I have a theory, here me out, This is all in my opinion.
Phil Spencer said that he talked with the leaders of Sony right? I think it could imply they might come to some sort of deal. We don't know that deal is? BUT, after the talk, Sony isn't very worried I think which means some deal with MS has probably benefited them as well as MS. We don't know for sure but if they have come to some sort of bad deal, Sony would have been panicking and start buying up more timed exclusive deals or buying some other studios which we could have heard it by now (or later, I don't know for sure). We also could have heard a state of play right about now or soon. But after the MS talk with Sony about COD, we haven't heard much from Sony. This implies they have come to some sort of agreement that benefits both parties.
Also with Bethesda, Sony didn't really complain that much compared to Activision situation. They complained more about Activision. The fact that Phil Spencer talked with Sony leaders meaning they have come to some agreement that will benefit both parties
Here are the following that could happen (this is so far right now I could think of)
1. COD Warzone will still be supported on PS, along with older COD titles
2. COD will continue to be released on PS, but Xbox will get exclusive content and stuff
3. COD will be equally the same on Xbox and PS ( NO exclusive content at all)
4. COD will continue releasing on PS, but other Activision games will be Xbox/PC only
@koffing now that you speak of this, I believe that the PS creator isn't impressed with the metaverse/NFTs . Kutagari- san I believe created Playstation.
Doesn’t Sony have dormant IPs though? This could be a good idea too if they can review some. I think Siren is one that is dormant but I am not sure.
Yeah you are right about Capcom about the variety stuff but I believe Capcom probably doesn’t want to be bought because they recently said about wanting to be 50 50 with consoles and PC. They said PC sales are equalizing with consoles sales so they are trying port more to PC
@Malmall20 I do hope COD will at least remain multiplatform but Xbox gets exclusive content and stuff. That’s a better deal imo.
But it might not happen for all we know. What Sony should do is ramp up the 1st party development. It’s pretty good right now but they should expand and do more
@Slippship well Activision games aren’t that profound on Nintendo systems. Sure the switch got a lot. Like crash bandicoot, Spyro, tony Hawk, overwatch and more.
But compared to PS, Nintendo doesn’t really need to worry compared to PS about Activision.
@Voltan I do wonder something. Maybe this could get Sony to ramp up their first party game production. Like have more of their 1st party games get announced.
Iirc, they said they about 25 games in development which half are new IPs. I wonder if Sony will make those announcements soon.
I never played any Battlefield games. Only FPS I played was Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on my friends PS3 and Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 on my friends PS4. What is the difference between the two games (Call of Duty and Battlefield) and are Battlefield games good anyway?
@BAMozzy funny how Crash started on PS now to only end up as an Xbox exclusive. I am gonna be honest here but I think Xbox needs some family friendly stuff. Nintendo and Sony already have some but Xbox doesn't.
@meistergeister "PlayStation has the BEST 1st Party games"? Sorry but they really don't imo.
Is it better than Microsoft's 1st Party exclusives, I would say yes but not better than Nintendo's though.
Playstation has BOUGHT existing IPs such as Ratchet and Clank and God Of War I think and made it exclusive. Nintendo's 1st party games on the other hand have been created from Nintendo's OWN in-house development teams. They didn't buy existing IPs but created their own. Monolith has been bought by Nintendo in 2007 iirc, but they created XC which is new iirc.
What has PS created by themselves? Grand Turismo and what else. Also God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn are NO WHERE NEAR the level as famous or iconic as Mario or Legend of Zelda
@UltimateOtaku91 doesn’t Sony have a stake in Square Enix or a share or something?
Also I don’t think they could buy a Japanese developer but I am not sure at all. I hope it doesn’t happen. But if MS does manage to do that, then soon Nintendo will notice and do things seriously probably. Buying some company like Bethesda or Activision won’t hurt Nintendo. Heck buying EA won’t hurt Nintendo. But if Capcom and SE do get bought by MS or ANY Japanese developer bought by MS, then Nintendo will notice and take action and do something.
@IonMagi it’s only Japanese 3rd party that usually matters for Nintendo tbh.
Also I am just letting you and everyone else know that Ms can’t buy a Japanese developer due to certain laws in Japan that forbid foreign companies buy HUGE Japanese companies
@IonMagi I am gonna be honest. MS buying Activision won’t impact Nintendo much.
But yeah, it’s a huge blow to Sony and PlayStation. PS has abandoned Japan and most Japanese developers are releasing former PS exclusives onto Switch and PC. Some Japanese developers are making Switch exclusives too. And now west is PC and Xbox now. I don’t know what will happen to PS now

Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?
@TheRedComet I see.
Don't blast me on this. It is a very unpopular opinion.
But I would RATHER see Sony making more timed exclusive deals rather than buying a big company.
Re: Fans Think PlayStation Might Be Teasing PS1, PS2, PS3 Backwards Compatibility
@poetwarlord I am assuming its the Project Spartacus reveal
Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?
@Sil_Am what? What makes you think like that. Activision games will continue releasing on Switch but not PS?
Re: Fans Think PlayStation Might Be Teasing PS1, PS2, PS3 Backwards Compatibility
yeah, not gonna hold our by breath for this. It might not be true for all we know

Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?
@LightningLeader well with that, not only will they be affecting Sony but also Nintendo as well
Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?
@Malmall20 with which statement? With Capcom not wanting to be bought? or that Sony has dormant IPs it could resurrect from the ashes of the dead.
(Not literally btw, just a joke)

@TheRedComet would rather have them buy frontsoftware or Square Enix they will be much better for Sony I think
Re: Analyst Expects PS5 to Seriously Outperform Xbox This Year
@Ralizah I believe Switch has overtake the Wii. It will be targeting PS1, Gameboy and PS4 soon
Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?
@TheRedComet would rather have Sony make timed exclusive deals with Capcom rather than buying them out front.
I don’t want Capcom to be bought by ANYONE

I honestly don’t know what Sony should do but I do wonder what that rumored Project Spartacus is. I need to know what that is

@sonicmeerkat I heard Anthem is dead.
Didn't that game suck?

@TheRedComet Just a question
Re: Xbox Boss Expresses Desire to 'Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation' After Activision Buyout Is Complete
@UltimateOtaku91 Actually from what I heard, Call of Duty excs will apparently shift away from annual releases.

@KidBoruto I always believe in the heart of the cards
Re: Xbox Boss Expresses Desire to 'Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation' After Activision Buyout Is Complete
@TheRedComet true I guess. Do you find it sad that Crash is now Xbox exclusive now btw?
Re: Battlefield 2042 Could Potentially Go Free-to-Play After Poor Performance on PS5, PS4
So this is good right?

Re: Xbox Boss Expresses Desire to 'Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation' After Activision Buyout Is Complete
@__jamiie That is true. But to clarify which companies had existing IP that Sony eventually bought?
Are Insomiac and Santa Monica some?
Re: Xbox Boss Expresses Desire to 'Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation' After Activision Buyout Is Complete
@meistergeister have fun playing Starfield on PS5 then
Also HOW DO YOU HAVE THREE Xbox Series X’s
Re: Xbox Boss Expresses Desire to 'Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation' After Activision Buyout Is Complete
So call of duty will remain on PS then? I am assuming it’s Warzone he is talking about but we will see.
What I think is that Xbox version will get exclusive stuff. But PS won’t.
I could be wrong though

Not sure for me

@SilverTangerine they tried that once before. Didn’t work well. Also Nintendo and MA have a partnership

@IonMagi well not western companies I think

@Link41x that’s like a majority of gamers in the West tbh
Re: PlayStation's Call of Duty Marketing Deal Almost Certainly Ending
@Royalblues Mojang was bought by MS in 2014.
Before Mojang was bought by MS, Minecraft was on Xbox One and PS4 and I think Wii U as well. It was way before Mojang was bought by Mojang
Re: Will Call of Duty and Other Activision Blizzard Games Come to PS5, PS4?
@Texan_Survivor sure why not?
Re: Xbox Now Owns Legendary PlayStation Series Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon
@RadioHedgeFund we all remember how MS tried to buy Nintendo. It ended pretty well
Re: Will Call of Duty and Other Activision Blizzard Games Come to PS5, PS4?
After this years COD, it will be Xbox and PC only.
Don’t expect anymore on PS
Re: Microsoft Buys Call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard
@RadioHedgeFund hopefully no one buys Sega
Re: Microsoft Buys Call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard
that’s a huge blow to Sony alright. No more COD on PS eventually.
All Xbox now

Re: Sony's Own First-Party Studios Championed PC Ports
@Korgon well if you want Nintendo games on PC, perhaps take a look at what Nintendo recently did with this one Youtuber and his BOTW Second Wind mod.

Re: Hands On: God of War PC Is a Great Way to Play a PS4 Classic
@Agramonte if ONLY Capcom had implemented cross saves in Monster Hunter Rise, I would have gotten the PC version. But no, I will stick with Switch.
Not only that but there weren’t too many improvements for Rise on PC. Mostly it’s just a prettier and better running version of the Switch version.
