UK Sales Charts: The Last of Us Shuffles to a Sixth Week at the Summit

Posted by Sammy Barker

Still life in Naughty Dog's adventure

The Last of Us has fought off a calculated attack from Dynasty Warriors 8, leaving it standing at the top of the UK sales charts for a sixth consecutive week. The previous titles to achieve this feat were Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and FIFA 12, putting the critically acclaimed exclusive in illustrious company. Granted, there hasn’t been a whole lot of competition for Naughty Dog’s depressing excursion to contend with – but it’s still an impressive achievement nonetheless.

The only new entry this week was the latest instalment in Tecmo Koei’s aforementioned historical saga, which fought its way into a respectable fifth. A slew of familiar favourites fleshed out the rest of the chart, with Far Cry 3 exploring sixth, Max Payne 3 slowing time in seventh, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim taming dragons in eighth. FIFA 13 and Tomb Raider rounded out the remainder of the list, with the former securing its lowest ever finish since release. We’re sure that the impending new season will lift its prospects.

I still have yet to pick this up. I'm working on Okami HD but as soon as I'm finished this is the next game I play.

It deserves to stay at the top. There aren't many games like The Last of Us and when they come along, they deserve to be celebrated.

Brilliant for The Last of Us, also great for Dynasty Warriors 8 to get into second place.

As everyone else posted, well deserved. Hopefully this continues. And again, nice to see Tomb Raider still making the charts.

I'm guessing COD:BOPS2 and FIFA 12 were multiplats, so this must be a record for an exclusive? Maybe Mario needs to start fighting zombies. Oh, excuse me, I mean infected. ;-)

I don't like blood, realistic violence, or anything resembling zombies, but I guess I'll have to give this a go after vacation. Then I'll play Pikmin 3 for a happy change of pace.
