Re: NISA Committed to Bringing Falcom's Trails and Ys Games West at a Faster Pace

cjay_001

@Czar_Khastik @Angelus3K most likely very soon! A major port/remaster/remake is continually being teased by Falcom president Kondo. He’s gone on record saying that they know the demand and to keep looking for news!

I played them on PC and FC/SC is my favorite games of all time!! Thankfully in the meantime if you find a laptop in a ditch or at Goodwill, most likely it can play Trails in the Sky lol. It’s super easy to run.

Re: Trails through Daybreak 2 Leak May Point Towards Imminent Announcement

cjay_001

@Rmg0731 Zero and Azure were an exception last year because that translation work was done by a community group called The Geofront. NISA actually licensed that work then hired many of them to work on the new games coming out. I’m expecting next summer for Daybreak 2, but if it’s more like Winter 2024 or Spring 2025, I’d be very impressed with the translation speed.

Re: Video Game Leaking Culture Has Hit an Embarrassing New Low

cjay_001

In fairness, my wife’s family all has ADHD, and this is not actually that surprising. The condition will make you do things just for the sake of acting out. Not saying that it was ok, but I’m not shocked about someone having an online persona. It’s not like they were trying to catfish people, internet weirdos just fell in love for some reason????

Re: Trails through Daybreak Demo Out Now, Progress Carries to the Full RPG

cjay_001

@GilgaMax96 @B_Lindz For everyone wondering why it’s only the PS4 demo, it’s because it came out first in Japan years ago before they made a PS5 version. Probably just easier to put that out instead of making a new version since those who get the PS5 version will still get their save transfer. I’ve played other Falcom PS5 versions and they’ve all been super solid. Good frame rates and runs at 4k

Re: Helldivers 2 CEO Praises 'Willpower' of Community in Sony Showdown

cjay_001

@pyrrhic_victory the amount of people that refuse to buy games on Epic is very significant. Also I have stopped buying EA and Ubisoft games on PC BECAUSE of the (god awful) launchers. Alan Wake 2 poor sales were just brought up recently and not being on Steam is a part of that.

I didn’t think that the PSN account was that significant until I saw people needing Government IDs for it (not something I had to do in the US) and of course, straight up losing access to the game. The thing about a community is that people will band together, even if the problem does not hit them hard personally, for the sake of others.

Re: Preview: Armored Core 6 Could Give Newer FromSoftware Fans Whiplash

cjay_001

If someone bought Zelda and complained it wasn’t Mario even though it’s made by Nintendo, we would laugh at them for their ignorance.

People trying to do that with FromSoft now is insane. I mean yeah I know they are famous for one thing, but why can’t they go back to their roots??? If you compare something the company straight up said is not comparable to, that’s not doing the game justice and seeing it for what it is.

As for the game preview I saw HOLY COW IT LOOKS GOOD

Re: If Sony Does Ever Make a PS Vita 2, It'll Probably Need Replaceable Batteries

cjay_001

I’m more tech savvy than the average person but no expert, but I’ve not had an issue replacing any of the batteries in Sony products I have owned. The vita def could have been easier as the ribbon cable for the back touchpad is a little scary. DS4 battery was super simple. Going the PSP route though would be very nice for ease of doing it for the average parent/kid. The New 3DS has a really good way to have an easily replaceable battery but not sacrificing the clean look. But definitely a good idea to not let companies go the smartphone route of soldering everything and having to do the heated workbench stuff for batteries. That sounds like such a nightmare to work on….

Re: Best Trails Games Ranked: Which Trails Games to Play and Where to Start

cjay_001

Absolutely fantastic series. Still have the first games' protagonists as my profile pic lol.

For anyone wanting to play the Sky Trilogy, if you have A COMPUTER, you can play it. And I literally mean anything. That 8 year old laptop thats gathering dust? It can probably play it. Easiest games to run by far. And for Intel based Macs, you can run bootcamp and dual boot windows fairly easily. I highly recommend playing from the beginning if you can, but if a PS is all you got, Zero and CS1 are great starters too. Although CS4 ties up a lot of loose ends from Zero/Azure so the impact may be lost if you haven't played them.

Re: The Last of Us on PC Attracts 'Mostly Negative' Reviews for Crashes, Poor Performance

cjay_001

This is literally the exact reason I stopped playing PC. So many bugs and glitches, whether that be with the games or the OS or Nvidia drivers or what. I even have a decent high-mid range one (12600k and a RTX 3070) and have so many issues. The moment I got a PS5 and realized the ease of use to just play video games, my PC went to the back burner. Now I only buy stuff on PC that’s cheap or not on my PS5.

Re: The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails Is a Falcom Action RPG to Watch in Fall 2023

cjay_001

@The_Pixel_King Falcom usually lags behind, but its getting there. Zero/Azure/Nayuta are older games now getting releases in English not that intensive so it may just make more sense to make it for just PS4 and run it in back compat. Starting with Reverie, all ports after that will have a native PS5 port. I have the PS5 version of Ys 8 and it runs fantastic so I know it will be worth the wait!

Re: European Union Likely to Pass Xbox's $69 Billion Buyout of Activision

cjay_001

Normally these buyouts get me a little nervous, but Blizzard/Activison is a large exception for me. With all of the leadership and workplace issues that have been rampant, there needs to be a shakeup. Microsoft is one of the few companies with the cash to do it. Microsoft usually has a good track record of treating their employees well from what I have seen. Sony also has a very short memory with all their timed console exclusives they get, especially PS4 COD era.

Re: Hardware Review: DualSense Edge - An Outstanding Upgrade for Enthusiasts

cjay_001

@nomither6 The Scuf custom controller for PS5 STARTS at $200 USD before some of the options, like adjustable trigger travel that comes already installed on the Edge. They aren't trying to upsell for the sake of controller sales, that's literally what the market is.

Although that deadzone adjustment better get rolled out to all controllers because that would solve a lot of drifting issues.

Re: Hardware Review: DualSense Edge - An Outstanding Upgrade for Enthusiasts

cjay_001

To the people complaining about the price of the controller: you clearly aren’t the market for this.

Just because a Ferrari is expensive doesn’t mean that you have to complain. There’s plenty of other cars that can get you from a to b.

As a competitor to the Xbox elite controller and other custom high end controllers, this is awesome to see.

Re: Ys 9: Monstrum Nox Brings the Fight to PS5 in May

cjay_001

While it is a bummer that there’s no upgrade path, these ports are usually for people who either have never played the game before or would like another shot at the special edition. I’m playing through 9 on PS5 right now and the back compat works fairly well right now anyway. But I did get the PS5 native version of 8 and it runs as smooth as butter

Re: Ys 8 Has Graphical Improvements and a 120fps Mode on PS5

cjay_001

@Denni5m it depends on what difficulty mode you go for. Hard or especially Nightmare makes you have to learn enemy patterns and be able to use the parries (flash move and flash guard). While admittedly it’s not a super deep system, I did really enjoy it, especially when you get all the party together. Story is what makes this game worth it to me but I know that it’s not what everyone looks for in an action game.

Re: Trails from Zero Character Trailer Is Packed with Charm

cjay_001

@nessisonett It's due to the gambling minigames. PEGI recently decided that any gambling, even with in game currency, would amount to an 18. The story got big because if they ever made an updated version of the original Pokemon Red/Blue, it would get and 18 rating (Note that this was not retroactive, so the 3DS eShop version stayed PEGI 12). There's nothing remotely close to getting it to that high of a rating otherwise.
