Re: Poll: Does the Steam Machine Pose a Threat to PS5?

11001100110zero

I think the threat, is showing people what PC can offer. Maybe it isn't as powerful as the PS5 or Series X. Once people see what PC can offer them, they'd more than likely throw down for a better rig.

It's not a threat to PS becoming less relevant, its a threat by showing console mains/casuals what justa litle bit more cash can do for you.

Re: Poll: Does the Steam Machine Pose a Threat to PS5?

11001100110zero

A large amount of people here, apparently do not understand Vram lol.

A RTX 4060 base with 8GB ram performs 99% as well as a RTX 4060 TI with 16GB... The memory Bit, that is what counts.

They are both 128bit, and should at least be 192. 8GB isn't a lot, but we don't know the memory BIT yet do we?

Doubling the ram on that same card, did practically nothing, the 128bit memory ruined it. A high bit memory, even 8gb,
could still do great.

Re: Halo Infinite Is in Fact Finite, Dev Focusing on Campaign Evolved for PS5

11001100110zero

@trev666 I never did play the campaign. Only because I lose focus in open world games too often. It's been backlogged. The multiplayer was great and has honestly only gotten better. I still hop on here and there, plenty of players still. Loads of matches to enjoy. The multiplayer is a fantastic F2P. I hope it comes over to for all of you to try.

I think a main issue is the devs at the beginning. When they made that statement, it was a whole different team. Leaderships changed a ton. Along with MSFT, just giving up.

I think they've seen they can make money on PS. They probably decided to stop dev on this, and build a game they can sell now. Things simply changed from 6 years or so ago when it was first revealed. Idk about the campaign a ton, but I wouldn't say the multiplayer failed. Had low points, that's it.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

11001100110zero

@Rich33 I can see why it would stop you from going to PC right now then. Why let this bother you then? Why allow a company to stop you from playing where you want? Your statement is phrased as a sort of warning/ heads up, that they'll lose your business if they do this.

Why frame it like that? You would end up getting it day one, just on PC. You wouldn't be under "their control" any longer. Why feel as if that's a bad thing? Do what's best for you, not for them.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

11001100110zero

@bazchillin I think MSFT wouldn't be doing all this if Sony hadn't beat them so violently lol. I think initially it was out of desperation, now though, I think they really have found a new frontier. I think they stumbled into it. Even with that, they are changing things up for the better.

Consoles have a place, but do not need to be seen as the only option. Sony can do consoles if they want, nobody says they can't or shouldn't. I think they realize the changes are coming, and shift is happening in real time. I want to see them find a way to balance the options I suppose. They can do incredible if they do what's made them invincible and evolve a bit as well.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

11001100110zero

@Msw7089 thank you lol. My wife wanted a gaming laptop, but didn't want to go all in. We bought a ACER Nitro, I forget the full model. It had a 3050 and 16gb ram. It did cost her $800 on sale, but it's been great. She played stray at 144hz, max settings, and I think it had HDR? not sure. all she does now is Minecraft, league and a few others.

They aren't taxing games, that laptop is 2 or 3 years old now. If she sticks with the game types she likes, then it'll serve her for another 8 or more easy. more ram or a bigger SSD someday, but it's not going to be E-waste suddenly without warning.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

11001100110zero

@Jammer I get that. I stayed far away for years as well for that same reason. I eventually took a look after reading an article about the ease of access now, I tried to find it and could not.

Basically manufactures realized that many people would make the switch too, if it was a ton less complicated. So, they've done just that.

I state these two facts non-stop...

Assuming you go with Nvidia.

1. I pull up the Nvidia app and it auto scans for all games installed, then gives me two options. The first being a big button that says, "Optimize all". I click it, and I'm done.
2. I then have another optional button that will AUTOMATICALLY overclock the system for me.

All I ever have to do is pick a game. That's it. I can of course go further if I want, but these two buttons have done all the work for me.

15 or 10 or even 5 years ago, I would have been right by you in that statement. It's very simply not the case anymore.

For those who want pure simplicity, knowing that console or PRO console is good enough then so be it. I however like a ton of others, want the best. The consoles are fine for many; I just don't want to settle. Simple and good enough? or TWO extra buttons, for better than console.

Most issues with games now are down to lazy/bad devs. A game can be crummy on both.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

11001100110zero

@Northern_munkey Its not that much man. A off the shelf pre built can be had for the same cost as a PS5 Pro and 4 years of PS+.

I upgraded to a 5070. I had the RTX 4060TI before. That card can do ray tracing perfectly fine, and I'd be playing at 150-180fps, at 1440p. CPU was mid tier, i5-12600kf.

If you are aiming to play games at 4k 60, it doesn't take a lot. Nvidia optimizations, the auto tuning, the factory profiles for RAM sticks. It's all handed/ and or done for you. 1 button man, all you need to press. You DO NOT need to spend a gazillion dollars.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

11001100110zero

@Boxmonkey My brother built his son a gaming pc for dirt cheap. Parts aren't that expensive, the case alone was only $30 bucks new. The 16gb of RAM was maybe $35. Graphics card is the one to save for, the rest can be picked up on a whim.

We grabbed a new in box, spare stock 3070 ti for $350ish.

Point being, he spent $700 roughly. The benchmark programs, and steam info, show it can play 97% of the games @ 1080p 60fps. It's a micro ATX so it's pretty small. Doesnt take much now.

Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?

11001100110zero

@JustinTimberlake Naw, it's not to retain the players. They really are attempting to bridge the two ecosystems. One of the main draws for me, to PC gaming was the free multiplayer. I paid for PS Plus from Feb. 2014- up until 2021. Then I made the Series X my main system for a while. Shortly into 2023 I was already planning and ordering for my PC build. Yeah, the yearly subscription saved me money, but it was still money I wouldn't have spent if it were free.

Those costs alone, added an additional $420 to my PS4. That Means I paid nearly $850.00 for the Ps4, and the online access. I was a total fan boy too, so I took it with a smile. Vita, Vita TV, PS3, PS4, then the PS4Pro. I wasn't going to miss out. A $900-$1,100 system is a great option. More power mainly, better deals and game prices, and you pay what you would have if you kept a PS-PRO console anyways.

Free online is a serious draw for ton of people. There is way too few PC gamers willing to accept that and hop over to consoles.
I feel the aim is to use this new device to migrate people to PC instead. A nice step up from consoles, at a good price/ performance ratio.

So yeah, not to save the people they have left. More like making the step into a PC space more accessible, with showing them a MAJOR benefit of PC.

Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?

11001100110zero

@OldGamer999 When I abandoned ship after the Xbox One reveal, the cloud save situation legit bugged me. I paid for it of course. Brand new PS4 in hand (I still feel the Launch PS4 was beautiful lol), and a copy of Killzone, I wasn't going to miss out on the multi-player. Around 2017? My wife bought a XBone S, and we were shocked her old save data was still there.

I do think the cloud saves really need to be free.

Re: Millions Tune in for Halo PS5's Reveal on PlayStation's Social Media Accounts

11001100110zero

@nomither6 Gears and Halos both suffered the "Old Timer" fan issue. Same thing with Star Wars and Star Trek did. They werent exact cookie cutter copies, so they were seen as "garbage".

GOW and Halo both series entries 4&5 were fine. A lot of gamers ignore that things won't always be the same, and default to it being worse in some way.

Gears at least followed the books really well.

stories could have been a bit better sure, but they weren't bad.
Audio and Graphically Gears 4&5, pus Hive busters were all stunning.

Re: Millions Tune in for Halo PS5's Reveal on PlayStation's Social Media Accounts

11001100110zero

@UltimateOtaku91 Well since Sony doesn't want to use any of its FPS Ip's. Its good the PS gamers are getting this. It'll be known as a savior I think. FPS only Sony gamers haven't been getting a ton of fun ones lately. Concord, Bungies thing, no new Killzone, no new MAG, or Resistance. The killed Skyhawk and War Hawk. No more medal of honors.

Sony needs shooters. COD's a joke, BF seems to be doing well.

Sony needed the assist here, and Halo is the perfect fit.

Re: 'We Want to Be Everywhere, on Every Platform': Microsoft CEO Once Again Commits to PS5

11001100110zero

@MasterChiefWiggum IDK man. In pure NET Income, not gross, and not revenue... MSFT pocketed a total of 189 billion these past two years. Yeah, the money isn't all for Xbox. Truth is, Microsoft effectively recouped their money twice now. They aren't hurting lol. We like to dog on them often, but they make that much for a reason.

So, they've forced Xbox to become a joke, they don't care lol. They don't care if 10 years from now, some here are still snickering. They're making money. They really couldn't care less about online gamer dudes, and dude bros, and otakus, and twitter fiends.

They are worth Trillions. I say go for it.

Re: 'We Want to Be Everywhere, on Every Platform': Microsoft CEO Once Again Commits to PS5

11001100110zero

@McBurn It is interesting though. Sony NEEDS PlayStation. Microsoft doesn't need Xbox. PlayStation most years account for idk 36% of Sony's typical revenue and profits. Their music segment grew last year by almost 8% so that's a thing. The phone division seems headed to the chopping block though.

It's weird what Xbox is doing, but they can experiment. Sony can't. I just hope Sony doesn't mess up. I'm with most here, in that I don't want Sony getting lazy. I enjoy what they bring over to PC. I don't want the quality to diminish.

Xbox could start selling socks and hotdogs suddenly, and it wouldn't affect MSFT at all.

PlayStation needs to carry Sony and cannot change too much too soon.

Re: 'We Want to Be Everywhere, on Every Platform': Microsoft CEO Once Again Commits to PS5

11001100110zero

@LogicStrikesAgain Yes... lol. Yes, pc has notable games. GTFO, Battle bit, Black Mesa, Escape from Tarkov. Valorant, I believe. Team Fortress The back rooms, Void Crew, Garys Mods, Star Citizen. Dude the list is never ending.

Check it from my point of view. Yes, I had to wait for some Sony games to come to PC. However, once on PC, I was able to play them in their best form possible. Ignoring the uncapped frame rates (I get 220hz like it's 30hz no sweat), better lighting, higher resolutions, better shadow and fog detail. Then comes the accessories lol. I have a Butt-kicker Bass shaker attached to both my desk and my chair. My 34 inch ultra-wide, with HDR. The same seamless Dual Sense experience minus the haptics.
Dolby atmos, DTS-X, Windows Sonic, a multitude of other 3d audio software.

If I want to game in the living room, I can steam link to my apple tv at 4k 60hz.

Then come the mods, and my god... the mods. Name a game, theres going to be a mod.

I can run a program called reshade, and utilize a set of mods called "Martys Mods". You know those games that didn't get Ray Tracing? Well guess what? Now they have it. Literally give ANY game RTX. 12yo Skyrim, looks like it was published last week.

For a lot of us, the wait is worth it. I ignore the game for 2 years or so and end up with a complete package in its best form ever.

Steam has something like 70 thousand games available. Not EVERYTHING is going to be on PS. Theres a lot of games, that PS consoles, simply CANNOT run. Maybe with the PS6? Who knows.

Re: Halo Confirmed for PS5, Remake of First Game Out in 2026

11001100110zero

@UltimateOtaku91 @Oldgamer999 Please, I've been on here almost 6 years now. Don't act like that lol. You state contradictions quite often my guy.

"Yawn, Xbox Games bad. I'd Never, they can keep it." Then immediately switch to "Ha Ha, I've now got your games, I have your games! Day one, yada yada, I knew it!!!".

Maybe this will get removed. Mods I apologize. His attitude towards others is insufferable. Ban me if needed. Sorry for any trouble mods.

Re: PS6 Could Be Less Than Half the Price of Microsoft's 'Very Premium' Next-Gen Xbox

11001100110zero

@kirkn They have that lol. Its called steam "Big Picture" Mode. You can set it as default, and boot right into that. That's not the only one either.

There's a distro called Bazzite, for Linux, that will remap and further streamline Steam OS. It's designed for Home Theater PC's. That's the term used mainly, for PC couch gaming. I think it syncs up with GOG, and has plug ins for Lutris as well.

With Steam OS, and an emulator like Retro arch, you have access to something like 90% of all games ever released.

Look it up, Big Picture Mode. It's great. I haven't used a mouse and keyboard for gaming on PC in years as well.

Re: Sony Game Helldivers 2 Is Proving a Monstrous Success on Xbox

11001100110zero

@AhmadSumadi my comment was sarcasm lol. It was a jab to those here, who absolutely refuse to accept this sort of news. They can't fathom the idea of an adult, with adult money, purchasing a game on Xbox. Certain personalities here feel thats just impossible.

They see the lies of corporate shills. Lol

Again it's all a sarcastic jab to some.

Re: Rumour: Halo Remake Is Coming to PS5, Will Feature 'Modern Gameplay Mechanics'

11001100110zero

Meh if true. I think we all saw this coming. Those of us who were true die hard Xbox fans, left years ago. When Sony made it clear that they're games weren't going to be exclusive either I jumped to PC.

I do wish people were more like my father though lol, played video games, without caring for any of this. Some of the comments already, are mean spirited. I get it, Sony centric sight. I guess it's just not my thing to see "wins" in something like this. So cool for those who are looking forward to it.

I think super clear now. PlayStation for the console peeps, PC for those wanting the best experience, and switch for the casuals.

Xbox is done. I say just end it already.

Re: Helldivers 2 Xbox Sales Estimates Predict a Helluva Start for Sony's Live Service

11001100110zero

Holy hell. There is a very clear devide here. One side: those that are open to the fact that Xbox players still buy games.

The other side: people who cannot live with the idea of a game selling well. Do the math. Those numbers would mean that roughly 1.7% of Xbox gamers bought the game...

Even with it being that low, there is some die hards in here who still believe that's impossible.

Like really? Are you that dang bullheaded lol.

I'm shocked at how insane the arguments are here, over whether 2% could have purchased it... Again, some of you all need to maybe change hobbies.

Re: Xbox Game Pass May Make Devs 'Wage Slaves', Says Ex-PlayStation Exec

11001100110zero

@CielloArc I'm sorry, lol, pause real quick. I can't tell ifyoure being figurative, or not.

Are you stating, that certain devs have been FORCED to be on game pass? And that if they don't comply, they are then blacklisted from the Xbox store?

Edit: just noticed the quotation marks.

Still though, where can someone see examples of that occurring?

Re: Xbox Game Pass May Make Devs 'Wage Slaves', Says Ex-PlayStation Exec

11001100110zero

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare not to argue, but curious.

If I want my game on Xbox, I then have three options?

Or when it comes to Xbox I then have three options.

1. Sit with Microsoft, and do a GP deal.

I say, I want certain amount of money, and then you can put the game on GamePass.

2. I skip xbox altogether, never knowing how it would have done, in GP or only for sale.

3. I do put it out, and simply see how it sells.

If I skip all three of those options, I neither lose not gain any money.

Why wouldn't a dev, at the least, try one of the ones that puts the game on Xbox. Make money on any sales, or a upfront lump sum payment?
