Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for September 2025?

Stevey_Mac

I was fully expecting Capcom to round off their latest flurry of trailers with a Leon S Kennedy reveal here... Disappointing to not see that. Also the GOW 20th anniversary controller and no news of the remakes or a new game was criminal. At that point just leave the controller out of it. At least Wolverine looked decent but lets be honest we all knew it was going to be there. Overall I would give it a 5.5-6/10

Re: Call of Duty Dev Commits to Sensible Skins in Black Ops 7 Following Strong Community Backlash

Stevey_Mac

Anyone foolish enough to buy into this and give them your money thinking they aren’t gonna put more daft collaboration skins in the game needs their head looked at. This game is a skin store now. That’s it. Without that they have another cookie cutter call of duty game. The days of decent call of duty games are long gone folks. If you want that go with Battlefield. Sad but true.

Re: Yep, PlayStation's PC Games Will Be Playable on Xbox's New Handheld System

Stevey_Mac

This thing is likely to cost at least £800. I cant see it being a great seller at that price. Will be interesting to see what sort of hardware Sony offer up as this proposed new handheld they are working on. You just have to look at the sales for the PS5 Pro and that was only £700 and people found that price almost unfathomable when it was announced.

Re: Until Dawn PS5 Is Priced at $60 / £60

Stevey_Mac

@PuppetMaster The Last of Us: Part 2 literally gave players a £10 upgrade option if you bought the game on PS4. Charging folks £60 with no upgrade path is a joke. Even £20 would be fine and £60 for new players.

Re: State of Play Officially Confirmed for 30th May, Updates on PS5, PSVR2 Games

Stevey_Mac

This being seemingly “downgraded” is a bit worrying I must admit. That possibly explains the late announcement and lack of marketing on Sony’s part. At least they aren’t calling it a showcase and then putting out a glorified state of play like last year. In all honesty I would just bin the “showcase” moniker altogether and have every one named “State of Play”. I do however, remain optimistic that they have some really good stuff to show us. I hope none of the time is taken up by any PS5 Pro announcement. I would rather they did a separate smaller event to debut the new hardware. So Sony, show us what you got!

Re: Sony Doubles Down on Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement by Taking It Off Sale for PC in Numerous Countries

Stevey_Mac

What an absolutely ludicrous response from PC players. Anyone in a country that has access to create a PSN account is being ridiculously childish. The only people with a legitimate reason to feel hard done by here are those in the more obscure places that can't make an account. You literally only have to link the account to steam and the game plays just the same as it always has. No delays, no extra fees, the exact same game. It's not like a launcher where you have to sign in every time you want to play. I for one will continue to enjoy this superb game Arrowhead have produced for us and stride forwards towards democracy.

Re: Helldivers 2 PC Is Getting Review Bombed Over PSN Requirement

Stevey_Mac

@B_Lindz And you think Sony won't find a solution for those players? I can't foresee that not being resolved in those countries or refunds being issued in certain cases. I would also like to see some real world numbers for active players in those countries too. The majority seem to be third world countries and countries where local law and legislature prevent Sony from providing access. Cannot understand why anyone in a country where access to PSN isn't an issue are giving a review bomb score for instance. I think there is a lot of the PC elitist crowd using these other countries as a stick to beat Sony with despite there being no issue with the service they are being provided themselves.

Re: Helldivers 2 PC Is Getting Review Bombed Over PSN Requirement

Stevey_Mac

I haven't heard much furore about all the other companies asking PC players to sign in.... Or do these PC players trust those companies more? Such as Rockstar for instance which has had a plethora of backend data hacked and leaked this past year alone. Or perhaps Microsoft themselves who have had huge data breaches as well in the last year. Then perhaps we should talk about why, if they are all so security conscious as they claim to be with regards to their data and system security; why can't they read basic system/game requirements on a steam store pre-order page which stated a PSN account would be required to play. Evidence of which can be seen on the WayBackMachine as far back as early December 2023. The bottom line is, if you don't want to sign in then don't. But don't cry when Sony asks you to sign in like all the other companies do because you can't read a steam game and system requirements blurb. This process for online service games is old hat at this point and unless you are in a country where you can't make a PSN account legitimately (those are the only folks have a right to complain vociferously) you are just looking for ways to be outraged and offended. The game is great and the game is still great. Make a PSN with a throwaway email if you are that concerned, but stop review bombing a game that you have clearly enjoyed and appreciated immensely for such trivial reasons.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for April 2024 Announced

Stevey_Mac

I think the less people speculate the better when it comes to these monthly games. All it serves to do is give folks unrealistic expectations and make the actual lineups look 10 times worse. Another average at best month. Sony should really read the room a bit better.

Re: More Resident Evil Remakes Are on the Way, Capcom Confirms

Stevey_Mac

The only two games I want a remake of that are left are, first and foremost, Code Veronica, it must be next and then if they remade Zero that would be enough. Maybe a reboot of the first game with an expanded storyline leading up to the Mansion incident. I don't want to see 5 or anything thereafter get remade.

Re: Despite Crap Reviews, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Boasts of Engagement Records

Stevey_Mac

Honestly it seems like, to me at least, a lot of the people doing so much complaining about this game haven't even played it. I bought the game and from what I've heard the campaign is bad. That's not what I'm buying Call of Duty for personally however. The multiplayer is what I buy it for and the movement and gunplay is bang on the money this year. Add to that the return of fan favourite maps from MW2 and I have a multiplayer shooter that I am guaranteed to spend hundreds of hours on with my mates. I see they have already announced more new maps arriving at the start of December too when the new season starts. Personally, so far it's got everything I want bar some nitpicky complaints.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 490

Stevey_Mac

I've been playing the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game that came out a few days ago with a few friends and it's been a blast. For anyone that enjoyed Gun Media's "Friday 13th" game this one is them very much back to form. It's a 4 victim vs 3 killer asymmetric format and its nailed the TCM aesthetic.

Re: PlayStation and Other Gaming Titans Flock to Twitter Rival Threads

Stevey_Mac

Twitter will always be number one in this particular social media genre. Elon has definitely made mistakes since the purchase. But the previous regimes suppression of certain political viewpoints was absolutely scandalous. Anyone championing moving to a new app started by Mark Zuckerberg of all people are fools though. Meta is a horrible company at the pinnacle of big tech. Look for a political lean on threads coming very soon. Fingers crossed Sony just continue to mirror posts on both so I can remain on Twitter.

Re: Poll: What Game Should Capcom Remake Next?

Stevey_Mac

@LordBakemono What a jobsworth troll comment. You were given reasons as to why I gave the original opinion on a poll that relies on opinions. The statement "the only correct answer" is used in jest obviously. It wasn't aimed at people like you who take everything they read on the internet literally. I have made the same comment on multiple stories in relation to Capcom on this site.

Re: Poll: What Game Should Capcom Remake Next?

Stevey_Mac

@LordBakemono In my opinion it deserved the remake. Shinji Mikami himself said it was the proper successor to RE2 and deserved to be a numbered title. If you don't think it's deserving of a remake then that's up to you, but many people adored it and it was far more in need of a remake than an RE4 which was much better graphically.

Re: No 'Concrete Plans' for Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake

Stevey_Mac

@Orpheus79V Shinji Mikami said in an interview:-

"On the other hand, Resident Evil - Code: Veronica, which isn't a numbered title, that game is a title that deserved more to be a numbered one. It didn't end up becoming one for political reasons between Capcom and the console manufacturing company. Personally I wanted it to be a numbered title."

Sony wanted the numbered titles on their console.

Re: No 'Concrete Plans' for Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake

Stevey_Mac

@arra1213 Shinji Mikami was against numbering Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It was going to be a spinoff called Resident Evil 1.9

He said the real sequel was supposed to be CODE: Veronica, because it was a proper continuation of Resident Evil 2 and was a better game.

The only reason it didn't get called RE3 is because it was a dreamcast exclusive and the first two were Sony exclusives. Sony wanted the numbered titles on their console. Code Veronica is the true spiritual successor to RE2 and that's from the legend Mikami himself.

The fans deserve a remake of Code Veronica and most have been begging for it for years.

Re: Overwatch 2 Is Out Now on PS5, PS4

Stevey_Mac

@nessisonett Yea I actually think the whole thing is absolutely scandalous from Blizzard. Even if I had known about it I was working all day on Monday and wasn’t home before servers went down. They will have to sort this out or me and many others may just abandon the game altogether. I mean they have just taken away 1000s of hours worth of content people have paid for in certain cases, unfathomable how bad they have handled this migration.

Re: Overwatch 2 Is Out Now on PS5, PS4

Stevey_Mac

This has been disastrous launch for this game. The servers can't handle the player base and most people including myself seem to have lost all our progress and cosmetics which for me was over 2500 hours in the game. They made mention of account merging but didn't warn anyone that it had to be done before they shut down the original servers. Now all that content is lost. I may be done with Blizzard for how they've handled this.
