The release date for Genshin Impact's next major content expansion, 3.0, has been revealed. The flamboyantly titled "The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings" update will go live next week on 24th August, for PS5 and PS4, and we got a lengthy trailer to celebrate.

The big ticket item here is the addition of the Sumeru region, one of the seven regions that make up Genshin Impact's world of Teyvat, a geographically interesting blend of rainforest and desert. A new swathe of main story quests will be available, moving the central narrative of the game forward, including a bunch of new characters, gear, and the new Dendro element to keep players occupied.

We also got the news that subsequent content additions will be released every five weeks, as opposed to the usual six. It seems like the Shanghai-based developer miHoYo is trying to make up for lost time, as COVID-related lockdowns have delayed patches previously.
