Soul Hackers Teaser

Atlus has launched a Japanese countdown website for something related to Soul Hackers. For those who might not know, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers was an early game in the Shin Megami Tensei series. It originally released for the SEGA Saturn in 1996, and it was ported to PlayStation in 1999. Over a decade later, in 2012, it was ported to the Nintendo 3DS.

So, is Soul Hackers making some kind of comeback? Well, it certainly seems that way, but given Atlus' track record when it comes to announcements, this could be anything. Having said that, a selection of screenshots have popped up on the site over the last few hours, meaning that this is probably a new game.

The real question, then, is whether this Soul Hackers rebirth will make it to PlayStation platforms. Nintendo's systems have long been Atlus' primary target for Shin Megami Tensei titles, and for all we know, this could even be a mobile game.

In any case, we'll know what it is soon enough. The countdown ends on the 21st February at 8PM Japan time — which is 12PM here in the UK. If this does end up being relevant to PlayStation, then we'll have all the coverage right here on Push Square.
