Re: Microsoft Reiterates It's the Top Publisher on PS5 in Earnings Call

Smash41

Out of the 6 games that are published by MS, these four would have appeared in the charts regardless of MS buying the companies or not. Anyone claiming MS are keeping PS gamers supplied with games is just silly. If they hadn't of spent vast sums of money to acquire studios their release slate would've been more barebones than Sonys.

The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered (Microsoft)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (Microsoft)
Doom: The Dark Ages (Microsoft)
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Microsoft)

Re: Physical Game Sales See Dramatic Drop-Off in UK as Console Market Struggles

Smash41

The main issues is that all the shops that sell physical games have shut down. If I go to my local town there isn't a single shop I can go in to buy a game. It had Game, HMV, GameStation, 3 Independants, Tesco, Argos, and more i'm probably forgetting that are long gone.

The Game Collection online are my go to now for all my purchases.

Re: Assassin's Creed Syndicate 60fps Patch Out Now on PS5, PS5 Pro

Smash41

They did the bare minimum with this update.

The game runs at 60 fps sure but the clothes still render at 30 fps which is very jarring.

Its been a bug since it was released on PC and never fixed. It's a simple fix to implement as well. You can do it yourself on PC by editing a text file but obviously you cant do this on console. Why Ubisoft still haven't fixed it is outrageous which is a shame because in my opinion this is the best AC game. Will be replaying for sure though to unlock the Jack The Ripper DLC trophies.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Enjoys the Series' Biggest Launch in Years

Smash41

306,460 people are playing the COD HQ app not Black Ops 6 alone. This launcher encapsulates numbers for MW2, MW3, Warzone and Black Ops 6. So yes while impressive, i'd say down on previous years. The general consensus is also the maps are a bit crap so once people have finished with the campaign i'd expect a quick decline in daily players.

Re: Don't Nod Financials Result in Reorganisation and Layoffs, Cancelled Projects

Smash41

The problem these days is that games are just too expensive and there are too many of them. Publishers have become too greedy. Just as an example the new Life Is Strange is Β£75 if you want to play it today. Respectfully they can f**K off for that price. I paid Β£15.99 for the original. I can 100% say the new one will be a worse game too.

Banishers came out as a full priced release. Back in the day it would have been a budget priced game Β£24.99, 30 at the max. Any interest I had disappeared as soon as I saw the price, and judging by this report I wasn't the only one.

Publishers are finally reeping what they have sown for years and I for one am pretty pleased. The industry needs a reset.

Take Two increased the salary of two of their top executives (likely CEO + 1 other) by 100% in 2023 vs. 2022. Their combined salaries rose to $72,350,718. Or in other words: An increase of 36m in one year for two individuals.

This should be added to every article online reporting on this closure. Absolute scumbag moves.

Re: Talking Point: What's Next for Xbox Games on PS5, PS4?

Smash41

@Deljo We've had the following games as console exclusives so far this year on PlayStation and it's only May. Helldivers 2, The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Pacific Drive, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Rise Of The Ronin & Stellar Blade.

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

Smash41

I can't play games at 30fps now after enjoying 60fps. If a game doesn't offer it (Dragons Dogma 2) I simply won't play it. I feel the narrative of 30fps is OK is simply because the Xbox exclusives aren't hitting it. There is no excuse for Hellblade 2 not to run at 60fps. Lower the resolution to offer it.
