Re: State of Play: No Man's Sky Beyond Update Finally Brings PSVR Support

It's happening! It's actually happening!! I reinstalled No Man's Sky a couple of months back and really enjoyed it all over again, just exploring planet after plane;t but this is going to take it to a whole new level. However they've managed to achieve this, wow! Just wow. This is one of those times it really hits you how exciting games can be!!! Nerd-gasms all over!!

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a Disc-Less PS4 Console?

I'm think there's definitely a majority of preferring physical copes of "big" games, but buying plenty of digital indie games. I love the physical collection. I'd be gutted if the day of no more boxes comes. Having shelves with all the different generations on is great, and knowing I can play them whenever I want and never lose them if they're taken off an online store or a hard drive dies is amazing. The thing is I think the vast majority of Sony customers don't live in areas with great internet. I mean most people here in the UK don't have amazing internet so if you look at the list of countries selling PS4's, I would guess many would have even slower connections. So even if Sony do release a disc-less version of PS5/6, hopefully they'll also keep the drive version, not just for the millions and millions of customers who prefer/require it, but also for little old me with my nice and neat, totally not OCD or anything, shelves.

@Flaming_Kaiser The ability to download PS1 games from PSN would make this great! I know we can already do that on PS3/Vita/PSP but having those games available on an awesome looking mini PS and being able to buy as many as you want rather than being stuck with the 20 chosen games seems like a missed opportunity from Sony. Actually, if they'd make the thing able to steam PS1 games, without any actually being stored on the system, that'd be great too, assuming they made hundreds of games available.

It does look great, but my original is still on display in the living room, so to pay £90 for a smaller version of something that's right next to it seems dumb. Maybe if/when it's £49.99 i'll jump.
Teeny tiny PS2 though... hopefully Sony will learn some lessons from the backlash from this and maybe do a survey for which games should be included, add features like a rewind option etc.
I'm totally positive to the whole "mini" thing but it needs these extra features to make it worth the "upgrade" from the original.

@Kienda I did the same, mostly to get that special edition pin thing, and it's sat on my shelf ever since, not installed, and every week or so I think "I really need to play those..." then I remember the back log stretches back into Sega Saturn games from 1998 and I figure this is just never going to end!

Re: PS Vita's All-Time US Best-Sellers Show Why Sony Binned System

I remember going to buy my son a Vita around 2 months after it launched and our massive local Tesco game section staff didn't know what it was and there was zero advertising or products in the store Vita-Wise. I hurried to Asda and found 1 Vita with Uncharted laying discarded under the counter, again the staff didn't know what it was... hardly the best start for any console.
We loved it though, great little thing.

To be fair it is damn comfy... well as comfy as I can imagine having a screen strapped to your face can be. Plus this just means more money to pump into R&D for PSVR 2!. Higher res, larger FOV, controllers with analogue sticks, all guaranteed obviously but I hate the waiting! I want it now! stamps feet

I can already taste the feeling of inferiority when I upload something I think is amazing, only for it to be outdone by people with actual imagination and skill! More excited for this in VR than any "normal" VR game, should be incredible when people are up to speed and creating all kinds of experiences that might not ordinarily be approved to be made into a normal game.
