We thought that Sony’s E3 2014 press conference last month would be chock-a-block with next-gen re-releases of PlayStation 3 titles, but only Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Remastered put in appearances. That doesn’t mean that the manufacturer’s not working on up ports of some of its most popular titles, though, and Swiss store Alcom thinks that Beyond: Two Souls is on the cards for the PlayStation 4.
While it lists several other fictitious projects in its database, it’s put a little more effort into the Quantic Dream entry – even mocking up some box art and offering a product description. Granted, you still shouldn’t believe everything that you see on the Internet – but previous leaks have confirmed that the Parisian developer was at least toying with the possibility of a port at one point.
We still reckon that the platform holder’s got more re-releases in the pipeline – perhaps it figured that announcing them all at last month’s Los Angeles event would look bad. Don’t be surprised if Jodie Holmes’ beautiful cinematic excursion puts in an appearance at GamesCom in August, though – alongside God of War: Ascension, Puppeteer, and, potentially, a few others.

I would buy it^-^
With how incredible it looked on Ps3, the mind boggles at what it could mean for a port to Ps4. I remember interviews pre-launch where mention was made of some rendering techniques from the Ps4 build of their engine had made its way into the Ps3 release. It would be good to see what's in store from this engine of theirs, and with Quantic Dream being the Don, I'd double dip for this.
actually a heavy rain ps4 would be better
At this rate, The Last Guardian will be the only PS3 game to never release on the PS4. And yes it was a PS3 game when it was announced at E3 several thousand years ago. Duke Nukem hadn't even run out of gum yet.
I do enjoy the games this developer creates and didn't get around to trying Beyond Two Souls but im not sure if the PS4 needs many more PS3 games brought across. I believe that some of these games will get lost amongst all the upcoming PS4 games. We have The Last of Us, Diablo 3, Destiny, Driveclub, Call of Duty, Farcry 4, Lords of the Fallen, Alien Isolation, Middle Earth SOM, Dragon Age, The Evil Within, Evolve, Mincraft and many more. Its around the end of July that the games most have been waiting for start releasing. Maybe they should have released Beyond Two Souls in the months leading up to those games I mentioned above. If they don't charge the full £50-£60 and settle for somewhere around the £30-£40 price point I would be tempted but I refuse to pay next gen prices for last gen games.
Just what we need, another re-release.
@Gamer83: I don't get why you are so against re-releases. I mean you don't have to buy them if you dont want to but for people who didn't own a PS3 like me these are great. I mean if it wasn't for these re-releases people like me would never get the chance to play these great games.
@Tasuki
Nothing against them, I'm just disappointed by the abundance of them this gen and the complete lack of any current-gen designed exclusives. Never been this bad at the start of a generation before.
I didn't buy it for the PS3, I won't be buying it for the PS4. It isn't good enough.
Quality!
I think everyone should be able to play this game, on either format.
The thing I think about is this; whether this game gets released or not... is it going to effect the release of AAA games? Is it, really? I don't think so. So if re-releases (or even Indies - which I also love! Indies have offered some of the most enjoyable/innovative ideas in recent years) fills a gap that the AAA games can't, then bring em on!
On a side-note - Would much prefer to see a re-release of Heavy Rain.
I would have Heavy Rain than Beyond Two Souls but, should it get port then, I would wait until I fell in price and then buy it
@Beaston61 Totally agree
If they do it so i can get the trophies on ps4 seperate from my ps3 ones i would definatley buy this again such a good game. I'm so close to the plat on ps3!
Never had a chance to try out heavy rain or this, so I'd get it for sure.
@Gamer83 Actually the PS3 was much worse. It had nothing for the best part of a year.
@WARDIE
If we're just talking about quality games, I'd agree. But I was hoping for a better lineup of games designed strictly for PS4 and X1 and in particular some great games from Sony's first party teams. Sucker Punch delivered, unfortunately everybody else is a no-show. I get for some people the re-releases are great, for me, I've already played TLoU so it really doesn't do anything, I'd have preferred if things could've worked out where ND had Uncharted 4 ready for 2014 instead but doesn't matter at this point, I just hope they can get it done for 2015.
@Gamer83 Agreed, but im looking forward to a few of the third party games myself. It would have been great to have a new Uncharted for this year but I do think that its starting to get better wear games are concerned. I understand how bad people want new games for there new systems but that takes time. Like I said before though, this gen has had a lot more games than previous generations had in there first year.
Bring all the re-release you want. If there awesome i will buy every single one of them. Specially this one and Have Rain to. Never played nether of this two games. BRING EM!
@WARDIE
The fall is looking pretty good for the most part from third parties. Batman: Arkham Knight falling into 2015 sucked but at least Destiny is still on track.
@Gamer83 Yeah its a real shame about Batman slipping into 2015 but atleast its a next gen only game. February 2015 is going to be a great month for games and PS4.
@WARDIE
Yeah, the early party of the year looks good.
@Gamer83: Ah ok I understand where you are coming from. Just sounded like you were against release in your first comment. I guess If I were in your shoes and already played TLoU I would be the same way.
The only game that I am getting again that I have already beat is GTA V but that's cause I like the PS4 controller over the Xbox 360 and everyone I know has a PS4 and will be getting it as well so I will probably enjoy Online alot more with people I know.
Wtf..I just bought this for the ps3
