I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on gaming over my lifetime, but I might have never really cared about this hobby the way I do if my mom hadn't bought me a used copy of FFVI from a pawn shop when I was a kid, or if I couldn't borrow Street Fighter II Turbo from a friend at school. This all feels incredibly short-sighted, and the number of gamers who are happy about there being less options overall is just discouraging.
Oh wow, I hope this becomes the norm with cross-platform games. I couldn’t justify buying Cyberpunk again for Switch 2 when I already have an unplayed copy on my PS5, but this gives my collector brain just enough of an excuse to do it.
As others have said, as long as my Vita is alive and well then the Portal is honestly a downgrade to me. If Sony releases a handheld that offers steaming and download play, I’ll happily buy it.
@LavenderShroud I like to chase trophies (unless they require too much of a grind) in games I really enjoy like Stellar Blade. Gives me a reason to keep playing the game if I haven't quite gotten my fill.
I primarily collect these for Switch but I also have Cold Steel 1 & 2 on Vita and 3 & 4 on PS5. This title in particular I'm buying on every platform where it's available, I'm still a little shocked that it's actually happening!
@Member_the_game Agreed, I loved my 360 dearly. Not to say that the PS3 library didn't eventually become great, because it did. But other than Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank, and Heavenly Sword, my favorite gaming memories from that generation were on 360 and handhelds.
That said, PS3 games still great and I have a stack of them I'd happily play through if I could do so on my PS5 instead of my PS3.
@Jayslow Same for me. I put it aside until the update that allowed you to turn off motion blur, that helped a ton.
I leave mine set on quality mode, I'd much rather have the locked 30 FPS than the inconsistent FPS of performance mode. I was really hoping that by the time I finished Stellar Blade and came back to XVI there would have been another performance patch, but it looks like that's not happening anytime soon.
My PS5 and Series S are the perfect combo. I still have access to game pass and all the games I've bought digitally in the Xbox ecosystem over the years, without having to pay for a Series X. There's just not enough of a difference between the Series X and the PS5 to justify the cost for both, and when you play Forza on Series S it's hard to think of it as a downgrade.
Announce a physical and I'll pre-order it/buy it day one.
I don't mind some digital games (I have a ton) but I'm not buying a full-price release digitally. It'll need to hit $25 for be to buy it as it is now, and if the sales don't get better that may happen sooner rather than later.

Re: 40+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Ready, Set, Play Sale
Been waiting on a South of Midnight sale, that’s perfect.
Re: Don't Worry, PS5 Has Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave at Home
I hope this turns out to be good! I’ll likely not be done with Fortune’s Weave until 2027, so the timing is fine.
Re: Two of PS5's Biggest Games Will Crossover This Winter
I never know which of these F2P games to try. Any reason to go with one of these over NTE or First Descendant?
Re: PS3's inFAMOUS 2 Sees an Explosion of New Players with Platinum About to Become Unobtainable
@RagnarLothbrok Sony should have had Bluepoint working on back catalogue remakes/remasters instead of doomed-to-fail live service games.
Re: 40+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's July Savings Sale
@Thumper I've seen the physical in stores for $29 multiple times, if that's an option for you.

Re: Mini Review: Dead or Alive 6: Last Round (PS5) - Dead on Arrival
I bought it and have been enjoying playing online, but I didn't play the PS4 version very much, so it feels pretty new to me.
Re: Sony's Lost Soul Aside Was Rough at Launch, But Another Impressive PS5 Patch Is Out Now
Picked it up for $20 a few months ago, I figured that it’ll be in pretty decent shape by the time I finally get around to trying it.
Re: Meet the Man Making PS5 Manuals for Your Physical Games
@Yousef- It’s my favorite Spider-Man game! I love the Christmas setting.
Re: Trails in the Sky PS5 Remake Reportedly Double the Length of Original Game
It took me way longer than 40 hours to finish the PSP version.
Re: Best Capcom Games on PS5
Amazing list of games. RE 4 makes me incredibly motion sick after like 20 minutes, unfortunately.
Re: Oblivion Remastered: Everything New and All Changes Compared to the Original Oblivion
@ShogunRok Any word at all on if this is getting a physical release at some point?

Re: Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land (PS5) - Relentlessly Charming JRPG Is a Must Play
@Dalamar You're right about it being offline but it's a single player RPG with an original story.

Re: PS Plus Members Can Now Use Their PS Portal Like a Legit Retro Handheld
@RPGamer1 Microsoft offers that on my Samsung TV. I don’t use it very often because my Xbox is right there, but it does work pretty well.

Re: Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land (PS5) - Relentlessly Charming JRPG Is a Must Play
@Dalamar I'm hoping that the new Resleriana game will be more traditional. Then we can have the best of both worlds.

@JustinTimberlake I thought Indiana Jones was pretty well received?

@WizzNL I support that idea!

Re: PS Store Plunges the Price of Almost 3,000 More PS5, PS4 Games
@Tucanino I grabbed in from Amazon yesterday for $45. Not the cheapest but that game just doesn't go on sale very often.
