.
@colonelkilgore I kinda see it like this. Simply more choice. Like with the steam deck. You can pla the game on any PC you want, but if you want our console, here you go.
Hell even with PS games now. Play Spider man 2 on PS4, PS5, PC, or steam deck. I think they know they won't sell many consoles nowadays, but I think they still sell enough to be content.
When it comes to gamepass I'll say this... It's been what? Close to 8 damn years now? And it's still going? I think it's lasted longer than Windows Phones at this point. There's no denying that Microsoft has honest to God faith in the service.
@colonelkilgore for sure. With Gamepass on everything now, and that potentially happening in the future (a big IF), I can see why they basically gave up on hardware.
@Boxmonkey I'm have a idea for what they might try in the future. With the EU requiring Apple to allow alternative storefronts on Iphone, I wonder if MSFT might use that legislation elsewhere. Maybe in the future they'll try to use that ruling to force Playstation to allow their storefront on as well. Just a thought of curse, but I wouldn't put it past MSFT.
Again just a thought, but they can probably argue the the Sony consoles, are in the same position as the Iphones. Who knows.
I think with the amount of games they're now able to pump out they can now do both strategies. They can have some come to PS5 and some stay exclusive. They can literally have both avenues on their plate. I don't see Xbox dying now. I see it growing. Makeing some games for all platforms, just like a publisher, but also be able to still have exclusives too. Very interested to see how the next 5 years plays out.
I don't think it's leadership at Xbox that's the problem anymore. It's super clear that it's Microsoft constantly meddling in Xboxs business. Re: PlayStation the Driving Force Behind Xbox's Helldivers 2 Port
@johnedwin uhm... Only say what lol? I made numerous points on different subjects. Explain?
Re: PlayStation the Driving Force Behind Xbox's Helldivers 2 Port
@Gamer83 little silly to say that man.
Some people don't care, and just want to game.
Exclusives arent the big driver for most.
I grew up on both consoles. Ps1 to OGXbox, to Xbox 360, to PS4, Then Series X.
I just went with what seemed best tbh.
I enjoy Xbox exclusives more, but not a whole lot.
What I'm getting at it this. Lots of people
A. Don't care, and...
B. Just want something that's easier than PC.
If PC wasn't so easy now a days, I'd probably go back to PS.
The only thing I see "killing" PS, is if more people realize how easy PC gaming has become.
It's not some hour long session per game, just to get the settings right.
Most games read your PC specs, and do it for you.
Nvidia, AMD, both have it built into their software. Legit, one click, and done.
That's what going to end PS.
It'll still sell fine.
Xbox being a challenger, kept the PC off of most people's minds.
Now though.
I can get the Xbox back catalogue, steam, epic. Practically every game ever, so yeah I stay with PC. And pop in here for some random news.
It's not a lack of exclusives. It's people seeing how simple and accessible PC is now.
Re: PlayStation the Driving Force Behind Xbox's Helldivers 2 Port
@KawakiisaFraud maybe chill a bit.

@get2sammyb True. I figure if Sony is behind it, then maybe they were given access to behind the scenes data? I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't mind providing it, if it helped to bring PS games over.
Maybe just a few examples worth, but who knows.
Re: PlayStation the Driving Force Behind Xbox's Helldivers 2 Port
Looks like they're pushing for more sales. This might not be the only port we see, and might lead to bigger hits being ported over then as well.
Re: Rumour: Starfield PS5 to Take Flight Alongside New Expansion Next Year
Wow. Some weird videogame "fans" in here.
Maybe... Don't buy it? Lol
Re: Rumour: Leaked PS6 Specs Reveal Affordable, Power Efficient Next-Gen Console
@Dodoo you should look at them nowadays. There is 4 main mother board sizes.
The smallest, is a "Mini ITX", and with it you can buy pre built, or piece together a tiny little one.
Thermal take, fractal Designs, and a bunch of others offer cases for that size.
Most are about $60 bucks.
One I was looking at, would have a foot print of 11 inches tall, 9 inches wide, and 12 inches deep, from front to back.
And could still fit 90% of the GPUs.
Point is. You can build a small form factor PC right now. You don't have to go massive.
Just a small cube is possible.
Re: Xbox's Gears of War: E-Day Seemingly in Development for PS5
@UltimateOtaku91 not to nit pick. If a gamer wants 1080p @60fps. It's not much man. A PC doesn't have to cost 9 hundred gazillion bucks. A lot of people here, seem to think that nothing will run well unless you spend 2 thousand or more lol.

@Flaming_Kaiser I agree with you. But Sony leadership seems to know what they're doing. Microsoft is absolutely screwing Xbox.
Re: This Year's Call of Duty May Not Be Included in Xbox Game Pass After All
I don't think it's leadership at Xbox that's the problem anymore. It's super clear that it's Microsoft constantly meddling in Xboxs business. It'll be PS and Nintendo as the only console options soon enough.
Re: Xbox Pondering PS5 Port of Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2
At this point MS should bow out.
Playstation can be the "Winner" lol. And most people should just get a PC.
From here on out, It'll be PS vs Nintendo. Honestly not even worth talking about Xbox anymore.
Re: Xbox Pondering PS5 Port of Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2
@zhoont IDK. PC really seems to be the way now.

Re: Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement Backtracked on PC After Brutal Review Bombing Campaign
@8bitOG yeah, I think if you look at each console Gen, the number never gets past 250 million often. It's estimated that as of 2024 there is over 1.8 billion PC Gamers. add up the ps4 and xbone, ps2 and xbox OG. along with Nintendo consoles for each gen, and yeah, never really breaks 300 mill most gens. PC is just a giant, and I suspect that's why nearly every game in existence gets sold on there either 1st or day 1. Sony selling games on PC makes financial sense.
1.8 Billion potential buyers.
Re: Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement Backtracked on PC After Brutal Review Bombing Campaign
@ChrisDeku Idk, I think it's that PC Gamers really do see consoles as below them, and do not want to be stifled. PC are less of a walled garden, and more of a passion, I think they're more invested than most of us. I dont see it as "hating corpo's". Its like rebuilding a car, or a garden, its personal.
