Ah, but the question is, will these updates enhance the game? I've never played it, but some people seem to feel that the dated graphics and control system are part of the overall "B" movie experience. So will these updates help or hinder the experience, I wonder. I guess, as long as it isn't akin to cleaning up the fog for the Silent Hill 2 remake(which was just an awful choice), it will hopefully just make the game a little more palatable. I'm very intrigued by the schizoid premise of this game, I must admit...
Super excited for this one!! Were those mini-game shots near the end of the trailer? (for example, I saw "Bit trip city", obviously a tribute to the awesome Bit Trip games - was wondering how much they actually factor into the game as a whole)
Wow - this actually looks really good! I'll have to consider it now. How easy is it to dip in and out of the game? Can you save whenever you want? (I often have to game in bite-size chunks due to other life commitments).
I really like PS+. Mighty fine value if you ask me. More than pays for itself, even if you don't buy full retail digital games (and I only rarely do). I love all the PSN indie stuff, discounts, free games, etc.
For anyone interested, I just looked up more info and it seems that the collection will include more than 30 games, so I guess the cost isn't so bad when you factor that in...
Mmm...seems a bit overpriced. Incidentally, just saw the "art of video games" exhibit in Washington DC, and it was cool to see that Marble Madness was one of the featured games. This does look cool, I'm just not so sure it is 30 dollars cool.
Umm, I guess I'm in the minority, but I just don't see the point of this --- I suppose it's a marketing strategy? However, I'd rather save my money for games. Honestly, I don't spend much time looking at the system itself, and the "old" slim already performs really well. Just my 2 cents.
@get2sammyb I agree with what ThreadShadow said, but also, I'm simply not ready to invest in a new system. I've always been a Nintendo guy, bit the bullet a few months ago and invested in a PS3, and have been really happy. However, I have SO MANY games to play on the PS3 (not to mention Steam or Wii), I can't see myself buying a PS4 anytime soon, especially if there is no backwards compatibility with PS3 gamees... Last Guardian was originally promised for PS3, so I really hope it stays there. Otherwise it feels a bit like false advertising.
Well, I hope you are right ThreadShadow. If Last Guardian a) doesn't come out (not that likely), or b) comes out on PS4 (more likely), I will not be a happy camper. Here's hoping...
I very much enjoyed it as well. The experience is more powerful than the gameplay itself, so a 7/10 seems fair, but I'd probably give it 2 scores: story/atmosphere: 9/10, gameplay: 7/10
It's really worth playing, Anyone know if a soundtrack will be released? I loved the music,
I've already pre-ordered this, and I'm super-excited! The trailer was very cool. Tiny complaint: I wish the CG boy's face looked a little better. I know that faces are hard to pull-off...
This is very disappointing to me. I sincerely hope they don't shelve it until PS4. I'm not at all set on buying a new system, frankly, but I desperately want to play this game. Ugh, indeed.
@Kage_88 Yes, I get all warm and fuzzy when I hear the "pling" trophy noise. They really nailed that sound!
Generally, I'm not too obsessed with trophies - don't really have time to be, honestly. I'm also not nearly good enough of a gamer to worry myself about them...and that's alright. I enjoy games. THAT is the point to gaming.
Sorry, one more thing. It doesn't seem that Pac-Man is going to be included in this particular sale - maybe a subsequent one instead. See the official link I posted above, it's not on the list.
I will definitely get Pac-Man...and possibly Closure. That said, I probably wouldn't if I didn't have PS+ (which has totally been worth it). 50% off is a much better deal than 30%. True, not as deeply discounted as Steam, but still pretty good.
Cool! I got this on Wii, didn't end up finishing it and sold it, but I think an HD coat of paint on an already beautiful game might suck me back in again...
This review is very helpful. I'd like to play a demo of this game just to get a taste of the aesthetic, but I have a feeling the apparent sexism would bother me enough to not want to play the game all the way through.
I enjoyed the demo, and I think this review is sport on. Well done! The backwards checkpoint system is what turns me off from this one. I do agree that some of the ideas are pretty brilliant though. I like that this game isn't being violent for the sake of being violent - it seems to have a pretty deep story, and I dig that it is trying to be truly survival-based...but not everything works...
I think it could be fun...but I am also concerned also about light issues. The eye is not the most sophisticated thing I've ever seen, I'm reserving judgment for now...
This looks quite impressive technically and atmospherically, but almost TOO brutal for my tastes. Also, I get a little tired of all the f-bombs in games. Still, I'm sure the game is probably going to be amazing.
I just caved and bought the ultimate bundle (a steal at $19.59 for Plus subscribers!) I agree...this game is AMAZING. Since I recently got a ps3, I have so many games to catch up on!
Wow, that was a great read guys! I feel like I like I have a much better perspective on what is going on now, so I'll be able to make more sense out of E3. I am also super excited about the next Quantic Dreams project!
Also, I hope that they reveal some decent titles for Move instead of dropping it altogether. Child of Eden was fun! I want more Move shooter support. I'm not a fan of using a gaming pad with shooters and Move is closer to mouse.
Looks great - the Kara demo seemed amazing, from what I read of it. This could reach a new level with storytelling, as long as the gameplay matches it.
Yes, I'm definitely most tempted by Red Dead Redemption. Hmmm....
True, about the Steam summer sale being even bigger savings, but my fairly new laptop will still in no way support modern 3D games without major slowdown, sadly..
@Splat I agree. I really don't care about mobile gaming. If I'm out and about, I have other things to occupy my time, like the outdoors. I infinitely prefer the console experience. Vita does seem like solid hardware, however, I will give it that.

Yay - I'd only done the game trial so far, so I'm excited to have Borderlands! I love the treasure-hunting and art style of the game.

Awesome news! I'm just now getting into the TV series, and really enjoyed the demo. I'm super excited about this.
Re: By the Way, There's a New Optional PS3 Firmware Update
Yeah, I don't think firmware updates are such a big deal. I dunno, I suppose it's mildly annoying, but not a huge problem, imo.

According to this link: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/06/29/psn-summer-sale-starts-tuesday-bonus-discounts-for-plus-members/
Gotham City Imposters is also going on sale.
Hmm...I'm also tempted by inFAMOUS FOB.

From the bit I've seen, I agree. This doesn't look very tense at all... sigh.
Re: Store Update: 19th June 2012 (North America)
Tomba! sounds cool, but I'm not sure I'd pay $10 for it, being an unknown game to me. I'd probably pay $6.
Re: Review: Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock (PlayStation 3)
That's too bad...
Re: Review: inFAMOUS 2 (PlayStation 3)
Haven't tried this game, and am excited to do so! I got it free from PS plus!

Re: LEGO Lord of the Rings Scales PS3 and Vita This Fall
Woah...I guess it was only a matter of time. And yet, I'm sure I'll be playing this. Still find these darn LEGO games so addictive!
Not sure how I feel about the use of voices either...I'm reserving judgment for now.
Re: Review: Silent Hill HD Collection (PlayStation 3)
Yes, I have read many bad things about this port. The lack of fog in SH2 just wrecks that game's atmosphere, imo. I'll stick with my PS2 version.

Which is better - this or HofD Overkill EC?
Re: Review: House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut (PlayStation 3)
This seems more like a 7 out of 10 to me...based on what I have read and seen. Trying to decide between this and HotD IV...
