Re: UK's GAME Stores to Stop Accepting Trade-Ins from Next Month

guardianoftime

I’m to a fresh start with my PS5, so I’m trying as much as I can to buy only great and keeper games to make a collection out of them. Not intending to sell any. Up till now, I’ve got Hogwarts Legacy, GTA V, GT7. Next month will get Street Fighter 6. I like to collect things, so now I’m collecting games.

Re: PS5 Had Sony's Best Year in Japan for Almost 20 Years

@Titntin not at all and you’re absolutely right. Besides, my theory applies mostly to Nintendo since first party games are the reason for its survival imo. PS5 on the other hand is a different story, it has great first party games, not much, but great, and also third party games that are so well done like now how I was enjoying Hogwarts Legacy and even GTA V after 10 years of its release!
Cheers mate and good gaming.

Japan’s mindset had always been different to other countries. They prefer handheld gaming over consoles and people generally do their gaming in the bus and on the go. The reason the Switch, and the other handhelds before it like the DS and the 3DS dominated the gaming market back in the day. The day Nintendo stops making handhelds is the day we will see the downfall of the big N; until then, nothing will change.

@sanderson72 I was in the same scenario as you before I got the PS5. Mind you I got it since 6 months ago, so I had to do a lot of brainstorming if it’s worth the upgrade from PS4 or Switch that I previously had. But man it’s so worth it! If you have a great picture quality for your TV and it’s 40", IMO you don’t need a 4K since larger screens need 4K considering their pixels will get larger. You just need a great TV with great picture quality. The only thing you « might » miss is the HDMI 2.1 and the 120Hz display. And not all games have this feature anyway. I played the last of us part 1 on PS5, and after I played it on both PS3 and PS4, this is on another league.
So, yes go for it and you will not regret it.
Cheers.

Well I’m still rocking my 10 year old Sony Bravia HX855 40” and I’m thrilled to how it works well with my PS5. It was the high end FHD Tv back then with all the bells and whistles which truly shows its potential even with latest hardwares like the PS5. Truth be told, I also saw the PS5 on my friend’s 55” 4K TCL tv and it’s nowhere near as good as my Sony. The colors and general quality are on another level. I do hope to get an OLED Sony or LG at some point. But for now, I’m more than happy with what I’ve got.
Cheers to all and play well.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Vita Struggles Once Again

guardianoftime

I think other countries must post their charts as well, not just Japan! I even predict that Europe and US charts will show better results, even better than 3DS.
One of the reasons 3DS and before it, the DS and DSi are so popular in Japan is their portability and their games which are more, well, quick than those of the Vita or PSP. I know that because I have both 3DS and Vita and I struggle taking my Vita around. But we cannot deny the fact that the Vita's games are much superior than those of the 3DS. Who cares Vita doesn't sell well in Japan, in my country, Vita sells more than 3DS. I like everything on my Vita!
Keep on the good work Sony! Can't wait for PS4!

Re: Talking Point: Does Vita Really Need Online Multiplayer Games?

guardianoftime

As I said previously, it's my opinion, and as I respect yours, I will not do the same mistake twice that I did with the psp. Vita games are very similar with ps3 games, that is why I wanted something different than ps3 like the 3ds.
I am a big fan of ps as I said before. I preordered both the ps2 and ps3 when they came out 10 and 5 years ago respectively. Besides, up until now, games on ps3 are better rated than psv; one major example is the Uncharted series that I adored on ps3 that I considered them games that make all other games worthless. I dunno, I usually couldn't take my psp with me since it was bulky. It's not the case with my ds and 3ds. So if I'm keeping my Vita at home, you guessed it, I can have the PS3.
Nice talking to you guys. It's been fun.
Oh and one more thing, it also felt like an iPad, specially with the touch controls.
