Favourite game in the series and probably my favourite game of all time if not top 3:
Characters are great, all fleshed out and interesting .
Story was fantastic and shed a tear as a teen the first time playing it.
Love the battle system to me is near perfect - and crucially the best implementation of summons, being able to control the Aeons. On replay though the main story is too easy!
Its a little too linear but Atleast had great gear and items/secrets to find. Would love a remake and it expanded upon 🥵
Music is amazing also, To Zanerkand and suteki da ne are fantastic tracks.
If it can allow the artists to work in better animations or character models, instead of doing busywork like adding foliage then i dont see the problem. I work in a software company and use AI to speed up loads of menial tasks so dont see the difference
As much as I hate to say it also, i think the younger generation almost laugh at the name "final fantasy" all my friends who play games just think "FF is for weebs im not even going to watch a trailer" no matter how good it is, so they are never gona grab the western games fans.
Think rebirth was near perfect in terms of a middle ground with combat, i dont know what else square can do for sales, ff7 istheir biggest franchise and rebirth is a great game but didnt do the numbers.
Square have been chasing western action RPGS for years and poorly, the pendulum is swinging back towards turn based so hopefully they adjust quickly
@lazarus11 they must not know? its great for RPGs, like metaphor etc, where you cant just save anywhere, what if you are mid dungeon and have to go do something? easy, rest mode and come back tomorrow
I actually cant believe its so even, i presumed 99% of people used rest mode? your game starts exactly in the same place after rest mode, from a pause screen etc, don't need to think about saving or anything.
@savarunl I really enjoyed 15 for 4/5ths of the game, but its one of those in hindsight had a lot of issues, the combat was far too basic, no loot system etc, feels like a beta game. I think the story was okay, if it had better mechanics around it. I am in no rush to ever reply it again though
Guess i'm in the minority but as getting older (30s) i only really care about the story in games now, i think a good story can carry a game. but I've always liked slower paced RPGs to be honest. think its crazy young people skipping cut scenes in a game though! way to ruin the experience
I love and grew up with final fantasy and adore rebirth, vbut my younger friends (im 31 thetvare say 25/26, think im a complete weeb for playing it, that generation mostly think FF isnt cool.
does the graphics not look completely ps2?? its extremely blurry! is it a switch version they are showing or what? i love persona but hoping we finally get one that even looks like a ps4 game soon
call me old fashioned, but the thought of not knowing where anything is in an open word and stumbling across everything terrifies me, elden ring sounds a drag to me because of that, not to mention the impossible combat. i dont care how you come about side quests as long as they are fun, the biggest downfall sounds like the story. i think ff7 rebirth did such a good job having great story moments as well as an open world full of fun activities.
Starting to feel they undercooked the base ps5 now, looking at the performance/visuals of FF16 and FF7 rebirth as PS5 exclusives, both struggling massively, i dont think there is much juice left in it
Easy seeing alot of commentors are Americans. I work in the tech sector in the UK, and most companies here have similar if not better benifits than bungie were offering. Add private healthcare, bumper pension and 25-30 days leave to that too
500mbps but could get 1000 here, however I don't think it will really matter, still seems to be input lag regarding speed, possibly due to the technology. happy enough dropping £500 on a box every 7 years
ps+ extra is crazy, I started yakuza like a dragon like 6 weeks ago and still have a good bit to play. would take me well over a year to get through everything id like to play on plus, so for me its great value even if this month isnt the best. looking forward to try out Kena though
Can someone explain the combat thing to me? I always have enjoyed the combat, feels fair and takes a little bit of skill but not too difficult. Would much rather the way it is than something like eldenring/blood bourne which is just wayyy to difficult for me. Only thing could be better is locking on and the weight of impact, but the finishers etc are great. Only directly comparable game is skyrim where the combat is a complete joke actually made me turn it off.
Actually think it looks much better and usually I cant notice the differene on these things. the witcher was borderline ugly on a modern TV, far too bright and muddy. the better framerate with the improved lighting and resolution changes it a lot, cant wait to jump back in!
Witcher 3 is up there, top 3 games ever. And i usually get fed up and frustrated with a lot of games especially western rpgs. Something about the storytelling grabbed me.
Also from the "north of Ireland" and yeah the accents are hillarious to hear in the game
Got as far as the Childe boss fight and its pretty impossible to me, really really would like to play the rest of the game, would even pay to get past it, but no option
Being from Ireland, she hoenstly sounds like what I think all Americans sound like.... Pretty much all TV/film protrays Americans with that level of enthusiasm and cringe
I got 6 months free gamepass with my new broadband this month, so trying it out on my laptop. Very very little worth playing for me, octopath traveller i am playing through, other than that, maybe forza.
I think everyone is bigging gamepass up too much, there was nothing of note at Microsofts press conference today, as shogunrok said, everything looked a bit cheap. i dont think so y have anything to worry about
I would imagine many casual gamers seen "George RR Martin" mentioned, thought it looked like skyrim and bought it.
Wish i could play these games, but tried bloodbourne for a few hours couldn't get past the first area where the dogs are and you get shot at... The crazy distance between checkpoints, moreso than the difficulty is what puts me off these games
Why does anyone care? More outrage for the sake of outrage, cmon it's not 1998 your ps5 is going to be connected to the internet at all times. I would imagine single player just needs to check intermittently for your save file and it wont matter too kuch if you dont have fast internet.
If thats a reason not to buy a game though, you have little to be bothering you
Cheers for the explanations that makes sense! Dont think most of that would bother me too much, but as you say if a store closes down and you loose your game then thats not so good.
Can someone explain to me why it matters which store on a PC its on? Surley tou just go to that website/app and download? Or am I missing something? Only play on a ps5 here no notion about PC gaming 😅
@arra1213 agree, we know most games are going to be on gamepass for free now. I think they are hoping all media outlets do the same to force sonys hand to do something similar. Think its unfair to the devs though, not sure how it is sustainable.
but yeah I come here for the PS news and I know i will have to pay fr my games without being reminded every article.
@TG16_IS_BAE it isnt though... infulenza is H1N1 A or B, COVID is pretty much a variation of SARS and MERS..
anyways, think Sony did a good job getting more ps5's ready for launch than ps4's. definitely must of been some holding back supply of ps4 at the time of release
WRONG! Tabata said on the previous active time report that the full game will get a major relaunch with lots of new information, come Paris game week! everyone seems to be skipping gamescom this year, with sony taking the same stance.
