I think Days Gone polarized people like all the bargain bin anime games do. There are people who seem to play every game that comes out, regardless of genre, if it looks anime-y. Similarly, there are people who are going to find this protagonist and his friends pretty cringey, unless of course it reinforces their narrative or worldview on normalcy and the “everyman”.

It is not a bad game, by any stretch of the imagination, but feels like a PS game made for an XBox crowd or something.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner I dislike them for the same reason I found Aloy annoying. All the breathing and huffing seems like someone trying to passive aggressively let others know how hard they are working. Maybe if you are laboring to breathe and hiding from
zombies or robot dinos you should just stfu ya know?

voice acting is good, whatever the director/direction was is kinda obtuse

@starbuck2212 I cant even get past new radahn at my current upgrade/skill level, but kinda bummed Im getting robbed of my chance to get better and get my revenge on the same iteration down the road

if they should nerf ANYTHING, it should be adding a delay on how quickly bosses get sweaty, so we can, ya know, actually take advantage of our upgraded spirit summons without being deleted for it.

little things like that reduce playstyle flexibility imo. Feels almost like DeS “puzzle bosses”, what build and weapon combo trumps this one’s nonsense?

It is a fantastic game for chilling out and enjoying some nice visuals on the PS5, but not the kinda game one worries about DLC for, save the niche “never let the party die” anecdote about playing with a child or other helpless family member.

@Kidfunkadelic83 once you learn about stats (vigor/health is everything) the game becomes pretty tame, it was my first souls game and while I’ll never do challenge runs I completely understand why some people need to do them now

@itsfoz Black was awesome, I barely remember anything other than how much fun I had playing it and how hard it was… would be really interesting to see how it’s aged having forgotten so much

I upgraded to PS4 Pro Pro by accident, in the form of a gift. Was planning on going to PC for a bit, but not sure I’ll buy the PS4 Pro Pro Pro.

@tangyzesty their relative quality peaked on Super Nintendo and personal quality peaked on PS1, it’s been downhill since and I think trying to reach a wider audience than just PS users might improve the brand quality in general of certain IPs like FF

I’m having a good time going through it again, as others have said. The update makes it less tiring on my eyes to deal with all the looting and tedium

@ShadowofTwilight a great “accident” that invariably led to sales. I watched someone get confused on stream and was about to buy a second copy even with an army of people saying not to. Well, how many people didn’t have any army yesterday and now have their umpteenth copy of this FILE?

It seems like a decent accessibility consideration to me. I would prefer stuff like this be implemented in a simple enough way as to detract from development/budget elsewhere.

I love the familiar faces. We already call the first one “Henry game” around the house due to clunky title, glad “Henry game 2” will make perfect sense

Personally I loathed the character but more just cuz it somehow gave me flashbacks to crossover SUVs with faefolk bumper stickers, etc. I also tend to cringe at sexual topics in games, for a lot of reasons, so the brown chicken brown cow crap is lost on me. I’m here to slay dragons not bang the drama club. With all of that said, I’m glad this person found so much value in the role and hope for their sake and the sake of the fans of Astarion they can continue on in some form or another.

@Nem agreed, if you’re in the mood to build/sim, Fallout 4 will scratch the itch, but if you aren’t then it just detracts from the rest of the experience, at the very least in the forum of development opportunity cost

Another reason people didn’t play the FF7 demo is cuz it’s a squeenix game and they went a lot harder when soft was in the name.

More than a couple games fit the bill this month, woot

“Gamers” (people who buy games) have no backbone they are able to equip since there are seemingly no protections for them as a consumer group, certainly none nuanced and complex enough.

You have developers, distributors, et al running around like robber barons, trying to get every blood soaked cent out of this industry before meaningful regulations are brought to bear.

“Early access” is usually borderline criminal. A lack of refund policies on copy/paste/compile software but you can return a power drill to Home Depot you’ve used 1000 times cuz you don’t like the way it smells anymore? The layoffs? The games that aren’t even games without the DLC? Everything WildCard/Snail/Nitrado is doing LOL

Avoidable ***** up? I’ll raise you “criminal intent”

9 forgettable titles and one I haven’t been able to stop investing time into, well after 2000 hours… what is it I can’t imagine again? People giving a ***** about Rise of Ronin et al? Yeah. Trash compared to Elden Ring

Things might change, but at the end of the day, people making games play games, and want to put their name on good games. I wouldn’t worry too much and use your gaming chair for gaming
