Re: Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut Spooks PS3 in 2013

Ah, but the question is, will these updates enhance the game? I've never played it, but some people seem to feel that the dated graphics and control system are part of the overall "B" movie experience. So will these updates help or hinder the experience, I wonder. I guess, as long as it isn't akin to cleaning up the fog for the Silent Hill 2 remake(which was just an awful choice), it will hopefully just make the game a little more palatable. I'm very intrigued by the schizoid premise of this game, I must admit...

Wow - this actually looks really good! I'll have to consider it now. How easy is it to dip in and out of the game? Can you save whenever you want? (I often have to game in bite-size chunks due to other life commitments).

Re: Midway Arcade Origins Resurrects Classics for PS3

Mmm...seems a bit overpriced. Incidentally, just saw the "art of video games" exhibit in Washington DC, and it was cool to see that Marble Madness was one of the featured games. This does look cool, I'm just not so sure it is 30 dollars cool.

Re: Sony Officially Unveils the PlayStation 3 Super Slim

Umm, I guess I'm in the minority, but I just don't see the point of this --- I suppose it's a marketing strategy? However, I'd rather save my money for games. Honestly, I don't spend much time looking at the system itself, and the "old" slim already performs really well. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Team ICO Loses More Key Personnel

@get2sammyb I agree with what ThreadShadow said, but also, I'm simply not ready to invest in a new system. I've always been a Nintendo guy, bit the bullet a few months ago and invested in a PS3, and have been really happy. However, I have SO MANY games to play on the PS3 (not to mention Steam or Wii), I can't see myself buying a PS4 anytime soon, especially if there is no backwards compatibility with PS3 gamees... Last Guardian was originally promised for PS3, so I really hope it stays there. Otherwise it feels a bit like false advertising.

Re: Team ICO Loses More Key Personnel

Well, I hope you are right ThreadShadow. If Last Guardian a) doesn't come out (not that likely), or b) comes out on PS4 (more likely), I will not be a happy camper. Here's hoping...

Re: Review: Papo & Yo (PlayStation Network)

I very much enjoyed it as well. The experience is more powerful than the gameplay itself, so a 7/10 seems fair, but I'd probably give it 2 scores: story/atmosphere: 9/10, gameplay: 7/10

It's really worth playing, Anyone know if a soundtrack will be released? I loved the music,

Re: Talking Point: The Trouble with Trophies

@Kage_88 Yes, I get all warm and fuzzy when I hear the "pling" trophy noise. They really nailed that sound!

Generally, I'm not too obsessed with trophies - don't really have time to be, honestly. I'm also not nearly good enough of a gamer to worry myself about them...and that's alright. I enjoy games. THAT is the point to gaming.

Re: Sony Reveals Scorching Summer PSN Sale

I will definitely get Pac-Man...and possibly Closure. That said, I probably wouldn't if I didn't have PS+ (which has totally been worth it). 50% off is a much better deal than 30%. True, not as deeply discounted as Steam, but still pretty good.

Re: Review: Lollipop Chainsaw (PlayStation 3)

This review is very helpful. I'd like to play a demo of this game just to get a taste of the aesthetic, but I have a feeling the apparent sexism would bother me enough to not want to play the game all the way through.

Re: Review: I Am Alive (PlayStation Network)

I enjoyed the demo, and I think this review is sport on. Well done! The backwards checkpoint system is what turns me off from this one. I do agree that some of the ideas are pretty brilliant though. I like that this game isn't being violent for the sake of being violent - it seems to have a pretty deep story, and I dig that it is trying to be truly survival-based...but not everything works...

Re: Round Table - What We Expect From Sony At E3

bauckster

Wow, that was a great read guys! I feel like I like I have a much better perspective on what is going on now, so I'll be able to make more sense out of E3. I am also super excited about the next Quantic Dreams project!

Also, I hope that they reveal some decent titles for Move instead of dropping it altogether. Child of Eden was fun! I want more Move shooter support. I'm not a fan of using a gaming pad with shooters and Move is closer to mouse.
